i bought this guitar at a pawn shop about a week ago for 52 even, it has a 22 fret neck with a locking nut, the same open tuners everyones been describing a bridge nad neck humbucker and a floyd rose style floating trem that ive seen on alot of aria pro guitars. has a volume and tone, and a 3 way selector for the price i bought it for im not too concerned it took some minor adjusting to get the trem to sit properly but i wasnt to worried.

Sound : 8
the sound this guitar has compares pretty well to my ibanez rg321 and jackson dinky, i tune my guitars to drop a and these 3 sound pretty close to the same tone i want, the memphis's bridge pickup tho has a very bright tone with a deep tone at the same time but doesnt get muddy

Action, Fit, & Finish : 5
the finnish cracked and made it almost seem like under the paunt the gutiar has a flame top but i doubt it because the bodys made of plywood

Reliability/Durability : 7
this guitar is pretty good to depend on live it hasnt broken on me yet and suprisingly the shitty double lockign bridge doesnt go out of tune on me

ok first i start by saying when i got this thing it was complete shit. the two morons to own it before me left it in a shed and it seems a dog chewed on it and fucked up the plug in and dented it. its metalic green pretty cool looking, looks alot like a Jackson Dinky only more rounded head stock and a small body. I painted shit onto the thing to make it better looking, anarchy sign, roses, old school shit. its a classic double cutaway body. its got a strat tremelo brigde. i replaced the shitty open gear tuners with some 32:1 ratio tuners so it tunes great now. 21 frets, medium frets. i have no clue what the fretboard is made of. something crappy but yet some how it sounds pretty good. probably made in the 80's, made in tiwian. it has a volume knob and tone knob.whoopy. like i said many things about this guitar were shit and dirt when i got it. it didnt even have but one knob! the nut was broken, the dumbass kid had 4 high e strings on it. The humbucker is like nothing i've ever seen before, really weird magnets, sunk it shit that can be adjusted with the same tool for a truss rod. its apparently good a body of playwood (wtf?) but yet still sounds mean. not much not clarity. i got this for 50 bucks. yet put like fucking 120 in it just to make it decent. shoulda got the thing for free.

Sound : 6
yeah i guess it suits my rock style, i use it for heavy metal. drop d then a heavier combo were i tune the top 3 string to c,g,c. honestly i do love the metal it dishes out. but anything else.snore. i use a Boss mg-10 with it. it does nicely to annoy everyone and be loud and rebellious with heavy metal. it has a really raw rich powerful tone as far as im concerned. like a very sub standard jackson. not much variety in sound. i like the heavy raw tone. i dont like the lack of note clarity on bigger chords, 21 frets, or the fact i had to sand down the fingerboard and polish the frets to make it look and play good. it does let you get a away with minor mistakes however

Action, Fit, & Finish : 3
ok, once more IT PLAYED LIKE SHIT! i cleaned it all. took it apart got all the fucking rust and bugs out, put a whammy bar on, adjusted the truss rod. the humbucker, new tuning keys, put on hollow nut ( this thing has unbelievabley long note sustiance though! my f***ing god!) new slides. i adujested the tremolo springs the slide height. fixed the fucking amp cable plug in ( which was held up to be pluged in by a F***ing bread tie when i got it) bent the metal thing back in so the cable would quit falling out. just recently i had to straighten out the whole damn fretboard, had to take it off to do that. so yeah. it was more fucked up than sept 11. but now all is almost well. it plays alot better sounds better, looks better, is better thanks to a bunch of pain in the ass work. the volume control needs replacement as it crackles and cuts out when i adjust it.

Reliability/Durability : 4
obvisily the hardware lasted, it went through years of horseshit care before i got a hold of it. so i think it'll last. the paint is going nowhere. great paint job. in fact looks is the only thing it had going for it for awhile. the strap buttons are gay and i need to replace one, i fucking hate the strap buttons. i only play this in front of others when i need a heavier rock tone than when my Dean evo xm can provide. i dont do anything crazy with it, but im sure if i did, it'd prolly break something. i do set the headstock on fire though.lol.yes i can depend on it. it not completely fixed yet. but it works

who the hell are these guys?

its my first guitar, i still love it, i'd kill if someone stole it , it took me a lot of work to fix it

I wish I knew how old this thing was. I would guess sometime in the late 80's to early 90's. 21 fret rosewood fretboard. There is one tone, and one volume for the single humbucker. I have no idea where this thing was made. I'm guessing maybe Mars. It has medium frets and the tuners look pretty scary what with the open gears staring right at you, but damn they hold on for dear life. Seldom goes out of tune unless I go on a tremolo binge. Its a white and red 5150 copy with a headstock that resembles EVH's banana headstock on the real 5150 with the Kramer neck but not enough to catch a lawsuit.

Sound : 8
For a guitar that was so cheap and appears to be cheaply made, I have to say, I was impressed with the sound. I would have to guess that it's not the original pickup as its painfully apparent that a previous owner made a few of his or her own mods. Such as drilling a couple extra holes on the paddle end of the neck where it attaches to the body to relocate the strap button a tad. I gotta say, that is a perfect place for the front button though. It's comfortable as hell to hold and play. Seeing as how it weighs as much as an apple or something also helps that. Played through a good processor like my PODxt, you can squeeze a good tone out of nearly any guitar. But the pickup on this bargain basement axe is hot as hell with great sustain without any sort of effects or extra processing and played just through a decent amp.

Action, Fit, & Finish : No Opinion
I am gonna ignore setup a little as I know a Gibson or Fender Custom Shop tech didn't bang this one out. Whoever cut the nut was apparently blind, asleep, or both. With a little filing though, it will be fine. The frets are suprisingly perfect though. No ends sticking out and they are all seated properly and straight as an arrow. The finish is surprisingly well done. Its a decent enough replica of EVH's 5150. All you need to do for effect is add the black stripes with a roll of electrical tape. An axe this cheap doesn't warrant stripping and repainting. The only thing that would would be the neck as it is painted and therefore not as fast as I would like. But overall not bad i guess. The action is set on the low side of medium and has no buzzing. I am guessing that someone that knew their ass from a hole in the ground set it up. I would give the action a very good rating for an axe that you could purchse with a paper route pay check.

Reliability/Durability : No Opinion
I cannot speak of the reliability as I have never attempted to do anything crazy with it. It is worthy of gigging for a couple songs if you play a VH cover or two. Simply for effect and for the sake of show having that paint job out there. I wouldn't say it would be my main axe, unless I ended up with some sort of head injury. Maybe then I wouldn't have the sense to know the difference. But since I have all my faculties, this is an extreme emergency back up at best. Not a bad recording or practice option though if you record in to a computer or something. If the finish has lasted this long, I don't have any worries about that. The strap buttons were EXTREMELY suspect, but I always use Schaller locks. Even on this piece of mung.

Does the company even exist anymore?

Overall Rating : 7
The sound, action, and style give this a 7. It's not top quality, but it is a pretty cool little axe. If it were lost or stolen, I would try, but not sure I'd be very successful to find a replacement if only to have a little tribute to EVH in my guitar rack since it was so cheap. The sound is good enough to make me mess around with this on a somewhat regular basis though. I have a pretty old Dimarzio FRED that I wanna put in this thing to see what it can do. I'm not about to pop that in my Les Paul so I might as well put it to good use. There is just something appropriate about putting that ugly hot pink pickup in this bastardized and rigged guitar. I have a feeling that FRED will actually knock this thing up another notch on the sound rating. That will remain to be seen. Overall, its a cool little axe if for nothing else other than it being a conversation piece.

Plywood body, strat style headstock, and its cherry red with a black pick guard. its most definatly the cheapest guitar I own, it has 2 single coil pick-ups, i think they are memphis brand, and no selctor swich, The first week I had it,I had to unscrew the pick-guard to re-solder the input jack and the grounding wire. It looks like a mid-80's judgeing by all the damage. thin fret wire(which pisses me off)

Sound : 3
It's suprizing decent. It sounds tone-deaf when it is run threw my processor, but it plays distortion like my strat. I play threw a crate amp, with a digi-tech processor, parallel to a Washburn bass amp. i use DoD distortions. this guitar has no variety of sounds, un distorted it sounds like crap...distorted sounds a little bit better. and the standard of sound are high, what with my B.C. Rich and my Ovaition raising the bar. Out of my 6 guitars it is my least favorite(Sound wise)

Action, Fit, & Finish : 4
I lowerd my action. The finish is a solid cherry red, it suits this guitar, its got some wear and tear, but it is easily overlooked. its a good guitar, and although i've never used it live, it makes a bad ass practice guitar because i only clean it once a month :). when i got it the controls were loose as hell, but it take 30 seconds to fix that.

Reliability/Durability : 2
I've put in alot of time on this guitar, not money, just time. It's a piece of crap guitar, but it is dependable...i guess, i mean it hasnt collapsed or anything. I took the bridge off because one day im gonna replace. I would not play this guitar live...EVER! and the thought of me using on a gig with out a back up.....its acctually kind of fuuny. its allready falling apart

Customer Support : No Opinion
Ive never even heard of the company before i got this guitar. I dont even think it had a warranty when it was new. I can fix it by my self in less time and for less money anyway.

Overall Rating : 10
I've been playing for about 7 years. I own A B.C. Rich Warlock, A samick accoustic, and Ovaition accoustic, a fender cornado 12 string, a fender stratacastor, and the memphis. The memphis has the most stories out of all these guitars. My first band had like seven people in it, well there was this annoying kid in the band that played guitar, and sucked at it. anyway the guitar he played was the memphis, we all left our equipment at the drummers house, because we practiced like everyday, so anyway the band broke up and the annoying kid never came to pick up his guitar, after awhile the guitarest from my next band took it, he rarely played it, he usualy used it as a backup for practicing, so after a while the singer of the band got to it, he used it for awhile until he got two hand-me-downs from his sister, so he gave it to me, at first I didnt want it, but its been with me ever since. eventually I move half a country away, to florida, and so far it's been stolen from me and bought from me...but for some reason i still have it, at this point im not gonna let it go.

Memphis small scale guitar. Made in Korea. Paid $40.00 at a flea market. Repaired the whammy bar where the weld broke by drilling a hole in the plate and tapping it and then screwing in a bolt. It won't break again. One double stack in the bridge position with tone and volume. It kicks butt for controlable feedback through a distortion pedal and Peavy amp. Nice sustain probably due to the unibody/neck construction. The machine heads are very cheap but suffice in their function. The small scale neck allows for increased picking speed making one sound almost like Al Dimeola. (Yeah, almost.) The action is not bad. All in all not a bad guitar for the beginning head banger.

I don't know what year this thing was made, but I would guess around the early 80's. It says made in Korea on a sticker on the head stock. It has 18 frets. It is made of a thick chunk of plywood I think. It has a tone and a volume control. It has one pickup in the middle, a cheap one. The neck and head stock are finished with the rest of the guitar. The tuners are junk but they work. It has a funky floyd rose/telecaster style bridge that can't be identified, but it is use less anyway because the thing will be out of tune even if you think about using it. (no string locks at all) The guitar is almost a carbon copy of the frankenstien red white and black guitar that Van Halen made. This one is all red but it will soon be just like the frankenstien. The original finish is actually good, it holds up to use with no respect.

Sound : 2
This thing doesn't suit any ones style, it is just a learner unit. You can find cheaper made guitars than this but not a lot. I have played this through every thing from cheap little peavey's to vintage 40's and 50's amps as well as my fender twin. I think it sounds OK. It has no tone but would work well for the average shredder.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 4
The action of this is actually pretty good. Even though it has been about 20 years, the action is still about the same as it was when it was new. Oh! this thing still has the original strings too. It is not played much because I have much better guitars to play and nobody wants to play this one. The finish is good and over all, for a $39.00 guitar, it is built like a $79.00 guitar.

Reliability/Durability : 2
I wouldn't be caught dead on stage with it. After about 2 minutes of playing I would have to stop and tune the thing.

Customer Support : No Opinion

Overall Rating : 3
I have been playing for about 15 years, and I don't have anything cheaper than this. This was one of my first guitars, and it is a great first guitar. If some one is just wanting to try the guitar but not wanting to invest a few grand, this is a great way to go. The body of this is very small so that it fits a child as well. If you're giving it to a child to learn on, then you don't have to worry about it, it's durrable, easy to play, and beat of all it's cheap. You can find guitars like this at flea markets and garage sales for about $20.00.

This thing is weird. It's black, with some plywood plank of a body (sounds like it.) Maple neck with rosewood fretboard. 20 frets I beleive. Its not full sized. Les paul style headstock & Strat style body. Volume and tone. Has one Humbucker in the Bridge/Middle position. The humbucker has no polepieces, but twin rails.

Sound : 5
This is not the guitar I use now. For a small guitar, it sounds decent. The humbucker was a bit squealy, but the tone knob took care of that. Very bright tone. Growls thru distortion. My setup was..(are you ready to LAUGH?)... A squire practice amp set to a scooped mid sound and a clean tone, An RMS 15 watt bass amp set for the same, A DOD Bi-Fet Preamp, with the volume full up that I used for distortion. It was clackey sounding, but if you're into lo-fi crap, It ruled. I also moved the strings down a notch, ditching the high e and putting on a hi bass string as a low E (like a seven string kinda)

Action, Fit, & Finish : 7
The action was high, it had a tune-o-matic style bridge, The finish swas really nice on mine, and it even covered the neck & headstock. I sanded the frets myself. Before, they were a bit jagged.

Reliability/Durability : 5
This guitar never once fell apart except for once, when the pickgaurd cracked. I replaced it with a peice of wood. The tuners suck, The Straplox suck. Who cares? It's the crap guitar. I use it now as the smashing and lighting on fire guitar. It's fine.

Overall Rating : 1
Now I've been playing for 6 years. I love this stupid little thing. I compare it to nothing, It's horrible, junky, lo-fi. I'm selling it. If you find it, buy it!. It should go for about 30$.
