This is a hollowbody (mines purple) and interestingly enough, the neck continues down into the body cavity almost down to the bridge pickup. It's a bolt on, but it has a lot of contact surface with the body itself. I'm sure this assists in the great tone that it has. It's a 22 fretter, Les paul setup (2 PU's, 2 Vol, 2 Tone, 3 way switch) Passive OEM pickups. Couldn't tell you what it's made of but it sounds great.

The body is Moserite-ish with grat binding everywhere. Very interesting shape and a beautiful deep purple/indigo color. The finish is in amazing condition considering that it has been cruising caseless for who knows how long.

It fills a hole in my collection. I needed something with a bigsby type trem rather than a whammy bar. I play it through a 70s Princton 1x12 and it is just mean! With a little knob twiddling, it can be very jazzy as well. The pickups are not the best pickups ever made, but they hold thier own. I wouldn't think of replacing them as they are hella hot and have a sound all thier own. I think they have a large part to do with the attitude this guitar is capable of unleashing.

I had done a setup on the guitar for my freind when he bought it. Took it down to parts and polished it up. When I was done, I decided that I had to have it and bought it off of him. Everything fits together great and it is super solid.

Reliability/Durability : 10
You can do what you want, but this inexpensive piece with non-descript tuners isn't going out of tune. Bend that bar baby....there's no give on the tuning.

Songwriters a customer support department do not make.

I've been playing for 17 years. I have many guitars including a 72 les paul deluxe (love of my life). If I lost it, I would be sad. It's very unique. The vibro bar is very responsive and the guitar has a very tough feel for such a "cheap" axe. I agree that it is frustrating that no one has any information on these guitars.

The guitar was made possibly in the late 60's by an unknown Japanese luthier who made it for Don Noble in Chicago. It is a hollow-body archtop. One beautifully bound f-hole. Unlike most Mosrite copies, the lower bout is off-center with the bulge on the bottom side. It is bound top and back with white binding. The neck is bound all the way around, and the fretboard is exotic looking rosewood with a tannish pink lighter streak running through the middle of the fretboard. The fretmarkers are MOP that are the letter N. There are 4 large letters and 4 smaller letters. The headstock and neck appear to be 1 piece solid mahogany. The name NOBLE is inlaid in the headstock. The material is identical to my 1981 Yari DY46 acoustic guitar, an iridescent creamy white color that has aged darker amber in places.
I have no idea what kind of pickups are on it. I believe they are single coil. No one can tell me anything about this guitar. I am sure it was the flagship of the Noble guitar line before they went under in the late 60's. The color is chocolate brown with a very slightly lighter sunburst on the top, back of the neck and sides of the headstock.
It is has a great whammy bar. I play it through my Line 6 Spider II, and if you ever wanted to capture the Venturas sound, this one does it. I suspect it sounds a bit like the Epiphone casino, after listening to John Lennon's riffs.
A tone and volume control with a beautifully designed bridge makes the guitar very responsive and it stays in tune consistently

I like rock and blues and ballads. It is very clean. I put it on some distortion, and it flared up kind of bad, but it sounded controllable.
The pickups are high output.

After 40 years of hanging around, I'd say it looks great. Like somebody just took it from under their bed and sold it to me. Only a few marks on the top and a chip of paint or two on the headstock top.

Reliability/Durability : 10
It's heavy to hold and when I picked up in the used guitar store, it was perfectly in tune, with strings that were ancient. The toggle switch is three way. The neck pickup and combination (middle position) are stunningly clear. The bottom pickup cuts out. No bad for such an ancient guitar. I'll get some tuner cleaner

Customer Support : No Opinion
I don't know who even actually made the guitar. And I believe the Noble Company makes screws in Chicago now, according to an expert on Noble guitars. I think there is only 1 person in the USA who has even heard of them.

I've been playing for nigh on to 40 years.
If it was lost or stolen, I could not find another one. It's as rare as a pet chicken in the parking lot at BoJangles. If anyone can tell me anything about this guitar, please do so.
