I've been playing for over 25 years and am very picky about my guitars. Three years ago I was traveling through Florida and ran across this guitar. I had been thinking about an Alvarez Yari $1800, a higher end Takamime $1300 and a Taylor at $2300. As soon as I played this guitar, I knew I was done with guitar shopping...at least for a while. Not only is this a beautiful guitar with some nice inlay work, it plays and has as rich and full a tone as any guitar at triple the price. The active pick up sounds great through my P.A. and features both a High Z and balanced output. The only downside with the output is that i have to put a dummy plug in the high Z output for the balanced output to work.

The sound is amazing whether playing acoustic or through a system. The tone is very rich and full. I prefer Elixir Polyweb Custom Light Strings. Again, I would compare this guitar to just about any guitar in the $2000 range.

I finally made the first adjustment to the neck after playing for almost 3 years.

Reliability/Durability : 7
I believe this guitar is extremely durable. I do have a problem with mine that developed about 6 months after purchasing it. It has a crack in the neck near the nut. It developed along the grain of the wood. While I was very concerned, I have continued to play for over 2 more years without a problem. There is a lifetime warranty and I did file a claim. I will discuss that in more detail in the next section.

This guitar is distributed by SHS Audio. I contacted them when I noticed the crack in the neck. The woman who handled my claim did not seem to understand the emotional attachment a musician gets with their instrument. She had me send the guitar back to them. I paid the shipping. After calling them for 3 weeks and no return calls, I finally spoke with a rep. I was told there was nothing they could do with my guitar and offered to replace it with any model I chose from their line. At this point they were only carrying the "bean blossom" line. They replaced it with a far inferior instrument, but I must admit I chose it. I did ask if they would sell me my original guitar back which they did. I have been playing it since. The bean blossom is long gone.

Overall Rating : 10
The best guitar I have owned. If I could find another, I would buy it just to have as a backup. Not one person I have played with or talked too...including guitar shops...have ever herd of this guitar. What an absolute surprise when the see it amd play it. If you are thinking of buying one of these, you will not be dissapointed. My only suggestion is to inspect the neck closely, especially in the grains of the wood, for any small cracks or potential problems. I believe I just got a bad break but would not hesitate to buy another.

This is a jumbo cutaway with a Solid Pacific Red Cedar Top and Dao sides. The bridge and fretboard are rosewood with pearloid inlay. Gold hardware, with a traditional headstock and custom sound hole. White bindings on the headstock, top and back. Built in pickup with 3 band EQ. I believe this was made in korea. Its a real beautiful guitar. The only thing i dont like is that it is lightweight (I started on bass, so im used to heavy guitars) But it is real sturdy. Based on looks alone, i was surprised at the price.

This guitar is perfect for me. I play all styles from jazz, blues, rock, country, bluegrass... a little bit of everything.(im a music addict). I didnt like the dreadnaught model too much. It just didnt sound full to me. But this guitar is bright, with just enough bottom. Ive been playing for almost seven years, and ive never heard an acoustic this great in the price range, even three times the price range!!! no joke!! The greatest thing is, when i plugged it into a system, the pickup was way beyond my expectations. I like this guitar as much as my friends taylor (so does he). Definately worth it.

I havent adjusted the action on it since i bought it (three months ago). It is really good, but i would like to have it a little lower. I loved the guitar before i plugged it in, but hearing it through a system is heavenly. It sounds a lot like Steven Curtis Chapman's tone, only i like this better. Nice finish...everything looks fine, feels fine. Stays in tune. Something about the bridge worries me, i just cant put a finger on it. Maybe im paranoid.

Reliability/Durability : 10
Ive played live several times with it in the past three months, it holds up great, stays in tune. Never had a problem with strings breaking. Hardware seems top notch to me. I put another strap button on it, and it was still it was still in tune after drilling the hole. I dont even bother with a backup. Thats not really professional of me, but that is how much i trust this guitar. Like i said, light weight, but sturdy as a tank.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Havent dealt with them, but its got LIFETIME WARRANTY!!!!

Ive been playing for a little over seven years. Four years was semi-pro with a alterna-pop-rock band...3 shows a week. Most of the time i was on bass, but ive been playing guitar for just as long. Now i a weekend warrior. I own a strat, vox amp, jazz bass, peavey t-40, music man 5 string, and a hartke bass amp. Ive been around the states playing or running sound and played pretty much everything out there. This one of the best acoustics on the market in my opinion. Nothing under $1000 comes close. I honestly expect to see prices rise. I love everything about this guitar. If this thing got stolen, i would pray the wrath of God down upon the dirty thief. This is definately worth a look at at the very least. I recomend to anyone of all styles and playing levels.
