I am the owner of one of the 3 13-fret Slope Dreads. Mine is Cocobolo with an Adirondack Spruce top. It is amazing!!! I've owned dozens of acoustics ranging from $500 - $5000 but now only own 2 Paragons. I'll never buy anything but a Paragon again.

*****It's disgusting that the bogus review is still posted below.*****

This is my third Paragon, and my second custom. This guitar is a Slope Shoulder 13 Fret Dreadnaught. The back and sides are extremely old mahogany, and the top is Adirondack spruce. Bracing is pre-war scalloped. This guitar started the planning stages as a "no frills" basic model to be used as my stage guitar. After considerable communication with Rob Bustos, the idea of a real "old school" guitar came about. The end result is a beautiful interpretation. The guitar has rosewood binding, herringbone purfling, rosette, end wedge, and backstrip. The headstock is a very traditional shape, with Gotoh Vintage Open Back tuners. The neck is five piece, and the ebony fretboard is bound in rosewood. It also has a pyramid bridge and K&K electronics. The final touch was a Tor-tis pickguard

All kidding aside, this is one of the loudest guitars I've ever played. The bottom end literally growls. The guitar has tons of headroom, but still performs weel played fingerstyle. She also loves dropped tunings. Great seperation and intonation that's as good as it gets!

I had the rather strange pleasure of reading a review of this guitar on the UMGF, as one of Rob's friends in Vancouver came by and gave her a good play shortly before shipping to me.

Flawless.......one of the reasons it's my third Paragon.

Reliability/Durability : 10
The best of the best as far as hardware goes. This is truly a world class instrument.

The best relationship you can develope with a luthier.

At the Healdsburg guitar Festival last year, I had the honor of having one of my guitars shown by Paragon (see review MJC-03HR). Rob Bustos and I also became great friends. The price point for a basic Paragon has risen twice since I ordered my first one. Knowing the quality that goes into each and every one, that won't stop me from commissioning another.........yep, a 12 string next time!
