Mine is a Mosrite Ventures Jr. It was made in japan maybe a little over a year ago. it, like all ventures mosrites, has 22 frets (a little taller than real mosrite "speed frets" but still pretty small), 2 p-90 style pickups, moseley style trem system, 3 way selector, a nice slim neck (oh baby)...just your usual mosrite. However, since this is a Jr. model, it is only 3/4 the size of full sized one. can't tell by playing though, except that it is sometimes hard to play chords w/o muting a few strings.

Sound : 10
I play mostly indie rock and surf. Since this is pretty much the ultimate surf guitar, no complaints in that department. I play it through a marshall mg-100rcd 100 watt head and a 12 inch fender speaker and it sounds beautiful. My friend owns a mexican strat and he plays through my amp and it sounds puny compared to my guitar. The guitar is very quiet on the clean channel, but when set to the distortion channel, the guitar becomes a 60cycle/sec amplifier. doesn't really bother me, though. from my experience, every guitar does this unless you have a custom shield job for the electronics. the 1 tone knob makes a lot of difference. you can really tell when you turn the thing.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
Action was low, just like the real thing. pickups were set to the optimal height at the factory. no flaws. the japanese really know what they are doing and are pretty careful with this stuff.

Reliability/Durability : 10
This guitar will withstand live playing. from what i've been told, they are much better (quality-wise and tone) than US mosrites. everything is solidly built...i mean, it made the trip across seas in a puny cardboard box and a gig-bag without any problems. the only flaw...it seems to go out of tune very easily. well, it's a floating point tremelo, so that is kind of to be expected. i'm going to buy some higher gauge strings to try on it tomorrow, so, we'll see if that helps some

Customer Support : 10
I had to correspond with the web-shop guy in japan to get this guitar. he seemed pretty friendly and eager to give me any information i needed. from what he said though, there was no warranty on overseas shipped items, so i guess my investment was kind of risky. most of the components are pretty standard though, and you can still order them from ishibashi anyway, so no worries.

Overall Rating : 10
I've been playing for about 3 years and this is one of the best guitars i've ever played. I would be very heart-broken if it were ever stolen from me, since the ventures model has been my dream guitar for about 3 years now...kind of why i got started playing, so i could justify getting one :P

This guitar was made in Japan at least 30 years ago. It is an exact replica of the Mosrite Ventures guitar, it even says Mosrite on the headstock. It's got one vol. one tone and a 3-way selector switch. It's got two Mosrite P-90s, a Mosrite Bigsby Tail Piece and Grover tuners. I don't know what it's made of but it feels very solid. The neck is very slim and has 22 frets which seem small and the frets are extremely low. The neck takes alot of getting used to. Came with a hardcase that obviously doesn't belong to it considering it scoots around like crazy.

This guitar sounds beautiful. I use it for surf and and punk. I use mine witha 70's Dual Showman, 62 Reissue Fender Reverb Unit, and a Danelectro Daddy-O. Very little noise and a really bright sound. Very little sustain is a bit of a problem though.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 8
The action takes some getting used to cuz of the low frets but otherwise it all looks beautiful. The pickups move up and down a little but I doubt it came from the factory like that. Some jack ass repainted the guitar red and then black and did a very sloopy job.

Reliability/Durability : 10
This guitar looks really good for being 30 years old. I would definately depend on this guitar, can't wait to gig it.

Customer Support : No Opinion
No customer support what so ever, IT IS A BOOTLEG! These would be sued and out of business in a matter of minutes these days.

Overall Rating : 9
This guitar is a great Mosrite copy. Mosrite's go for atleast $1,000 these days and at half the price this is the exact same thing. I would suggest getting one of these over a Univox Hi-Flier or any other Mosrite copy. But if you've never played a Mosrite make sure you play one before you buy it cuz the neck might be really hard on some people.
