I am judging the sound as an amateur player. I will characterize the sound as: very balanced and full sound, warm but resonant bass, very strong mids, nice high notes, lots of sustain and overtones. I love the sound of this guitar.
This guitar compliments well to my playing: rhythmic and fingerstyle praise and worship music.
Action, Fit, & Finish

Medium low action, custom neck shape and nut width makes it easy to play. It gets a 9 because of a few small imperfections. Very minor.

I want to purchase another Paragon before they raise their prices. What a steal!! I just can't believe what I get for the price I paid. I still have the GAS disease, but now I have Paragon Guitars to feed my cravings!! Great job Rob.

Made in 2002 in Vancouver, BC, Canada. Handmade by a couple of ex-Larrivee guys. 12 frets clear of the neck. Wonderful tight grained solid spruce top. Body and sides are the most fantasitic maple I have ever seen on a guitar. The neck is mahogany and the fingerboard is ebony. Rosette is a very classy herring-bone between two thin bands of silver. Very nice. The headstock is again pure class. I believe I got the first one they made that was the squared off Martin style. It has the tateful Paragon logo inlaid in mother of pearl in the headstock.
Squared off ebony bridge. Everything about the appearance is pure class and lets the natural beuty of the carefully selected woods do the talking.

This is a parlor sized guitar. I think the body size is comparable to the Larrivee 00 - it's bigger than the Larrivee Parlor and deeper.
I was a bit leary of the maple back and sides in a guitar as small as this since I thought it might be too bright. Not so - the sound of this little guitar is unbelievable right out of the gate and I'm sure it will only get better.
Nice deep lows that reverberate through the guitar and into your body. Balanced mids and lovely highs. I'm no expert in sonics but I know what I like and this has it.
Action, Fit, & Finish

Action was set up med/low and it felt great right from the start. Inside the guitar is as clean and neat as I have ever seen. On a hanbuilt guitar like this, I would have liked to see the luthiers signature on the label for a personalized touch.
One very tiny air bubble in the finish on the neck that was carefully shaved off with a razor blade.
Everything about the fit and finished indicated quality and pride in workmanship - well done but you still can't get a 10 because of the lillte air bubble and the unsigned label.

Since everything about this guitar seems to indicate quality construction, I have no reason to doubt that it will be around far langer than I am.

Has not needed any repairs but my few emails to the luthier have been promptly replied to. I think these guys are going to be very focused on attention to their clients as they are clearly positioning these fine intruments to the high end of the market.

I have been playing guitar for a few years now - did not take it up until I was in my 40's. I have a couple of favorite Larrivees and a Martin D28 and a Ted Thompson T2. All are differnt and I like each one for different reasons. This guitars finish and detailing make the Martin jealous and it is very comfortable hanging out with the Thompson. I have never seen another parlor style guitar as nice as this one.
