Paragon OM-03 Custom

This is a Canadian-made solid sitka spruce top and rosewood back and sides guitar with a custom-made neck and inlay. Right out of the box, I was very pleased with the appearance with it. It is very classy and elegant. From the headstock, logo, 3-piece mahogany neck, inlay, herringbone rosett, and the bridge plate, everything compliments each other. The neck was custom-made, shaped EXACTLY to fit my hand. There is a Psalm 96 inlay which is well-done, too. I had the K&K Pure Western pickup installed. It comes with a deluxe hardshell case.

I love the sound of this rosewood guitar. The base notes are clear and strong but not overpowering where they drown out the high notes. Each string is alive, with excellent note separation. The sustain is quite amazing. The lows, midrange and high notes sound so well together with great balance. It is every enjoyable to hear this instrument. I play praise and worship music with strumming and fingerstyle. This guitar is very versatile and it suits my playing.

The finish reflects the skill of the luthiers. Very nice! The action was set to low by my request. The neck width was custom-made at 43mm for my small hands. The shape of the neck was rounded to a C shape to my personal preference. This guitar is a blast to play! It is so hard for me with small hands to find a guitar that's comfortable to play with. This guitar has all the right custom features to help my needs. They really did a great job to fit my needs. The pickup sounds great through my Ultrasound D-50 amp.

I am going to test out this guitar this Sunday with the church PA and soundboard. I believe this guitar will do well at live playing. It is very well put together. I will take good care of this instrument so it will last a long time. I might do another follow up review after 6 months for this category.

I have been playing guitar for about 4 years(serious playing). I have gone through many guitars trying to find that "right one". I am glad my wife understands. I have tried Bourgeois OM Artisan, Taylor 314, and few others at the local Guitar Center. This is the one! I love to have Paragon Guitars make a parlor guitar maybe with a cutaway for me in the future when I have the money. Great work guys!!
