I got this guitar about a year and a half ago (may 2004). I think that it was made in Korea. Solid top, ARTEC pickup, rosewood fretboard with abalone hex inlays. Rosewood (probably laminate) back and sides. Knock-off Schaller tuners.

I play mostly acoustic rock and folk, and this guitar is well suited for both. Good loud sound without being overly bright or boomy. I can get a lot of good sounds out of this guitar (though it does not sound as good as my friend's Taylor)

I really havent done much setup on this guitar other thank change the stock bridge pins to a set of rosewood ones that I got from grizzly. All of the inlays are done very well, and the only complaint that I have about the finish is that there is a scratch/ gouge on ther neck near the body. I actually didnt notice this untill a few weeks after I got the guitar, and it does not stand out too bad. It looks as if somehting fell onto the guitar (or the other way around)putting a flaw in the finish. Rather than sanding / reappyling or otherwise fixing the mistake, it appears that more finish was applied and nothing said.
Another thing is that the "gold" finish on the tuners has begun to tarnish in several places. I plan to replace these at some point.

I have been playing for 5 years and this was the 5th guitar that I got. Don't get me wrong, it has been a good guitar for the year and a half that this has been my primary instrument, but if it were lost or stolen I am unsure if I would get another. I have never had any major problems with this guitar, but there have been a handfull of minor annoyances, that might hae been prevented with better quality control from the factory.

Korean made, copy of a D-41 Martin Dreadnaught, Deluxe model with Lots of real Abalone and Mother of Pearl. Have 2 guitars,6 string and 12 string model. 6 string needed a set up, lowered the saddle and changed strings to John Pearse lights. Needs the fretboard levelled, then the strings will be on the fretboard where I like them. I always do a complete set up on any guitar I get. Gold Enclosed cast tuners.Nice rosewood Fretboard and Bridge. Neck is 3 piece Mahogany. Back and Sides have the same grtain inside as they do on the outside. Appears to be Solid Rosewood back and Sides??

When I lowered the strings and put on a New set of John Pearse light guage strings, it came alive and sounds almost just like a D-41 Martin. Sweet Lows and Highs. Its Full on both ends of the spectrum. Love the sound.

High strings on the fretboard. Couple of finish flaws, but thats Korea! I have always adjusted or setup every guitar to my own particular style. I have a very light and Sensitive style of playing.Strings are Very Low with No Buzz.

I traded a fender precission jazz bass (mexican made)to a guy who needed a bass for a Morgan Monroe Serinade model. This thing is incredible, beautiful. It plays incredible too.The rythym guitarist in our band has a Taylor he paid $2900 for and like the mm better. The action.the neck the playability I cant beleive.I went surffing the net looking at acoustics and I found at the E.S.P. guitar site they have an E.S.P acoustic identical to my serinade. The serinade sells for anywhere between $399 to $499 and the E.S.P. Model was $699.I know I got a heck of a deal plus everyone admires this guitar that see's and plays it.I would recomend a M.M. to anyone.

This guitar is just like the MND-1 "The Naural" except it has extensive ablone inlay in it, very similar to the Martin D-42, hexagonal fret markers, abalone binding on top, and an even fancier soundhole rosette of 7 pearl eagles, with an abalone background. It also has a beautiful abalone inlay on the headstock. "Morgan Monroe" is also inlaid into the headstock. The squared-off shape of the Martin headstock is also copied. There is no pickguard. The Scaller style tuners are gold plated. It has a solid spruce top and laminated bubinga back and sides with a marketry stipe douwn the back, joining the bookmatched bubinga pieces. The fretboard is a very dark rosewood. The neck is made of three pieces of wood:(headstock; (2) neck, and (3) heel. It was simialr to a Dean dreadnaught that I own in quality except the woods on the Dean were a bit better looking,so that put it at about $600.00 worth of guitar in my mind, which is a lot of guitar, being made in Korea for a fraction of what it costs to make an American guitar. I got a used one for $250.00 bucks which I felt was a steal. A new one was $330.00. It has a 25 1/2 inch scale which is 1/2 inch shorter than the Dean. It didn't sound quite as good until I put on some new strings and replaced the bridge pins with abalone dot bone pins. The pins were fitted to the bridge and brought the sound quality way up.

It sounds like an expensive dreadnaught now. I use it as an alternative tuning guitar for the song "Guinivere" by Crosby, Stills and Nash. The fretboard is just right for fingerpicking.

This guitar had a finsih flaw in the back, which was pointed out to me. That lowered the price considerably. I don't know if the factory did it or the preveious owner. I was able to rub most of it out. The action can be set lower on this guitar than on any other acoustic I have ever owned, without buzzing.

The guitar is durable. I changed the tuner buttons to some green jade buttons that I got from Taiwan, though there didn't seem to be anything wrong with them. I just like the jade as it goes well with the abalone. It stay in tune all right. I also bought a roswood pickguard with a large abalone and pearl eagle inlay on it from another guy in Taiwan. They are both on Ebay. I drilled out the plastic inlays that cover the bridge mounting screws and replaced them with abalone. I put an abalone border around the bridge. The abalone trim that I got wasn't green enough to match the rest, so I dyed it like an Easter egg and got a perfect match. I got some fretware abalone and made hexagon onlays for the bridge in the D-42 style. It is just about the prettiest guitar in the world now! You wouldn't want a backup!

I bought this one at Arthur's Music stor in Indianapolis. Vance Music store sells this brand in Bloomington but they had never seen the Delux model and it isn't on their website. By the way, this is really funny! Bloomington is in Monroe county, which is adjacent to Morgan county. The Morgan Monroe state forest spreads over these two counties. The Morgan Monroe web page has an extensive piece of hogwash on their web site about the legend of "Morgan Monroe", which is pure fabrication. I can get any help I need on this from either store, but I don't have a warranty as it was used.

I own about thirty guitar and have been playing nearly that long. This guitar was hanging on the wall a few guitars down fron a Martin D-42 and the simialrity was striking. I really didn't need it but it was really pretty and I liked the brand name. I would probably buy another if it was stolen or lost.
