This is a very cool guitar. I own 3 other Mosrites, a '66 Ventures 12 string, a late '60s Celebrity, and a recent Ventures Excellent '65 reissue. I also own an early '90s Fender Jaguar. This particular Mosrite is shaped sort of like a telecaster. Mine is a dark brown wood stain with a white pickguard. It is a true stereo guitar. It has two input jacks and independent volume and tone controls for each. It also has a switch to mute one of the inputs. It plays like most Mosrites. Very quick action and a thin neck. This one plays the best in comparison to my other guitars. The pickups are also slightly different from the other Mosrites I have. These look and sound a little more like dual humbuckers. A little warmer sounding than the others too. I love the sound of this guitar and it plays perfectly.

Sound : 9
As I said before, it sounds beautifully. Big and warm and full. Like all other Mosrites, it has a 3 position pickup switch. All 3 sound beautiful. My set up is Boss TU-2 -> Fulltone Fulldrive 2 -> Fulltone Distortion Pro -> Boss BF-2 -> Boss PN-2 -> Boss RV-3 -> Boss DD-20 -> Moogerfooger MF-101 -> Roland JC120. The pickups are particularly hot, so I generally only use a little bit of overdrive with the DUlldrive. Too much distortion can sound a bit weird through these pickups, but with just a little, this guitar sings.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
I got this guitar at a guitar show in early '99. When I got it it was in perfect shape. The action was quick. The pots were all clean, no noise whatsoever. It was clean and the finish was in percect shape. The pickguard has yellowed some, but the guitar is 33 years old. I also tend to like that pickguard age discoloration. My only complaint was that it didn't come with a hardshell case. I bought one shortly after, but I only got a gig bag when I bought it. It hasn't need a set up since it got it, but it could stand to have the pots cleaned. They're a little scratchy.

Reliability/Durability : 10
I played shows with this guitar for 4 years almost weekly. Lately however, I've been mostly playing my Jaguar. I love this thing and You don't see them too often. They pop up here and there on Egay, but I hate to take the chance. Also, I tend to beat on my guitars when I play live and this thing took an awful lot of abuse without so much as a single scratch. I've been lucky so far. I still take it out 3 or 4 times a year though. It's prefectly reliable and I've never had a single problem with it (kock on wood). This guitar is 33 years old and looks and plays like its almost new. Every single thing is solid. Semi built these guitars to last and play like no other. That's why I have 4 of them. I always gig without a back up guitar because I'm way too lazy to drag 2 guitars around.

Customer Support : No Opinion
This company has been gone for years. The guy I bought it from at the guitar show seemed nice, but I've never had a single problem with this guitar.

Overall Rating : 9
I've been playing music for 15 years, guittar for 10. I love this thing. I've had it for 5 years now and I still play it all the time. I've used it in a number of different bands. Everything from shoegaze, to improv noise, to spazzy synth punk, to Nick Cave-ish stuff, and almost country twangy stuff. It's almost always perfect. The only thing that bugs me about it is that I can't seem to find a good screamy distortion sound for it. Most overdrives sound amazing, but the pickupsalmost overwhelm anything more than that. I generally have to crank the volume all the way up on most distortion pedals. Amp distortion sounds great usually, but running it through the weak overdrive in the JC-120 doesn't do much. That's a minro minor complaint though. I'm an absolute tone control freak and I need everything to sound exactly as I hear it in my head. If it were lost or stolen, I'd definitely try to find another one. These are getting scare nowadays though, especially unmodified ones. I keep seeing these on ebay with a bigsby. THEY WERE NOT MADE THAT WAY EVER!!! These have set bridges and Mosely had his own designed tremolo system. he had 2 in fact, so why would he use a Bigsby?
