Nash Guitars Custom Stratocaster

Built in 2004 for me by Bill Nash. I gave Bill the spec's for my ultimate surf music guitar and after many exchanges via email it became a reality. Stratocaster style body finished in daphne blue with surf logo and pinstripe design fashioned to have a 60's California longboard vibe. Reverse headstock, rosewood board with abalone dot markers, Fender custom shop 60's pickups and Graphtech saddles. Compound radius neck with med frets. A tweed case was included.

Suits my style..I play instrumental surf music with my band "North Of Malibu". The combo of these pups (stock on the Fender custom shop Dick Dale model, the Graphtech saddles (a must for heavy double picking) and the look of a custom surfboard is awesome. I play through a Dual Showman, Piggyback Bandmaster with outboard reverbs and a Vibrotone (Leslie). Sound is very vintage..fret work fit and finish are the best and is a joy to play. There were no string trees (by design) and my low E popped out of the nut a couple of times so Bill send me the trees and all was well.

Here's where this guitar shines...Bill is known for making the coolest relic style guitars out there. I have a Tele style guitar he built for me (yep I'm a repeat customer) that has set of stacked Duncans and a third pup hidden under the guard w/a 5 way switch and push pull pots...many many sounds here! Pups were adjusted just right..action was little low for me so raised that up a tad and perfecto.

I've been playing live with this guitar for the last year no problems. nitro finish is awesome locking buttons were installed .yes, I can depend on it.

Again 5 stars here...I waited a year to write this review..whenever I had a question it was delt with quickly. One thing that is very cool..when you order a guitar from Bill, he emails you first a spreadsheet with a everything you have decided on and costs..as work starts, you get email with pick of your guitar. It is very cool to see it all taking shape before your eyes.

I've been playing over 30 years and have many guitars (but only ones that I use) My Surf inspired Strat stle guitar is my first choice when playing this type of music..I also own a Fender custom shop Dick Dale strat and the Nash is every bit as good plus I was able to add my own touches...Bill really works with you on this..I knew what I wanted pup wise and had several design ideas,,Bill took those did research and we shot emails back and forth till we had just the guitar I wanted. Yes, I would by another..in fact I have a surf styled 12 string on order..we are still working out design elements for it.
