Made in Japan At the Matsumoka Guitar Factory in 1972. This is a Strat Style with 22 Frets,Rosewood Fretboard,Hard Rock Maple Neck,# way selector switch, One volume and one tone control. It has a mahogany body it's very heavy for a Strat. Four ply pickguard w/b/w/b . Tuning gears unknown brand but stays in tune pretty well.

OK this is where i made some changes. It had 2 single coil pickups that must have weighed a 1/2 lb each. It felt like it anyway. I put 2 gibson mini humbuckers in and tone and volume pots off a Gibson firebird and schaller tuning gears and this thing is wicked. I usually prefer Seymour Duncan mini Humbuckers but this are very nice a vintage sound with good output. I play through a line 6 tube amp and a Mesa Boogie Road King 2X12. This Little Guitar is very well made.

Purchased used. I had Pickups and pots, Tuning Gears Professionally installed. The Neck on this Guitar is absolutely perfect, over 30 years old and the action is right down almost on fretboard with no buzzing. This guitar is pretty rare. I have only seen 2 besides mine. I'm sure there must be a few more out there. I think people are discovering that the Teiscos, Univox, Ventura, Fender and Ibanez made in Japan are really good instruments. there are a few more out there that are good also, you just have to check these out.

This Guitar has been gigged and it is very durable I would play it without a backup and feel comfortable about it. Usually if you are doing gigs you have more than 1 guitar. A couple of finish cracks but hey it's 32 years old.

Company does not exist anymore but in the dealings i have had with a couple of large manufacturers of guitars today. you would be better off without them.

I believe this was made around 1972 in Japan At the Matsumoka Guitar Factory. It is 22 frets with a Rosewood fretboard and a Hard Rock Maple Neck excellent neck still straight after all these years. It has a 3 way pickup selector switch 1 Volume and 1 tone control it has 2 single coil pickups . The body looks and feels like mahogany it has excellent sustain. Vintage style Bridge with Ash tray cover with a Four Ply Pickguard.

I play Rock and Blues through a Fender Super Reverb and a 1965 Fender Blackface. the pickups are a little noisy. I would change them them out but i don't need it for gigs. It is just for personal use at home. I have several Guitars Gibsons, Fenders, PRS, Washburn's and numerous Acoustics. I want it to stay original. It has a fairly decent sound almost like a Tele.

I don't know how it was setup at factory i have had it since 1980 and have played it a lot. the tuners are pretty decent tuners considering the age. there are some finish cracks but only surface. I had the nut replaced with a graphite the old plastic one was cracked. Everything else is original.

Due to the age of this instrument and with 30 year old volume and Control pots. If i were to gig it i would use a backup.

Company does not exist anymore. some companies are putting Teisco and Univox Labels on guitars and having them made in Korea and they are PATHETIC. Don't be suckered into buying these cheap imitations. The Japanese era Guitars were well made and it is a shame some companies are tyring to lower the value by using cheap Korean made instruments and selling HIGH.

If i tell you how long i have been playing i would be telling my age. I have been playing for many, many years. I own Gibson,Fender, PRS,Washburn,Guild and many Japanese Era Guitars from the 60's and 70's. I only thing i wish is that this giutar had a 5 way selector switch. If it were lost i probably would be out of luck i have only seen 3 of these on ebay in the last 4 years. THIS GUITAR IS VERY EASY TO PLAY AND JUST FEELS GOOD WHEN YOU ARE PLAYING!!!!
