It is a 1965 Ventures 2 model(same as a Mark V) I Bought her in 89(just neck and body)for $20.00 from a friend...but spent quite a bit later. It has a short scale very thin neck. There is a bit of a problem reaching the highest frets due to its long lower horn. I had her restored-very modified. Pro refret(mediums)/board leveling, pro refinish,Seymour Duncan humbuckers,Gibson toggle switch, ground shielded cavities, custom designed pickguard, input jack relocated to the side, shaller tuners, graphite nut, Gibson tune-o-matic bridge..... My dream guitar!

This guitar originally sounded surf..duh...VENTURES 2 MODEL(I have played others like she once was)but mine being severly modified has aggression! It plays like butter and has that Dimebag Darrel tone. I play lots of types of music and she shines at all of them. Very agressive thick tone if you like HEAVY detuned rumble or a nice warm blues tone depending on your amp settings.

The original finish was destroyed from abuse. Refinish is a deep wine red. Action is low and buttery thanks to refret by Tom Pellerito of Pellerito Guitars Ypsilanti, Michigan

These guitars have very thin necks...you should repect them or a disaster may occur. But if treated properly they will do fine. Heck mine was beat to death in its previous life and now she screams!

This is my all time favorite guitar. If something happened to her I would be crushed. I will someday leave it to my son and hopefully he will enjoy it like I did. You can find them on Ebay for around a grand. I would not recommend modifying any Mosrtie unless it is already hacked up like mine was when I got it. If you do modify it experiment and dont be afraid to personalize it to your style.
