2004- Dreadnought Acoustic. Imported by Tacoma, has tacoma tuners, Solid Spruce top, Mahogany back and sides, laminated neck with rosewood fingerboard, Herring bone inlay, white binding on neck and top, and gloss finish.

Sound : 10
Bright full bodied sound. Very loud. No Fret buzz. Good player for every day. Has an incredible projection and good sustain. Solid woods make all the difference. Better than Washburn or Fender and most in it's price range.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
This guitar was set up perfectly by Tacoma, action is low and suits finger picking and pretty hard strumming, you have to really whale on it to make it buzz and rattle. The finish is a toner finish and seems a little heavy in a couple of spots and there are a few ripples on the top that you can see when you turn it just right, but for an under
$600 solid wood dread that is this pretty and really sings who cares about the minor stuff. I'm really having to nit pick to come up with something to be critical about here. The color and stain on this guitar are beautiful.

Reliability/Durability : 9
I'm not sure how gigging with this guitar would go. It's lighter than my Martin and doesn't stay in tune quite as well, but it actually has as good or better tone! The finish is good and tough though, it's not a light finish. Maybe too thick for conventional wisdom, but doesn't have any direct effect on the tone or the sustain of the top. You can pluck a string and it will go on and on. No real complaints here either.

I bought this at Best Price Guitar/Oklahoma Vintage Guitar(ebay seller) in Oklahoma City, OK. Bobby B. and his people could not have been better to work with. I wanted an acoustic to play at work and had bought another guitar, but after playing it for a week I hated it. I took it back and Bobby insisted that I should be happy and made me a deal on this Orpheum cause he knew I'd like it. And he was right this is a great little box!! I haven't had any need to talk to Tacoma/Orpheum. When the dealer is awsome you shouldn't have to.

Overall Rating : 10
I've been playing for over 30yrs. Mostly Classic Rock/60's and 70's.
I've owned '68 blue floral Tele, Yamaha 360 acoustic, Gibson Jumbo, and a Washburn Acoustic. I currently have a Martin JC-40 that is pretty incredible.(which is probably why I coudn't live with the other guitar I'd bought from Bobby) I am now the proud owner of the best all wood guitar(for the money) there is, The Orpheum OD-24SWM! I can't say enough positive about this guitar it is absoulutely a delight to play(and I play it nearly every day). It actually sounds like a multi-thousand dollar machine, it plays good, and I LOVE IT!

By far the best guitar I have ever had. This guitar is a 2004 model and it is an all solid wood guitar with no laminates which is why I bought it. It is a Dreadnought full size guitar with Solid Mahogany back and sides and a solid Sitka Spruce top. The neck is mahogany and has great feel to my hand. Another reason I bought it was how easy it is to play. The one and three quarter inch nut width is very very comfortable and the action is set low and it doesn't hurt my fingers.

The Sound of the guitar is loud and clean. My uncle has a Martin D28 and he says this guitar sounds every bit as good as his but this Orpheum is much easier to play than his Martin. The fact that the guitar has no plywood in it like most guitars in this price range really makes a difference in the sound. The low notes are strong and sustaining and the highs are crisp and clear. The middle notes are well balanced each range is very discernable.

The set up on the guitar was done at Oklahoma Vintage Guitar and it is very low and easy to play with no buzzing. The top wood is very well bookmatched and I couldn't tell where one side started and the other ended. The wood quality seems to be as good as any I have seen and the full gloss finish is clean and clear. The rosewood has a nice grain but it is not particulary stunning but it does sound good.

Reliability/Durability : 9
I have played the guitar both indoors and outdoors over the past year and it holds a tune very well. It has a lifetime warranty but at this point I don't see how I would ever need work on it but you never know what might happen in the future. The guitar didn't come from the Factory with a case and I had to buy one when I ordered it and my case keeps it well protected which would also help it last much longer. It also didn't have a strap button on the neck heel but I had one installed when I bought the guitar, but that was only a few bucks.

I have not had to deal with Tacoma as a company on the matter of guitar repairs but I hear they are easy to work with and eager to please their customers. I will say that Oklahoma Vintage Guitar in Oklahoma City where I bought the guitar was super to work with. They have a reputation for really taking care of their customers and I received the guitar well set up and very very quickly after I purchased it online.

Overall Rating : 10
Overall I have been playing guitar now for 16 years and I have owned about 10 acoustics in that time. I even had a Martin D1 back about ten years ago for a couple of years, but I must say, this is every bit the guitar my D1 was. The only thing I wish this guitar had that it does not is an electronic pickup. I know I can get that installed later but sometimes I need to plug in and just can't with this one. All in all I am still amazed that I was able to get an all solid wood guitar with no laminates in the body for this price. Also, it sounds better now than it did when I bought it.
