Same as the last review, through neck w/ brass nut and bridge. Mine doesn't have a coil splitter.

Sound : 10
Deep and warm, good sustain.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
I think this must have been one of their high end models, extremely well built guitar with super finish.

Reliability/Durability : 10
It's a 79 and still going strong.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Probably not LOL.

Overall Rating : 10
For the money, this is one great playing, sounding and well built guitar. I pulled this out tonight to put fresh strings on her to prep for sale, changed my mind now.

Neckthru Alembic copy.
24 frets, passive HBs, splitcoil switch.
Satin walnut or mahogany w/maple, & ash or alder, rosewood fretboard, medium frets.
Double cutaway, tunomatic, stop tailpiece.
Rumor has it these are late 70s MIJ, named to keep Yamaha from getting sued.
Only representation I've seen of these anywhere is somebody selling a magazine advertisement w/a stoner rendition of Tutankahmen playing it.

Sound : 10
Great tone, she just screams.
I'm not limited to just one style, but this is for raw expression.
Think medieval dungeon.

Action, Fit, & Finish : No Opinion
I have no idea how the factory set up was, I rescued this casualty off fleabay. This instrument has suffered. Not everyone deserves nice guitars. It would be nice to see how this piece started life.

Reliability/Durability : No Opinion
This guitar has survived idiots, so after restoration it will withstand anything.

***********HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA*************

Overall Rating : 10
I've been playing a long time.
It would have been nice to know just how much damage I'd see before getting this, but that's a gamble you take when you buy online.
The feel of this guitar and the great neck make it worth saving.
The goofy lettering on the headstock screams 'CRAP!', and for those who don't second guess it, their loss.
