P-90 equipped tele copy. Three piece alder body, maple neck, rosewood fretboard. Korean made. String-thru body. Standard tele controls.

Here is the stuff that impressed me: Grover mini-rotomatics! Bone nut! Perfectly intonated and in tune right out of the box! Action set nice and low! Only thing I might do is set it up for 11's- it has 9's on it now.

Finish is wine-red transparent stain- absolutely beautiful. Neck is satin finished. Very fast. Flatter radius than most tele's- I would guess about a 12 inch radius. Neck feels fairly thin but solid. I like it.

Controls seem very smooth and positive- they seem not at all flimsy or cheap, but time will tell.

Came with a cheap cable, a couple of picks, truss rod wrench.

Absolutely no manual or book- I think this is a mistake with any guitar. There should be something that at least gives the specs.

A manual and this would be a ten.

Sound : 9
P-90's sound great. They blow away the P-90 equipped Squire custom that I tried earlier. Very ballsy and bluesy, which is what I was looking for. Right now I only have two amps at home- a Behringer Blue Devil SS amp and a silverface Champ. This thing sounds so sweet through that Champ!

Guitar is very quiet.

Bridge pu seems really hot- full, powerful tone. I am very impressed with the sound of this guitar.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
I can't express how impressed I am with the fit and finish of this guitar. It is almost flawless- the only thing I could find is a tiny imperfection in the fretboard, like a splinter that lifted off the rosewood. I can see it but I cannot feel it, nor does it affect playability.

Frets are finished perfectly. As I said earlier, tuners are Grover mini-rotomatics. Bone nut. Unbelievable for a guitar at this price point.

Reliability/Durability : No Opinion
I have only had this guitar for a few days, so I cannot comment on its long-term durability. It feels very solid. Tele-type guitars are pretty bullet-proof.

Strap buttons are very good and solid, but I would install strap-locks for gigging. Hell, I'm so old I would probably sit to play anyway.

I haven't played out for a long time but I would never gig without a backup.

Customer Support : No Opinion
The guitar has a 30 day return warranty. Frankly, for this price, the warranty is not an issue. The guitar was ordered on Friday, arrived on Monday!

Overall Rating : 10
I have been playing (poorly) for well over 30 years. Many guitars have passed through my hands in that time. I have a 1976 Martin HD-28, a Go Guitar Travel guitar(you gotta have one of these!), a mint Fender Lead III, a no-name strat copy, and a couple of beater nylon string guitars for the kids. I have been Jonesing for a tele again to play the blues. I have always liked P-90's and this guitar seemed like it was a sure thing for $250 delivered. Reviews on HC and TDPRI are pretty positive so I took a chance. I am absolutely floored that a guitar of this quality can be had for $250. It is easily worth two or three times the purchase price. It is so much better than the P-90 equipped Squier custom that you really cannot compare the two. In quality of fit and finish, it equals or exceeds any MIM tele I looked at and rivals the MIA standard.

If it were stolen I would be pretty upset because it seems I got the very last one- it is no longer listed for sale on the website! I sure hope they get these in again. I have a couple of buddies who want one!

2004 Korean made Telecaster body style.Solid Alder string through body, maple neck, bone nut, grover tuners, rosewood fretboard and medium frets. Two alnico P90 pickups with hardtail bridge.Standard Tele electronics include 3 position switch, volume and tone control.Body colors include wine red transparent or arctic white.

Sound : 9
The Alnico P90's have a nice full sound and when overdriven give off a nice growl without being muddy.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 8
The medium frets are nicely finished with no sharp edges. The neck is smooth and thin and very reminiscent of Ibanez Wizard necks.Makes me wonder if they're not made in the same factory. The fretboard is fairly flat with no imperfections and the Wine Red Transparent paint job is beautiful. The grover tuners do a good job of keeping it in tune. The action is set low but not too low.Perfect for my playing. The headstock is an exact Tele headstock and the Nelsonic logo is done in pearloid and not painted on.A nice touch. The electronics work well with no static and give a good range of volume and tone. The neck pickup on mine is slightly tilted toward the neck but does not compromise sound. The only real problem I had was an open G string buzz. The nut was cut to deep.Makes me question their "professional setup".

Reliability/Durability : 9
A very well made guitar.I see no reason this guitar shouldn't last a long time.It is definitely gig worthy.

Very quick in responding to emails.

You can't go wrong for the price.Probably worth 3 times the amount they charge.I would definitely buy this guitar again and would not hesitate to buy from Nelsonic in the future.

2004 Korean Telecaster Style. 2 Alnico P90 pickups, alder body, maple neck, rosewood fretboard (14" radius), standard tele control plate, string-thru-body strat style hard tail bridge, grover tuners. Oil finish neck, painted body.

Sound : 9
Comparing the sound to my Telecaster with a Bill Lawrence L280Tl bridge and Stew-Mac Golden Age neck humbucker. The Nelsonic in the bridge position is a bit thicker and juicier than the Lawrence. Hot output. Still has single coil sound. Clear and bright, not muffled at all like a PAF. Neck P90 is sweet, not as thick as a PAF, nice top end.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 8
Fretwork was smooth, no burrs. Neck finish is smooth. Only flaws were the top E-tuner was misaligned from shipping and a few finish marks on the rosewood. Very well made.

Reliability/Durability : 8
Should be a good long term guitar.

Customer Support : 9
Good email customer support. I asked them to set up the guitar with .010 strings when I ordered it and they did do it.

Overall Rating : 9
Fantastic deal. Much better than a Squier. I would say this is equal to a $400-600 guitar.
