Strat Body.
This was made in the early to mid 1980's, I think Japan. There used to be "a lot" of these Mako "strats" around back then. I bought this used in the later part pf the 80's. The body has a satin finish, Grey color, and it is in sunburst style.
Pick-up configuration is 3 single coils, Passive.
There are one volume and two tone controls and a 5 selector switch.
Someone replaced the orginal tuners with nice grover ones..
It has 21 frets, a natural clear color neck, either (maple?, don't know)
Non-lock standard trembolo.

I play Pop / progessive / and acoustic ballads.
I use differn't Pevey amps and vintage amp heads with this guitar, and I go direct into my computer to record music.
I has some "pops" with the volume and 5 pick up selector, reson is that
it was not mantained well, even when I bought it used from the shop.
The guitar is "dead on" like a fender strat.
The sounds are what you would find on a fender strat, I love playing from the neck pick-up, really nice "full" sound.

Everything is fine on the guitar, except for the the volume and tone pots and 5 selector switch. But all that has to do with the previous music store and owner.
The action is great, either low to the neck or high up.

This is a solid built guitar, I am going to get the the pots and switch replaced. If this guitar was mantained better by the prevous owner / music store, I really think that this guitar wouldn't need any repair in the future. I would play this guitar out on a gig.

I've been playing for about 20+ years. I own alot of other guitar, electic and Acoustic.
If the guitar was lost, I would get another strat or tele type of body. I have found out over the years, that you don't have to buy a "high end" guitar to get the same sound from a cheaper model, like this Mako.
I like playing from the neck pick-up, that full, big sound. I really need to get all of the pots changed on it, plus the switch. The pick-up's are fine.
If you see one of these 1980's Mako copies around, try it out. They should cost much over $100.00 USD "if that". If all of the controls are good, and the neck and body is ok, buy it!
