This is a totally simple set up. One volume knob-plug it in and play! It is powered by a single 9 volt battery but I recommend getting the AC adapter as the juice doesn't last long. There is a preamp out and an external speaker jack, but I haven't tried them yet.
the look of this amp is cool. One single 6" spkr mounted in a lightweight yet sturdy box. Cool "MA" logo on the front doubles as the speaker grill. There's a small handle on top for portability.

I'm using to record guitar and bass in a demo situation. There isn't a whole lot of play you can get with the sound, given that there's no tone control, but it does produce a surprisingly warm sound. i found that playing with the tone controls of the instrument, particularly the bass, gave me what I wanted out of it. With the volume on 10 you can do some cool stuff if you mess around with the volume controls on your instrument.

I think the most practical application would be for practice, jamming, or busking. My impression is that every touring player should have one. It's never broken down, I don't expect it to.

I've been playing for twenty years, about 15 professionally. I own lots of other gear, this was a great addition. Comparison-wise I'd say this amp is like an awesome version of a Pignose amp.
If it was lost or stolen,I would definitely replace this amp with the same model I have now.

I play guitar for over 20 years now.
I have a Fender Super Reverb "72 modified by Rick Onslow, one Rozon tube amplifier , an Accoustic 204 Bass amp .
My mountain amp is my mobile amp, the battery duration is about 5 hours.
