This guitar is made by Sejung in China. Sejuna markets their guitars under the house brand "s101". Tom Lee music store chain in Canada, made a deal to relabel their guitars as M.R.W. (Music Research Works). Despite being made in China, these guitars are HIGH quality and are the best knock-off's I have EVER - that's right - encountered, maybe other than Ibanez.

The guitar at hand is a knockoff of a Gibson 335 Semi hollowbody. Probablly made between 2000-2007. I paid 200 CND for it. Came with double humbucking pickups. The specs can be found online at Sejung's website. The one I have is Vintage Sunburst. The bridge is a Tune-o-matic, hard tail. It has two sets of volume and tone control knobs and considering a semi-hollowbody, it SINGS!

For a knock-off guitar, the sound just could not be better!

This ES 335 copy just sings. The neck pickup achieves a real rich, bassy sound - considering that it's a semi-hollowbody, and the bridge pickup sounds clean, light, and even a little twangy. Combined, it sings.

It really achieves a great semi-hollowbody tone with excellent sustain. When pushed, the tone becomes edgy/crunchy, and when nursed, it sounds full and rounded.

The two pickups give off starkly different tones, the bridge could be considered a little bit too thin, but I still love this guitar.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
Honestly... this finish is better than any knock-off brand I have ever encountered! The quality of this is better than (new) ES 335 copy's by Epiphone's, Hagstrom's, Ibanez and Jay Turser (Knock-off brands).

The finish on this guitar blows Epiphone out of the water! The obvious attention to detail and finishings are what makes this guitar such a steal for the price! It is honestly comparable to any other 'big' name brand... and for abour 10% of the cost! Gibson eat your heart out.

Reliability/Durability : 9
This is an excellently build guitar. i would have no reservations about playing live with my baby. But, it is a semi-hollowbody which means it isn't as 'rock solid' as a full electric guitar.

My friend is a semi-professional musician and owns a Gibson Lucille 355 original. His guitar retails at about 2500. Honestly, we both agree that my guitar isn't that far behind his.

Hands down... this guitar is THE best bang for your buck. And plus, it's a funking cool semi-hollowbody.

If you can find one, get it! And if you have one, keep it!
