Breathtaking. Describing sound is impossible, especially as the Forster F has a very distinctive sound that could not be mistaken for anything else. But to give you an idea - listen to the sound of Martin Simpson???s Sobell, add a little strength and richness to the bass frequencies. That???s how the guitar sounds to me. Exactly what I???ve always been looking for.

Nothing to complain about. I routinely took it to my repairman who seemed pretty impressed.

Can???t think of any guitar that feels more robust. Forster guitars are built in a very dry environment to ensure longevity. Go check out Nigel's blog about it.

Nigel is straightforward and one you can trust 100%. E.mails are answered promptly. He really cares. So no problems whatsoever, and I would be more than surprised to hear of complaints by anyone, as a luthier who does not behave in a decent and customer oriented manner would only ruin his own business. The guitar comes with a lifetime warranty for the original owner which is standard among high-end luthiers.

This is a world class instrument and I am very happy with it. If what you want is the pre-war Martin sound go buy a pre-war Martin or one of the many fantastic instruments built today with that reference in mind. But if you???re looking for something different, a sound that???s pure and open, brilliant and elegant, with endless sustain, be sure to add Nigel Forster to your shortlist.

I have a newish (3 months old) Model F. The body sides are made from Brazilian rosewood, the back a Brazilian/Indian rosewood mix, the front soundboard European spruce, the neck from very old Cuban mahogany. The headplate is Brazilian rosewood and the backplate a decorative Indian rosewood, Tuners are gold Gotoh 510s. With 14 frets to the body, the guitar was made to my spec and came with a Gator hard case. No pick-up/electrics. The purfling is customised red/black maple and the bindings Indian rosewood. The guitar is beautiful to look at and a joy to play. See pictures at Nigel's website nigel@nkforsterguitars.com

I play fingerstyle and the Model f is perfect for this style. The guitar is a comfortable size and the Brazilian/indian mix gives a a bright and rich sound. The volume and sound projection are truly remarkable and I am so happy with this guitar.

Nigel Forster has an outstanding pedigree and talent for guitar making and the quality of the fit and finish are superb. Buying a handmade guitar is to some extent a leap of faith but at all stages I was able to discuss the spec with Nigel and this together with his pedigree gave me great confidence in the outcome expected. My guitar has just had a refit, quite normal on all new handmade guitars, and Nigel has tailored the action to my requirements perfectly.

I am sure this guitar is sturdy. The neck construction/jointing Nigel employs is a belt and braces job. Everything about this guitar gives you confidence it could stand live playing/gigging.

The guitar has a lifetime warranty. Having recently met with Nigel for the first refit I have every confidence in his back-up support should anything go awry.

I have been playing guitars for over 20 years and my workhorse has been an old Martin dreadnought. The Model F makes other guitars sound flat and dull. It is also a thing of beauty and I believe an investment. I looked around at a lot of Luthiers and am convinced I made the best choice.
