The MIK series Laser is imported by October Guitars, who make high-end custom guitars. This guitar was purchased in the summer of 2005. The guitar was made in South Korea. It has a basswood body with bolt on maple neck. 22 frets on the neck. The body is a strat-style, similar to many of the Ibanez and other import guitars available. Has a single volume and single tone, with a 5-position switch. It has two double coil p/u's, with one single coil in the center psoition. I do not know the brand of the pick-ups or hardware. The bridge is a Floyd-Rose style.
The guitar was purchased without a case, although they are available. I purchased a gig-bag locally. It did come with allen keys for the locking tuner assembly.
Sound

This guitar has a great thick rock sound when in the front position, but it also allows very versatile sounds with the selector. In the middle position, I can get a very crisp, thinner sound, and the rear-most position provides a bassier, thicker sound. Good variety of sounds, which is important to me because I gig regularly and play country, rock and top-40 styles, all during the same set. The Laser produces good tones for all of these styles.
Action, Fit, & Finish

October guitars is known for making quality custom guitars, and as promised, they must have set this guitar up before selling to me. It came out of the box with perfect action and intonation. They set it up with the 10 through 46 string gauge that I like also. The guitars was beautiful when received.
Reliability/Durability

I occasionally play live with this guitar, and have used it several times for 3 to 4 sets, with no problems. My other guitars are American made Fender Strats, and an older Les Paul, so the Laser has some good company. It is a very dependable guitar, and it looks good too. The only thing that I do not like is that changing the strings takes much longer that with a tun-o-matic type bridge, due to the Floyd Rose design and locking mechanisms.
Customer Support
:
No Opinion
No real opinion, because I have had no reason to deal with the customer service. Except when I went back to October to purchase another guitar. I guess that says something good about them.

I have been playing for over 20 years, and play semi-professionally. I have had many guitars, Gibsons, Fenders, Guilds, Takamines, Carvins, etc. I took a chance with this guitar, and am very happy. I think that October is OK to deal with, from what I can see. I found out about them from word-of-mouth.
