This guitar was built in Japan probalby in the early 70's. It has a solid spruce top and what looks like walnut sides and back. The neck is rosewood with double bar inlays. The bridge has individual string adjustments, like the tune-o-matic, set in a dark wood with abalone doves on each side. The pickguard is standard black. There is white binding on top and bottom. The back is two mirrored walnut pieces seperated by a fine mosaic wood block pattern. Kinda like a stripe. This guitar is very well made and plays great.

The sound of this guitar is right up there with Martin guitars. It has a natural tone and fullness that has gotten better with age.
Action, Fit, & Finish

I bought this guitar used in 1974 and looked brand new then. It was so easy to play and the action was very forgiving for a new player (me) to learn on. I'm sure I would have quit playing if it wasn't for this guitar. The finish on it now is thirty years old and has the normal wear and tear one would expect. It is still beautiful and shines like the day it was made.
Reliability/Durability

After the thousands on hours of playing time and enjoyment I got from this guitar there is no question about reliability or durability. After 30 years it was time to retire. It was replaced by a D-16 Martin.

This being the first guitar I ever owned and that I learn to play on it, I would have to say that it is my favorite. I have owned and now own some of the finest electric guitars ever made, Les Pauls, Strats, ES-330, 335, 135, around 35 electric in total, but, I have only owned 3 accoustics. I didn't need any others.
