Ohagan Shark 1981 I used to own one, I bought the guitar new (when i was 14)it was s beautiful sunbirst but after a year of gigs..the finished seems to peel on the top of the neck.. I sent it back to Jemar Corp and I asked them to repaint it black..when it came back it was AWESOME. IT came with dimarzio pickups both ebridge & neck. I installed a pre-amp on it with a mini toggle, I also did some minor modifications like i put brass rings around the pickups ...the brass truss rod cover had my name engrved on it (Brent Shark Bailey) I took it upon myself to put shielding inside the electronic cavity which also has my Social Sec number in there. The guitar was unbeatable, heavy and unique i loved it . In 1993 i traded it in at a local music store and i wish i never had done that now. In 1999 -2000 i ran accross it on the internet on a google search engin ...and was able to contact the guy who owned it ...he was selling it for 800 ..i didnt have the money ..TOTALLY bummed me out...It was my first real good guitar. Im sure its still out there somewhere. If i ever find it again...believe me I WONT PASS IT UP !

The sound was perfect for what i played at the time METAL , I used it with a JCM 800 which gave it an awesome sound ..and the sustain was forever.

The guitar had extremly low action and played very well. I must have learned all of the Randy Rhoads stuff on that guitar. The finish was tough black & nearly 1/4 inch thick...it looked AWESOME

I never had an issue with he guitar. The only reason i traded it was because i needed a new amp head.

I bought the guitar new while Jemar Corp was still in business, For whatever reason the finish on the top of the neck was coming off...and i talked to Jerry O'Hagan himself he offered to repaint it to whatever color i wanted and paid for all the shipping.. HE WAS A GREAT GUY and made one hell of a guitar !

Made in MN, early 80s. Neck through; rock Maple and Mahogany, great taper. Brazilian Rosewood fretboard, 22 frets. Natural finish, thick, hard, and beautiful! It came with DiMarzios but I swapped them out for vintage Ibanez Super 70s, (after trying about 15 different combinations, this gave me the widest range of sound, including a decent clean option). It came wired for 1 volume and two tones; I changed it to 2 vol and one tone, with the tone a push/pull pot for coil splitting. This thing can sound like 5 different axes! Schaller machines, original Leo Quan Badass bridge. Stays in tune forever! Brass nut which looks like it's original; that and the Badass, with the neck through set up give this amazing sustain; clear, ringing tones that won't die till you kill them!

After some mods, this covers all bases, which is what I need. I usually run it live through a Fender 4x10 DeVille; sweet and clear or a** kickin, screamin drive. Incredible pinch harmonics. This is my main live axe. Besides having a sore shoulder the next day, this is my perfect fit. It is a heavy sob. Can't say I dislike the weight though because it has a lot to do with the sustain.

I got it from ebay and the setup needed some tweaking but not much. Nice sensitive truss rod. This is a work of art; not one flaw in the workmanship, beautiful wood selection and finish. The routing is perfect; just what was needed to go was taken out, leaving more wood for better sustain. A lot of thought was put into the layout and placement of everything.

I'd never do a gig without a backup, but if I was forced to, this is what I'd use. You could probably run this over with a truck, then pick it up and start playing it. It's a tank!

I've been playing for thirty years, and have owned and sold too many guitars to count. I have about 50 now, mostly vintage stuff of a wide variety. A lot of neck through jobs. If I had found one of these when I was really getting started with electrics, I would have saved myself a lot of money! The only guitars that compare favorably to this all the way around are some Ibanez Musicians, a couple of vintage Lados, and a Brazos. All neck through. If I lost this somehow, I'd be thouroughly bummed out. He didn't make very many Sharks, and the naturals are really rare, so finding another one would probably involve some kind of miracle! If you see one for sale, GRAB IT!! Paying 300.00 for this is like paying a grand for a Mercedes!

1981 Minneapolis made, neck-through body, 22 frets, 3-way selector with 3 knobs (volume, tone, bass). Two Shaller passive pickups. Thick, thick, thick black finish...never seen one thicker. Distorted version of Explorer style guitar, which can be odd and uncomfortable sitting or standing. Non locking tuners, but stays in tune extremely well because I don't use a whammy bar. I use this as my gig backup and after two months of not tuning it, it was still in tune. The neck is fat which I like, but the frets are pretty small because I am used to the medium-jumbo frets on a Charvel Model 6, for instance. This guitar weighs about the same as my cabinets! It is heavy!

I would presume this was designed for metal, and that is all that I use it for. I don't like using passive pickups and never liked the sustain until I put it through a decent Crate head. When I first heard it through a good Crate head and cab, I couldn't believe the crunch! The neck-through body really makes up for the passive pickups. Never had excessive feedback problems. Has a dark full, thick crunch to it. Clean tone is nothing spectacular. The higher strings tend to produce lower volumes than the lower ones. Switching the guage hasn't improved it. Pretty consistent sounds, excellent and surprisingly unique but appropriate for metal. After all, I do use it for my back-up.

It was bought used so the action was extremely low and comfortable, pickups may need cleaning. The wood on the neck feels corky but it plays well. I don't like how thin the toggle is, but it works fine. No flaws that are from anything but natural wear.

It is a great live guitar except that it will crush your shoulder after an hour. It is so damn heavy! It often feels like all the brass hardware might just break or fall off nut it never has and is very reliable. The finsh will never wear off...it will be the only thing to withstand a nuclear war. Very dependable, other than I have noticed that Explorer styles seem to break strings faster than others. I ave gigged with just this guitar, but I wouldn't recommend it--I once broke my low E and I was humiliated!

Never could or had to deal with them. They went out of business ten years before I knew this guitar existed. I live in MN, so the company was located here, but no one seems to remember them.

It seems to be the quality of a good ESP or even Gibson Explorer. A helluva deal, no one should pass up on. Unfotunately, they're impossible to find. If it was stolen I'd find the guy (and the guitar) and smash the bastard's head in with it...the scary thing is, the guitar would be undamaged because the finish is so thick! If only the pickups were active, it would be dynamic, until then, its crunch is enough to get by with.

1981 Neck through body elongated explorer shape made in Minneapolis MN. 22 frets, 2 Shaller passive humbuckers 3 way switch bad ass bridge 2 vol 1 tone I think the woods are exactly like the explorer with a rosewood finger board. Blue burst finish fat neck. Real heavy guitar. Weighs a ton!

I use this for heavy metal and it is perfect for that. High output pickups and very dark sounding like an eighties flying v or explorer. I plug it straight into a Matchless clubman. Very fat sounding even though it has a brass nut. Cant get a clean sound cause of the pick ups but don't want one.

The guitar is built nice. No factory flaws that I can tell. Routed well. I had to set it up myself cause I bought it used. The only problem I've had were dirty pots and switches.

I've dropped it twice and not a scratch. The finish is very thick. All hardware is solid also. Made damn fine. I NEVER gig without a backup.

Been looking for a neck through funny looking thing for a while but never had the cash. I've tried the Jackson Kellys and a slew of B.C. Riches. Stumbled into this by chance and am so happy. I still want a neck through Warlock but now I dont have to be so impatient. I have been playing for 12 years and this was the best deal I ever came across. If it were stolen I would definatly buy another(if I could find one). This has become a regular weapon in my arsenal!!!!
