This was my first guitar, a bit of a cheapie. I play it through a Fender Deluxe 85.
Playing clean, it sounds unremarkable. It makes the sounds, but it won't win any awards for rich tone, or the like.
However, it has a surprise in store...
When the distortion kicks it, this is one of the most gained-out guitars I've played. Metal and punk come alive with more crunch that you'd expect for such a cheap guitar.
However, it is really noisy with the distortion, even worse with a high tone setting. The coils sometimes seem like they are microphoning the pick.
It earns 5 for clean, and 9 for distorted, so 7.

My guitar is used, so I can't really give a good indication for this area.
Its a cheap guitar to begin with, but it does the job.

I've never played with it live, but it has stood up to some intense jamming back. Its probably not a guitar that most people would gig with, but it'd survive. I'd use it as a backup! :P

I've not dealt with Memphis.

This guitar served its role. I discovered guitar with it, and it cost so little, that I wouldn't have regretted buying it even if I stopped playing a week later.
Its cheap, but its fairly reliable, sounds good distorted.

if you play guitar, you know that guitars have nothing to do with your sound. It's what feels right. I use the guitar with a Rocktron R20 Rampage. It has a pretty cool humbucking type sound with distortion, an OK sound on clean, I guess, I can get good distorted sound and weird effects. I dislike the fact that it has no toggle switch, but on the other hand, I admire the simplicity.

The guitar was set up fairly well-the neck didn't fall off or anything, but the strap didn't stay-the screw button fell out. Pickups are fine, blah, blah, blah....

This guitar will withstand life playing. I'd like to change the pickups. The finish will probably wear off. The strap button fell off, so I had to replace it. I can depend on this guitar, It would not fuck up on me.....

This is my first and only guitar. I'm thinking about buying another guitar, but I'll probably own this for a long time. If it were stolen, I'd probably go try and buy a Mexican Telecaster and keep that forever.

21 frets. two volume knobs (one for each pickup) and one tone knob. Two stock single coil pickups, slanted at bridge postition. I'm not sure about the wood, but it's super light. Nice glossy black finish, with a 3-ply black pickguard. The pickguard wasn't very impressive, so I took some Pearl nail polish and painted it. It looks great!! Beats paying $XX for a new one! String-through bridge. Really cheap tuners, but solid. It's not full size, I think it's about 39 inches.

The pickups are really weak. Very bad clean sound, It's okay with distortion. The neck pickup is really bad, but the bridge pickup is decent. One very cool thing about this is that you can get a humbucking effect from the pickups by turing both on at the same volume.

Pickups were nice and set, but the intonation was horrible when I picked it up. The pickguard isn't on nice and flat, almost as if it's not the right size. Also, the volume knobs weren't set right.

It will definately withstand live playing, but the pickups MUST be upgraded. I replaced the strap buttons because they couldn't hold my Ernie Ball strap. I replaced it with one of those steel strap locks.

Well, it was my first guitar, so I'm planning on keeping it for a very long time. I love the new pickguard. Even though the guitar is already routed for a humbucker at the bridge, I wish they would have installed one beforehand.
