Maple set neck, Maple body, Quilted book matched maple top. Volume, tone 3-way switch. Changed out the .022mf cap for a .047mf cap. This guitar has a beautiful finish, even used it is flawless other than a little belt buckle rash. Tune-o-matic style bridge 24 Fret rosewood neck. The pickups were okay, but I put Seymour Duncan's in. This looks a lot like a PRS but no trem!

I hated this thing at first! then I cleaned it, changed the strings and raised the action a little to suit my more blues based style. After a little love it is one sweet guitar! Once I got it set up and the Duncans it is awesome! I really thought it did justice to the Led Zeppelin sound. Seems to work with everything, played it through a Roland and through a Fender Blues Jr. I love the Audio taper tone pot! it is a little more precise than a linear taper... or maybe it is that it is subtle at first, just seemed to give me a little more control.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 8
Don't know what the factory set up was like. It was set up low and fast when I got it. I raised the action a little because that seems to work better with bends. this thing is fast and smooth! All the hardware looks great. It did need to be cleaned and the fret board needed a little love (oil)It is perfect now.

Reliability/Durability : 10
I think this is a solid guitar. it is built to last and to perform. The original strap buttons are large and solid, but I have Dunlop locks on all my other so they are on this now. I think you can easily rely on this guitar.

Customer Support : 1
Emailed the company, no response. I understand they were sold and production of electrics stopped.

I have been playing for 35 years, I have played a lot of different guitars and this one is going to be a perennial favorite! If some one stole it I would hunt them down and flog them! I looked at other guitars, not real big on the PRS guitars, I tried some Ibanez and a schecter but none compare to this one!

i love the body, it matches my style of music like no other. i would have gotten a prs but im not rich. but this guitar is great all the different tones on it are just wonderful, and its a fun guitar to play. ive owned it for a few months now, but i thikn its a few years old, b/c it sat at the place for a while. and it pretty much features what everyone else said.

Sound : 10
it goes great with my music style. which is alot like blindside and the 12 stones.
i have this guitar plus a standard fat strat
a line 6 duoverb 100 watt head
2 marshall cabinets
hot rod distortion digitech, boss chorus ensemble, jim dunlop orignial crybaby, and a crapy little tuner,
i also have an ebow
and w/ all of them its just all i need,
the amp itself has 15 different amp models

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
i havent even touched it, b/c i think everything is just great, the strings are as close to the fretboard as they can get w/ out them buzzing on other frets, and the pickups are just great, and everything on it is still tight no lose plug ins or tuning knobs

Reliability/Durability : 10
ive been using it at live stuff and its awesome, never had any trouble and its always the best sounding guitar there, and i dont think ill have to worry about something going wrong for quite a bit longer

Customer Support : 10
i dont think its under warranty, but they were awesome i have no idea how much it lists for or how old it is, the dealer had 850 marked on it, i think it had been there for a long time (guessing about a year), and i asked him if he would to 400 for it and he said whatever i can get out of it to get it out of here is fine with me. by the way it was at allstar music in jonesboro ar

Overall Rating : 10
great guitar, wouldnt recommend for begginers b/c switching from a fender to it is pretty hard, if ur not very well expierenced and other than that great guitar, too bad they dont still make them

Made in 2001. 24 frets. Whale Blue colored quilted top. Body style is that of a PRS. 1 tone, 1 volume control. Two HB pickups, passive. Maple body, rosewood fretboard. Tune-O-Matic bridge.

Sound : 10
I like the sound a lot. I play many different styles across the rock spectrum from heavy downtuned stuff like In Flames and Slipknot, to normal standard stuff like Ozzy and Metallica. I'm currently playing it through an 18-watt Roland Cube amp with a Boss MD-2 Mega Distortion Pedal. Its not noisy at all, nice full sound without getting muddy with distortions. Clean is great. You could probably get about any type of tone you want with it. The stock pickups are VERY nice but I plan on replacing them with an EMG 81/85 set within the next couple of weeks.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
Factory set up was perfect, action was great. Pickups were set up perfect, everything was routed just fine. Finish is beautiful.

Reliability/Durability : 10
This guitar would stand up to live playing and the hardware is just as good. I am replacing the hardware soon with all black hardware just for personal preference, and the tuners will be replaced with locking tuners. The finish is great and will definately last. Strap buttons were solid but I didn't have them on there long, I got a set of strap locks which should be on all guitars IMO. I can depend on it and I would gig with it without a backup.

Customer Support : 5
Customer support is slow and they aren't even making this model anymore, and finding parts for it is very hard.

Overall Rating : 10
Been playing for a little over 2 years now I believe. All my gear has been listed but I plan on getting a new amp as well as a Digitech RP200 very soon. If it were stolen or lost, I would probably buy it again if I could find another one. I love how it looks and plays and the colors are great. I compared it to PRS guitars and chose this one because it plays and looks like a PRS for half the cost.

2001 Model. From what I understand, these won't go into full production until next year. The body style is very similar to that of a Paul Reed Smith. The main difference is the stop tailpiece. On this guitar you have a two-piece tune-t-matic and a stop-tail, a?la Les Paul style. The neck is maple with a rosewood fret board- neck through, with 24 frets. Body is mahogany with a nicely quilted maple top. As controls go, you have a volume, tone and a three-way toggle switch between the two- located slightly lower that the other two. Two factory humbuckers. All the features you could want for this type of guitar. I would have like to have seen a 5-way rotary switch, but I don?t have a problem with the current layout.

Sound : 10
This guitar has a very warm sound?very round and balanced. The high end doesn?t molest your ears, and the bottom end is full without getting muddy. I am very impressed with the stock pickups. I really expected to have to replace them, but after playing the guitar through my amp for an hour, I knew that the factory ones would work well.

I am currently playing the Morgan through a Rivera Knucklehead Reverb (awesome amp!) I have been able to get tones ranging from Santana to Zakk Wylde. This is one of the few guitars that offer a nice selection of tones in all three pickup selections. I have become addicted to soloing with the toggle switch in the middle position. It has a very smooth sound, while still allowing me to achieve some wicked pinch harmonics. All of the tones this guitar offers are very sweet. The string balance is beautiful. The Morgan is a very rich sounding instrument. I don?t even know how to fully explain how good this thing truly sounds. You just have to play one to understand.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
The action and finish were dead on. The guitar came with a set of .009s from the factory. I switched to .010s when I got it home, and made a few adjustments to compensate. However, there was nothing wrong with this guitar at the store, I just like .010s better. I was actually impressed that the guitar was in tune when I picked it up off the rack. Most guitars that are just in to the store are all wacked out of tune- not this one.

Over all, the Morgan Monroe SHS-MEP is a fine instrument. Although I do wish they would come up with a better name for this guitar. I?ve been playing for about fifteen years now. I also own a Les Paul Custom and a 40th anniversary Strat. I wanted a PRS style guitar to round out my collection- mainly because I think they look sharp. After playing several PRS models (McCarty, CE-22, and the Standard 24) I found the Morgan held it?s own. A well built, affordable guitar. I have yet to find an element of quality loss on this guitar. If it were lost or stolen I would buy another in a second. In fact, I plan on purchasing another one to bring to gigs as a backup, in case I break a string. Since I don?t play either of my other guitars after purchasing the Morgan. It just sounds and playing so good!

To get the idea of this guitar, think PRS. The body style is almost exactly the same. 24 fret neck through. Maple neck with rosewood fretboard. The body is mahogany with a quilted maple top. The quilt is beautiful. Think PRS 10 top. Mine is transparent amber. This guitar is quite a wonderful site.

Morgan is a new company. So new, that my guitar is number 20 off the production line. Now that's cool.

Sound : 9
For a guitar that cost me about a grand less than a PRS, this thing sounds really good. The guitar has a very warm and responsive sound and feel. I play everything from rock to blues to jazz... and every once in a while, I'll crank the distortion and pretend I'm the lost member of Metallica. The Morgan keeps up just fine.

My gear looks something like this: Morgan in to a Mesa/Boogie Studio Pre, to a Mesa/Boogie 50/50 power-amp, to a Mesa 2x12. In the fx loop I have a T.C. Electronics M-500 (which is mostly used for some delay and reverb).

I know that I keep saying it, but this thing really does sound like a PRS. That is the best way to describe it really. Big round tone. Woman tone.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
When I got the guitar, the action was a little high for my taste. So I lowered the bridge and the problem was solved. The finish is top notch. The quilt pattern shows very well, and there are no visable flaws in the clear coat. I was impressed.

Reliability/Durability : No Opinion
I have only owned this guitar for about a month, so I'm going to hold off on this one. However, I see no reason why this guitar won't hold up just fine.

In my opinion, this is an excellent guitar. For the money, you really can't beat it. I compared this to Les Pauls and a few different PRS models. The Morgan simply has more bang for the buck. I've been playing for twelve years now. One thing that I have learned through the many guitars that I have own- no cheep-o?s either!- it's all about playability and sound. This guitar delivers both, and with looks to match. I will defiantly be purchasing another one very soon.
