Picked this Parker up from an online shop for $519. I guess it's new since it was sold as new but i don't know the year from the serial number. I bought the grey metallic. The style and specs are well covered here so i'll give my opinion only. I don't give glowing reviews unless the guitar deserves it, so if you want fawning look elsewhere.

Sound : 7
A decent sounding guitar, but you can do much better for $520. Pick one up used in good shape. The pickups are medium output compared to seymours or andersons, but do a decent job. Stock pickups in lower line guitars these days usually need upgrading. I could probably live with these but I'm selling it instead. The coil tap is ok, i use it as a quick volume control in the middle pickup position. This isn't a strat, so don't expect great single coil tones. You can get a somewhat tele like sound coil tapped in the bridge position, but it's a little thin. This isn't the brightest guitar. In fact, it's a little subdued when running clean but it distorts well. The pots are good. None of the zero, ten or nothing nonsense. I like the weight and the neck, I dislike the construction flaw. More on that in a bit.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 2
MAJOR flaw was the neck rout. I guess the CNC was pissed that day, because the neck on mine is tilted. I called the dealer and he said the others he had in stock were exactly the same, so he wouldn't take it back. Tech support wouldn't answer my emails, so there you are. Take it with whatever you like, salt, pepper, bud, jack.

It's also touted as one piece mahogany but you have no way of knowing. I've read on the parker forums of people buying natural finish parkers that are 2 and 3 pieces. I have no problems at all with glued woods - my strat is two piece and sounds great, but I have a feeling these aren't cut from slabs. Setup was OK, but this is a fixed bridge guitar, how hard is it to set that up?

I'll tell you. Pretty hard when the neck is tilted off axis.

Everything else was fine, but flaws like this don't belong on guitars with $800 list prices.

Reliability/Durability : No Opinion
Seems decently built and with decent hardware. Finish is good. I can't say much here because as I said, I'm selling this to recover some of what I spent on it. The neck problem is bogus. If you like sighting down a neck that tilts to one side, go for it. Faulty guitars should be replaced or never get by inspection. This isn't $150 Starpower stuff. This thing was over 5 bills. Sure I could shim it, but it's new. Better to recover as much now because if I wait I won't get squat. I want the pieces of my toys to fit together correctly.

Customer Support : 1
Wrote them, never heard anything. Could have been spam filters, I use hotmail. The dealer? The name will never leave my lips again nor will my wallet open up for them. Maybe the guy's being honest and his stock of p42's all have tilted necks. I don't know.

Overall Rating : 6
Been playing 10 years. I've owned maybe a dozen guitars, and I always come back to Fender for single coil and Godin for humbuckers in the end.

Look, this is a good guitar, no doubt. But if I had it to do over I'd either try before I buy (in a store) or go a step up for the Nitefly if a Parker is your thing. I bought it for the buzz, but came down real fast with the crooked neck. There are good ones out there, just go to the store and take your time. Buying online is tricky now days.

Black Metallic finish, dual Parker Stinger humbucking pickups with a push-pull coil tap on the tone control. One piece mahagony body, one piece maple neck, the laquoring on the neck is wonderfully ergonomic. The ebony fretboard is fast and slippery in the sense that you can get from one place to another with minimal friction via the neck or fretboard. While a bolt on neck the play is similar to a well designed Gibson in the SG and other small bodied instrument. The feel is just wonderful, and although there appear to be no differences from the PM20 which I also have I'd swear this neck was a bit thinner and flatter; not flat like a Ibanez Wizard neck, but not in Gibson slim taper or Fender "C" style. It's closest to a fat Wizard and laughably is considered fat in the brochures. Sorry, but this is a nice tapered neck what has a bit of a curve but not much in terms of fat....and this is one of the things that makes the P42 so damn playable.

The tuners are grover 18:1 ratio and stay in tune - period. The hardware is black and despite the black body still has a new looking vibe while maintaining a classic design. The stop tail and tune-o-matic style bridge afford lots of tweakability and feature a low action. If changing from the .009 strings you'll want to tweak the truss rod a tiny bit. You may need to do a bit of filing at the nut, but really, this guitar is simple, elegant and near perfect out of the box. The gig bag is in the $50 - $70 range and fits like a glove.

Beyond a single volume and tone control that's about it other than a 3 way pickup selector.

Sound : 10
The volume and tone controls are superbly designed. Find a tone you like and lower the volume. Unlike far too many controls the P42's slowly and gracefully change volume and even slower, change timbre. The tone control is more like a filter. Move it and the sound timbre changes, but mostly the overtones, the fundemental timbre remains similar. It is not a feature expected in a $590 guitar, and I've had countless high end guitars that can't touch the Parkers for their control over the pickups' sound.

In humbucking mode the sound is fat, large and extremely well defined, so much that a warm blusey tone can be gotten but backing almost all the way off the volume and upon turning it up hearing a massive slab of sound typical of hard rock or metal. Even better are the lightly distorted timbres that lose the distortion but within so many increments that you can find half a dozen of combinations between distortion and light to none, and that doesn't include the tone control which also creates more timbres to work with. In fact, when developing sounds on an amp or multi-device like the PODxt I use I'd roll off the tone and volume, just in case you want some extra oomph' for soloing.

No matter what you play, you'll find a lot of wonderful timbres to work with. It's great loud, soft, with massive overdrive or as a technique style guitar, although it's capable of brawn and beauty. But it is not a twangy guitar other than the dual pickup position and more so in humbucking mode. Try the coil tap though, as there are tones you'll get from single coil that are different from humbuckers, but in the difference of a P90 compared to a Stratocaster type sound. Then again, look at the hardware. You didn't really expect the P42 to sound like a Strat?

You will be surprised and how close some Telecaster type sounds you can match, mostly in the darker tones and not really in the bridge pickup position, although there's added crispness using the P42 in single coil in this position.

People say there's no noise in single coil mode but I'm ammending that to, the noise is minimal in single coil mode providng the sound is without buzzing or noise in the humbucking mode. If there's a buzz you'll hear it lounder in single coil mode.

With a variety of sounds covering some Telecaster to lots of Gibson styled thin line guitars (think SG, Flying V, Explorer) you'll be pleased. Even some of the classic P90 sounds are available without the noise, and most pleasant, huge and fat like modern guitars ala S series Ibanez and Jacksons. Best of all, it still has a Parker sound and with the ability to tweak to your hearts content, your sound is there to be had; and that is the Parker quality speaking.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
Fret dressing, neck joint, tuners, everything beyond pickup adjustment is cherry. The bridge and neck are a joy to use as long as you like thin bodied, trim necked guitars.

The fit an function are perfect. I had a couple of problems with a different batch of P42s which were returned and replaced in 24 hours. This different batch guitar is everything I've come to expect from Parker.

Reliability/Durability : 9
Although thin this is not a frail guitar. It's build is tight, as in the neck feels well situated and should last as long you take decent care of it. Treat this as a good guitar and don't try smacking it into amp cabinets and you'll be fine.

Robust is the word that comes to mind. Strap buttons are on tight, the finish is well set and seems to be...robust.

I wouldn't gig without backup(s).

Customer Support : 7
I was unimpressed by the service center when dealing with an electrical problem on two guitars from the same lot. I felt like the person paid no mind to my experience and while I'll mention it in this context, don't go around saying I've been playing for 30+ years and have experienced issues like the ones that happened a short time before.

However, the service person said they'd take care of any problem and they sounded convicted and even proud of that, so they'll still get a decent although not as good as it could have been number.

Overall Rating : 10
It's a killer if you know what you are buying.

Though it has a cubist vision of the Stratocaster look this is a more ballsy guitar. One I'd put up against mahagony bodied axes. I used Gibson guitars as a focal point as Parker P42 sounds and plays a lot like the Gibson solidbodies. It reminds me of a Flying V I had but with infinately more tonal capabilities. It also reminds me of a $1300+ American Fat Strat or along those lines, the definition is wonderful although the Stratocaster sound will not be found with the P42.

A late 60s Les Paul Jr with P90s or Humbuckers will be really close, particularly with the mid to neck position using the coil tap. The neck is skinny compared to Gibsons so don't think of this as a traditional guitar, as it's vastly different with it's hopped up neck and ebony fretboard.

The parts are quality and for those that have compulsions to change pickups, don't give in, you will probably do yourself a favor, especially since these Stingers sound good.

I compared this to PRS SE series and Schecter glued neck guitars. While both sound good in their own right, and the PRS almost a clone of the SG, the Schecter is a bit more aggressive but not as capable in terms of tone, and I like Schecter guitars, so it's not like I just like Parker or think the new toy is the best thing out there.

I use a 1995 Carvin LC127T which is too bright for all my work but somewhat similar with the tonal variety - something that you pay extra for with the Carvin. But playing-wise and the comfort I'd say that's the guitar I'd compare the P42 to, and that's not really close.

Sound-wise this is like a classic Gibson with a touch of a P90 and even Telecaster tone. That's a lot of tone, certainly enough to get me away from my other favorite guitar, the Line 6 Variax, which is nowhere as nice to play but tons of fun with the various preset models and those I develop for use with "world" type instruments.

I'd say the Parker recreates the feel of no other guitar and gives a large tonal range in a $520 guitar, something not even the PRS SE series guitars can come close to doing.

Simple and elegant...
Maple one piece neck, grover tuners, one piece mahagony body. Two Parker humbuckers, stop tail bridge and bridge ala' Gibson's SG and Les Paul designs. Hardware is in black and the neck is bolt on with a small part of the truss rod at the bottom.

The neck is slightly wider than their PM20, which I also have, with medium frets and outstanding quality although the frets could have been better dressed although the issue has to do with fret wire being sightly longer than the neck - maybe a milimeter or two. Try running your finger down the side of a neck. Thankfully it's not noticible when playing, and the ebony fretboard is clean of placement dots, which are on the side of the neck, so don't worry over this too much. It might be doing you a favor in playing by not having the typical stuff on the fretboard missing. Personally, I hate the mother-of-pearl or other indicators both aesthetically and from a playing standpoint.

The maple neck is lightly finished and plays wonderfully, like the best Fenders I ever used. There is a coil tap for the guitar although it works on both pickups from what I was able to tell.

Sound : 10
The sound is beautifully balanced and when working is so good that despite two defective guitars I'm accepting a 3rd. On the 2nd guitar, the neck pickup worked correctly (I hope) and between it's humbucking and coil tap modes provided tones I haven't heard since my old Gibson gear and a '62 Strat. Lots of Strat users seem to expect this slamming twang and consider it greatness. But the best Stratocasters I've owned were darker than the twanging sounds and offered a wide range of tonal qualities.

The P42's volume and tone controls are well designed with consistant quality sound no matter how low it goes and the tone control distributing considerable change in the guitar's tone, not just a lowering of a radio's tone control, like so many guitars, particularly in the $500 range. Here it's an organic sounding interaction with the tone of the guitar. It is yet another hint of greatness you get with such an inexpensive guitar.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 8
Despite the fret wire being a bit longer than the neck. The neck feels fantastic, like a mix of older Stratocaster "C" necks and more modern designs like Ibanez's Wizard, although it is neither anywhere as thin or wide.

Still, the neck isn't what I'd call fat! It most reminds me of a 1980 Flying V I had but a tad tapered at the bottom, and unlike the "V" it is not painted, which is nice for this guitar.

The finish is beautiful. I went for 2 Metallic Grey guitars, but because of the problems with pickups working correctly, and the guitars all being from the same order, I purchased a Black P42 which I'm not too happy about. I hate black guitars and have yet to see a finish that didn't show every part a finger touched. Beyond that, I like this guitar and want one.

On guitar #1 the setup was perfect. On #2 the person who set it up should go back to tech lessons. The bridge pickup was high. So high that the setup person raised the bridge rather than fix the pickup height. Once done, the action was spectacular.

The score is an 8 although I'd be justified in givng it a 2 considering the pickup/pickup selector problem and Guitar #2's outright stupid or lazy setup. But the guitar is obviously well made and probably has a batch problem with a bad component. I had this happen on a Gibson Firebird as well. It took 4 guitars, and that was the dealer's stock to get me a guitar.

Reliability/Durability : 2
Sorry about this, but it's a 2.

Whether there was a batch problem or not, no one caught it! The guitar is such a beauty that it's unforgivable not to catch this. And it should have been caught by the setup team in the U.S. besides the Korean makers.

Beyond this serious issue I would have given the P42 a 10. I've worked with Parker guitars for years and no matter where they were built, they held up fine.

Customer Support : 5
I called after the store started having concerns but also provided better than avaerage customer service. Calling Parker I was put on hold for 30 minutes, called again and was told, 'No one's here to help you can I take your...(silence)"

Meanwhile, I'm taking a color I hate just to get a working P42. The black models came into the store a month earlier than the Grey ones. Chances of a problem with the slightly older guitars are nill.

Overall Rating : 10
Great guitar that had a bad run - literally. I have other Parkers, all of which are great. I was somewhat surprised how good what I heard was. Fit and finish are beyond anything at it's price point. If the problem is fixed I'd buy from Parker again without hesitation.

This is a 2004 p-42 Parker.Gray, locking Tuners,One of the finest necks you will find on a inexpensive guitar.I up graded the pickups to 2 seymour duncans;Jazz in neck and JB in bridge. IT was well worth the money.Made the guitar sound much better. Has coil tap.Three way switch.Alot of sound diversity.

Sound : 10
Great!
With the seymour duncans I up graded to.Much quieter than the parker stingers and much much better sound.I can coil tap them and they are still guiet.

ABSOLUTE BEST! YOU WOULD HAVE TO BUY A PUAL REED SMITH OR A FENDER AMERICAN DELUXE GET THE SAME ACTION AS ON THIS GUITAR.

You can check out the websites for all the features but its the same as any of the other ones listed here. My guitar came with a real nice Parker gig bag also. This guitar is quite lite. Overall features are nothing too special but does the job it needs to. Its only offered in two colours that I've seen, Metallica black and metallic grey... kinda plain. It would've looked awesome with a transparent flame top. The "fly" body shape is very unique although I found its not as comfortable as a strat body because the top horn on this guitar can dig into your chest if you lean hard against it. But like any new guitar, it just takes a bit of adjusting and then you're fine. The best part on this guitar is the neck... its super FAST! Smooth like butta, your fingers will glide over the frets easily. Great for lead guitarists. Almost a perfect score here, but I'm knocking a point off for the body shape and colour choices.

Sound : 9
Has pretty good overall sound that can cater to pretty much all styles. The mids are full and the highs are bright. The lows are good but not as bassy as some other guitars. I have a Washburn MG-70 also and I would say the Washburn sounds more rich and bright with more resonance when its unplugged. The body on it is also thicker and made of alder, so that might have something to do with it. However, when both are played through an amp, the difference is subtle. The stop-tail piece on the P42 gives it nice sustain while the stock pickups are good and can provide some nice crunch, or cleans but the single coil taps lacks that real twang sound. But I've yet to hear a guitar with coil tap that can really do an excellent job of getting that twang. The pickups are mostly noise free except when you have the coil tap and your amp gain or volume turned high, you can hear a subtle noise. Also, the humbuckers are not as loud as I would've liked for this type of guitar. Overall, the sound will be good for most people for most styles. I plan to hopefully slap some seymour duncans in this baby in the future which should really make her rip!

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
Perfect set-up when I got it... nothing needed to be adjusted. The action is amazing on this guitar. You can get lower than a snake's belly and still have the whole board sounding nice with virtually no fret buzz. I'm not sure what gauge strings it came with but they look like 9-42.

Reliability/Durability : No Opinion
Haven't had it long enough yet to make an opinion but so far so good. I do wish the hardware was metal instead of plastic.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Didn't deal with them.

Overall Rating : 9
Overall, its a solid guitar. I would not get one for the retail price however which is currently $519 US. Its kinda overpriced in that range, if you were to spend that, you might as well go the extra $100 bucks and get something much better. For the price I paid which was $319 US, it has tremendous value. I suggest looking for a slightly used one or a floor model if you want to get this. The best thing on this guitar is the neck... it is butter smooth! You just have to try it to believe it. The neck playability is better than most guitars at twice its price. My only real complaint is the color choices, and the fact that its not as comfortable as a strat body if you play sitting down. Otherwise if you can get a good deal on this guitar, you should seriously think of getting one.

Adding to previous post I'd made when first got the instrument.
I'll grump about 1 thing ... the auto locking tuners give you a hard time stinging heavier guage ... holes are kinda small.

You can get it all outta this light weight guitar (easy on the shoulder for gigs)
Nice deep tones and brilliant clear highs with the lowest action I've ever had ... this guitar plays me! Like the music and ideas just keep flowing with no end in sight.

Got 10-52 but they are like butter ... would like to string with 11's but donno if the tuner's little holes will let em through. Grover auto locking ... black like the finish.

Lowest action that's very playable I've ever had

Parker 2005 P-42 electric guitar. Chances are, if you're reading this then you at least have a basic grasp of the stats. For the uninformed: Korean-made. Typical Parker double-cut body style with typical minimalist Parker headstock. Mahogany body with 25.5 scale maple neck w/ Ebony fretboard & 22 nickel-silver frets. Dual Parker Stinger alnico humbuckers with coil-splitting via a push-pull tone pot. 3-way selector switch. Tune-O-Matic bridge and Grover locking 18:1 tuners. Two finishes: metallic black and metallic gray. High-quality gig-bag, truss rod adjustment tool, and guitar cable included.

Overall, the guitar is quite loaded with features, for the price. What's even better is that, despite being Korean-made, this guitar is QUALITY, through and through.

Sound : 9
I listen to and play a vast variety of styles, my favorites being Jazz, Funk, and Blues. I truly could not be happier with any other guitar that costs less than $1,000. This guitar, despite its rather simplistic appearance of 2 pups, a T-O-M bridge, a 3-way switch, and 2 pots, is capable of high variety. I generally play through a Fender Deluxe 85, and I love the sounds I get. Everything from a smooth and deep jazz sound, to a bright, spanky funk sound, to a ballsy, crunchy punk or metal sound, and everything in between. You can jump from BB King to GWAR to Funkadelic in a matter of seconds. The only thing it doesn't do well is a hardcore, mangled death metal sound, and it probably could do that given proper effects pedals or modification. Played on "standard" settings, it has a warm, rich sound, with a full midrange, a strong low end, and a sweet high end.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
This guitar was virtually perfect from the factory. The intonation was dead-on fantastic. I just had to spend a few seconds tuning up, and it was good to go. I was literally taken aback with this guitar. I'm generally a high-end and boutique guitar elitist. I didn't WANT to believe that a guitar company could mass-produce a guitar this well and sell it for this cheap, especially a korean-made guitar. The action is fantastic. There's no fret buzz. Anywhere. Every single one of the 132 fret positions (22 frets x 6 strings) is buzz-free. The operation is virtually noise-free. There's no noise operating any of the pots or switches. The guitar is stunning. The fingerboard is a deep, dark mocha color with a few light-chocolate colored grain lines. The action is moderately low, and the guitar plays like a dream. The finish on mine is Metallic Black, and it looks absolutely fantastic, and is highly polished (it's like a black mirror that is sparkly when the light hits it just right). All the hardware is quality. The wood feels and sounds like quality wood. Overall, this guitar is very high-quality. However, I have to knock off a point from the score, since the guitar is only available in Metallic Black and Metallic Gray. This is a great, versatile guitar. They should offer it in a few less-drab choices (even though the Metallic Black IS quite beautiful).

Reliability/Durability : No Opinion
I don't gig, and I don't feel that I've exposed it to harsh enough conditions to validly take a stance on this to the extent where I can give it a score. However, everything feels like it is reliable and sturdy.

Customer Support : 10
I've dealt with Parker Guitars quite a few times. They answer your questions. They don't avoid you. They don't try to BS you, and they don't give you the run-around. I have to say that I trust them as a company, and coming from me, that's saying quite a bit. I haven't had to get the guitar repaired yet, and it comes with a 1-year warranty.

Overall Rating : 10
I've been playing for about 5 years now, and I own a Gibson Les Paul Standard and a Fender Standard Stratocaster, along with a couple other guitars. If something were to happen to this, I would most likely buy another one rather than replace it with a different guitar. It's a fantastic guitar, it really is. If I could change one thing about it, it would be the addition of piezo pickups. I've played many guitars, and I have never played a single guitar that can beat this one in general features and worksmanship for under $700. If you're a beginner who's serious about guitar, an intermediate who wants something they can grow with, or a pro who wants a low-mid cost guitar to mess around with without having to sacrifice on quality, then this guitar is ideal. It's not without faults, but it's really as close to perfection as you'll ever get for this price or anything within a few hundred dollars of this price.

Newer model, Parker Pickups, 3 way selector with a volume, and coil tap on the tone. Dual Parker Humbuckers with black hardware, and a Les Paul style stop tailpiece (don't play tremolos). Grover Locking Tuners, Awesome gig-bag included, and bought the WAYYYY overpriced SKB hardcase. (ALMOST 1/3rd the price of the guitar, list)

Sound : 10
I play rock and blues and punk. All mutual styles right? It shreds on all the styles. Clean the pickups are silent whether humbucking or with coil tap on. The pickups are extremely hot when you need them to be, but very well balanced and you can get an amazing variety of sounds whether clean or dirty. It also stays in tune like no other guitar Ive owned. I don't know is this is a hallmark or guitars with the locking grovers, but it stays in tune VERY well.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
The action was set by Scott of Fat Cat Guitars in Carpenterville, IL, who is alos the owner of this fine shop. The action with the stock 9's was excellent as was intonation, but I had it reset for .10-.46 while I was still in the store. Pickups were well adjusted, as they screw into the body. The guitar finish is flawless, everything fits like an instrument costing $700 more, and for a korean guitar, once again, a top notch area.

Reliability/Durability : 9
I don't know how well this guitar will stand up, however it seems roadworthy. We'll see after a year of gigging! The finish is thick, and I'm sure it will last fine. I have changed the strap buttons to Schallers, but the originals seem about average. A guitar of this magnitude should come with Schallers right off the shelf. I would absolutely play this guitar without a backup, theoretically, however I never play ANY gig without a backup guitar, just for reasons of tonal variance.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Never dealt with Parker, but I have heard they have an excellent service department, which is only a few miles from my house. Buy from your local shop, and not from the internet, the extra dollars are well worth the customer service and peace of mind you will recieve in exchange!

Overall Rating : 10
I have been playing for 23 years, My main guitars are a 1974 fender Telecaster custom. It's from low on the tree, and now that it has fully dried, it sounds like no other and is light as can possibly be. I also have a mid 80's Peavey patriot, which has pickups that are hotter than hell. It's my main barre-chord, punk rock guitar. I would probably buy another Parker if this one was lost or stolen. I don't think there is anything I wish it had, other than a wider selection of available colors (black or grey, exciting). I would buy another without reserve.

See above except black metal flake finsh, gig bag.
I am very happy to have it.

Sound : 10
It crys .. it screams .. it growls .. it whispers....

Very pleasing sonic qualities, can get the timbre of a 335 Gibson (ala Carlton), Robben Ford tone especially with a Dunlop CryBaby, BK Butler Tube Driver into a Fender Blues Junior ('04 stock) --- achieve this with low action truss rod adjustment (for a light touch). From a solid body guitar!!! Exceptional.

My, talk about getting different sounds from my Fly!!! Touch the volume down a bit and tons of warm midrange with highs still intact -- full volume and get a clear clean tone. Man -- I can dial in a Stat sound that blows away the strat I built (a guitar everyone wants to buy from me)think Hendrix/SRV tones, dial up a 335, or a LP ... endless tone.

Have had this for 2 days now and cannot put it down. Up all night and after about 5 hrs rest picked it up again.

Get nice warm jazz tones, screaming/growling blues, rock, country whatever it's there in this instrument.

Set the action up higher for a stiffer feel and every one within hearing range will come to see what the wall of sound is coming from. It can be a very loud guitar. Tone forever.

Got 4 into the store and all needed setup especially the P20's. Let me say this, these Parker Flys are a work of Art to look at and very fine instruments to play.

Needed to setup the neck and action for my touch but it was very playable right out of the box. Made in Korea doesn't mean inferior wokmanship looking at these babies.

Action is sweet all along the fretboard and it does play true in tune.
Beautiful work these Parkers are.

Reliability/Durability : 10
Withstand live playing??? Well I hope I am live when I play!!!
Once set up, it just stays in tune and that is a real plus.

Overall Rating : 10
Been playing since before time began it seems ... 42 years now and counting. Have had Mesa Boogies, Marshal stuff, Fender and a few solid state amp setups. Strats, made a few myself that turned out top notch. Ibanez Artists, Gibsons LP's ... too many guitars searching for the right combo for the sounds in my head and ears. Now playing a Blues Junior with CryBaby and BK Bulter and of course a P42 Fly.

I would like the body surface have a contour to rest my forearm one ... the body edge is a little uncomfortable.

I picked this one out for the playability and sonic versatility .

I am waiting for the arival of a Fly deluxe (US made) that I most probably will buy. No wonder so many studio players are using these .. they inspire you to play ...

Great feel, and tone.

2004 Korean Made, 22 Fret 25.5" scale bolt-on neck, Ebony Fretboard. Mahogany Neck & body. Grover 18:1 Locking Tuners, 2 Parker Humbuckers, 3-way switch, single Volume & Tone with Coil Tap. Finish is Metallic Grey. Comes with a Gig Bag.

Sound : 9
This is a very versatile guitar, it handles blues and metal quite well, with both a humbucker tone and quasi-single-coil tone in both positions courtesy of the coil taps. There's little noise even with the coil taps, quite full sound. It does lack the Piezo bridge pickup of the odler P-Series and the highend Parkers.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
The action is superb. Nice and low, with no fret buz. Strings are .009-.042 D'Addario's. Action does vary between guitars (The store I bought from had another with an even lower action).

Pickups are dead on, fit & finish of the body is perfect.

Reliability/Durability : 8
It's pretty solid, especially considering the light weight. Haven't had it long enough to really know the durability.

Customer Support : 5
1 year limited wrantee, requires return to US Factory. haven't deat with their support, but they have an excellent rep.

I've been playing for 2 years. Have an Ibanez AEG10BK and play though a POD2.0.

I would definitely buy this guitar again if ever stolen, it's a steal at twice the cost.

Compared to an Ibanez RG550, half-price, plays a little better, does lack the single-coil.
