Two years old. The guitar was build in Germany, handcrafted by Joerg Tandler of Morgaine Guitars. Its a remake of a 54' Stratocaster with a two-tone-sunburst-finish (true nitro laqueer). Body: swamp-ash, Neck: hardrock maple, D-shape, very fat but very handy. Three single-coils (Lindy Fralin, mixed magnets, passive), 5-way selector (Incredible: the telecaster-sound by closing the second tone-switch). Wilkinson Vintage tremolo, Gotoh tuners. You ca change strings without screwing on the backside!

Playing more and more blues since a couple of years I decided to get a more vintage strat sound (I played a LP Standard 80 and a Rockinger Strat with different singelcoil-humbucker-combinations (EMGs, Seymore Duncan). I play a Mark III Boogie as my main amp and use a little POD for recording. With the Morgaine I got the sounds I ever wanted, sparkling clean sounds, dirty rythm and wailing lead. A dream.

The guitar was used but in definitly not played. No scatches or damaged. I changed the strings and started playing instantly without any adjustment. Impressive: the Wilkinson never went out of tune. After a few days I decided to change the strings from E 10/46 to E 9.5/44 for better bending notes.

The Mintage is a handcrafted, high-end tool for all guitar players. I love playing this guitar, its so easy to get strongest sounds and a dynamic tone from soft to hard - much value for the bucks. It has straplock-buttons, which are very safe. And the Mintage is a lightweight because of the swamp-ash-body , so you play hours and hours and hours without getting any backbone hazzle.

Why should I buy a guitar via ebay from an unknown? Should anybody do so? No. But I knew Joerg Tandlers artwork because he replaced the frets of my Les Paul last year - and he made this guitar sing! So it wasnt a game to bid for the guitar - later Joerg gave me a service for free!! Setting the tremolo, the strings, the neck ... very nice guy. He knows everything about guitars and how the should sound.

I play guitar since 1978, and I dont change my gear very often. I searched for a very good Strat and I found the Mintage54. Its so easy. I would buy another one if this would be stolen. I cant compare it to my Les Paul or my Guild Manhatten. Its a vintage Strat and now I play with the Blues-Sound I like so much.
