Sound

This guitar does its' job very well. When I need a full 12 string sound it is, tuely, a huge sound!
I Mic it with a Shure Beta Green 58 into a Mackie 24 channel board to rack effects/Crown Power amp/to EV PA Mains for live performances, or Mic direct to the board in the studio.
It's a Very Rich, Full, Jangley sound. Brilliant!
It's not the guitars fault, but it's a 12 string and wears my fingers out fast. The strings are set low to the neck and the intonation is Very Good!

The action was a bit high, but I work on guitars and do my own setups.
The assembly of this guitar was impecable. Every detail was addressed.
Reliability/Durability

This is a well built guitar and, with basic/average care will take anything a tour can dish out.
The hardware is solid and worthy of the guitar.
I have many guitars and I feel this guitar is as good if not better suited to live playing than my Martin HD-28, or Takamine ES-341 as far as sound and structure.

I've dealt with Guild on a few occasions and they were helpful to me. Warranty isn't an issue on these guitars since they haven't been made for several years. If anything happend to this guitar that I couldn't fix, I'd have my local "Martin Authorised Luthier" fix it at my expense. It's a "Keeper".

I've been playing guitar since The Beatles made their First Tour of the Colonies! I've owned a couple of Madeira guitars over the years and have loved em all. The only supprise you'll get with this guitar is the prices are so low on a Quality guitar! I love that it looks, sounds, feels Great! It ranks right up there with the best of the brands...new or old. It would be nice to have a LR Baggs system installed... I may do that soon, so I don't have to fool with the Microphone.
If you want a true Pawn Shop Prize... Look at this guitar or Any Madeira.
