I purchased my P-44 over the summer and have had some time to get familiar with it. You know, get over the initial excitement so to speak. What drew me to this guitar is it's versatility. All the specs have already been written in other reviews so I'm not going to duplicate it here. My P-44 is black with an ebony finger board. This is the first time I ever purchased a guitar with out playing it. To say the least I was very pleased with the instrument when it arrived.

Sound : 8
This is a very subjective thing depending on your styles and taste in and instrument, setup ect... I wanted a guitar that could cover a wide range of sounds. Pseudo acoustic to strat bluesy sounds with the aid of the coil split to full on humbucker sounds. Does it meet my needs. You bet!!! I play in a church praise band. So there are so many different flavors/styles that need to be covered. This guitar fits the bill to a tee for my purposes. I play it through a SansAmp Tri-AC into a digitech RP350 for post effects like reverb, chorus, delay... I have a Barber Tone Press on the front end into the SansAmp into the PA and use a Roland keyboard amp for monitoring at this time (currently looking at purchasing a new guitar amp)... At home I run it through a ART Tube MP studio into my PC into ProTools.

The one thing I do want to mention is the piezo picks up does sound thin on it's own. So don't expect it to work miracles and sound like a real acoustic guitar. With the aid of the magnetic pickups you can get a pretty full sound that suffices though. I knew this going into it so I wasn't disappointed.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
I found the finish to be impeccable. It's a beautiful instrument. More so is it's playability. The action is set for what I want out of an instrument. Low, no fret buzz at all. All the pots and switches work smooth. The guitar stays in tune pretty well compared to other electrics I've owned. That's a big plus to me.

Reliability/Durability : 8
This is a well crafted instrument. Dependable and looks like it will last for a long time with out problems. I don't have a back up so this is it!

Customer Support : No Opinion

Overall Rating : 9
For the price and performance this is a no brainer for me. It's met my expectations and then some. I would have no problem making the same choice again on purchasing this instrument if it were stole or something like that. If you're in a similar situation where you need an instrument that can cover a lot of musical styles. Check it out.

Solid Mahogany body, 22 fret neck with piezo pickup, Parker Stinger humbuckers, natural finish, fishman style tunomatic bridge system. Aluminum knobs w/ 3 way selector. Grover Tuners(awesome)

Sound : 8
Meh...I bought this guitar for its comfort and playability, not its out of the box sound. I play mostly progressive jazz and metal, the pickups were a little squaqy. Too much mid and no bass(playing through a Peavy Triple X half stack, svetlana tubes, gt6, BBE sonic maximizer, and a host of pedals and other crap that i have no reason for having.) Honestly the out of the box sound is ok but i replaced the pickups with seymour duncan jb bridge and jazz neck(what comes on some of the high end models)and I couldnt be happier. The natural tone of the wood lends itself to a nice bright, high attack sound .The natural sustain is pretty amazing considering its a bolt on and the trem is really nice,it takes some work to put this thing out of tune, even though the bar isnt a screw in and slips out sometimes.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
The action out of the box was decent. I did some adjustments(very easy truss rod access) and couldnt believe how low i could get the action with a minimal buzzing. The fretwork is nice and even. Not a flaw in the finish what so ever. It really is a beautiful guitar. I had to raise the pickups a little to get them to really pop but nothing substantial. I guess my only real complaint is that the piezo wiring was messed up when I got it. It would cut in and out and it turned out to be a bad solder joint on the switch. It was a quick fix but seriously, that shouldnt happen. For the most part, though, this thing is spot on.

Reliability/Durability : 10
Its been gigged a couple of times and so far so good. I always have a backup though. Better safe than sorry

I have a bunch of guitars and have been a session player and touring guitarist. This thing has stood up to the test, even againt my high end ESP, Gibson, and Fender. You wont find a better playing guitar It practically plays itself. I would definately recommend replacing the pickups, but thats my taste. If it were lost or stolen i would replace it, probably with a higher end model, but i feel that parker is the way to go if you play very intricate music and need a very versatile guitar. Sounds great, looks great, and most importantly, plays better than anything out there.

2006, HH and Piezo, very nice, simple finish.

Two split coil humbuckers and piezo in the bridge...a lot of options.

I would say that there isn't enough seperation in sound between the bridge and neck pick-up. I will probable replace the bridge pick-up.

This is a thin body guitar but it sounds pretty fat, very nice blues and jazz tones, rock tones are very vintage. The clean piezo and dual humbucker tone is AMAZING!

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
set-up is good...had to make a few tweaks (who doesn't)

if you like the parker look you will love this guitar...I got the trans cherry and it looks beautiful. The action can be made fast and no buzz very easily.

No flaws at all.

here is where I have a few words for Parker/Washburn.

I bought my guitar new from an out of state dealer. They shipped it with a twisted neck, a screw loose from the neck and a crack in between the neck and neck pick-up. The authorized dealer said they would return my money by check (paid by CC) in 90 days...WHAT! I contacted Parker (Washburn) and they said that they would repair or replace it. They paid for shipping and after 5 weeks I got the "repaired" guitar back. All they did was screw in the loose screw...WHAT!

I called and set up another return and expressed my concern for the warranty, they paid for shipping again, I waited 5 weeks again and finally I got a brand new parker p-44...worth the wait...YES!

I understand parkers position on this and ultimatly I am happy that they did the right thing. I never had to yell or get mad, just talk with the tech guys.

Overall Rating : 9
I would replace this if lost/stolen. I looked around for a long time before deciding on this one, it was the right mix of features and price for me.

replace a pick-up or two and this thing is a beast!

Parker P44 in Cherry has the recognizable Parker shape and headstock. The website says it is a 2 piece mahogany body, but it is done so well I'll be damned if I can see the seam. It has a 2 piece maple neck with a scarf joint under the 2nd fret and an ebony fingerboard with no inlays. The 22 frets are about the same as standard Fender frets and the back of the neck has a flat finish that is very easy to play. The Parker website says that the neck has a "Regular/Fat" profile, but it is not fat in any way. The neck feels almost identical to my PRS CE24 neck, very thin and flat. It has Grover 18:1 mini tuners and a Graphtech nut. The neck is connected like an Ibanez all access neck joint and gives you easy access all the way to the 22nd fret. The bridge is also very PRS like and works very well and is setup as a floating type for up/down pitch changes. Has Fishman piezo pickups built into the saddles with a stereo preamp in the control cavity and a battery compartment on the back of the body which also has the stereo mono switch for the piezo. It also has 2 Parker Stinger humbuckers and has a 3way switch for bridge/both/neck and a 3way switch for humbucker/both/piezo pickups. Has a volume and tone for the humbuckers and a volume for the piezo. The tone control is also a push/pull pot for coil tapping the humbuckers. The trem arm is a push in type with a foam pad on the end. Not alot more you need from a guitar.

Comes with a well padded Parker gig bag, stereo cable, truss rod tool and hex wrenches for the bridge.

Sound : 7
I had been looking for a solid body with a Piezo pickup so I could stop lugging my acoustic to gigs. I had been looking at Godins when I came across the P44 on the internet. I had always liked Parkers for their playability, so I was very interested in this model. I was leary of getting one because of the way Parker describes the neck on their website (regular/fat) as I don't like thick necks. But, I took a chance on the word of a local dealer who had played one and said it is not a fat neck at all.
I play in a rock cover band and wanted a guitar that had a piezo as well as being a good electric for versatility. This guitar is perfect for the job! It is very easy to play and simulates an acoustic well enough to cover the songs I need it too. Plus it is one hell of a playable guitar anyway. Neck is very fast and the body resonates well. I play it through a Mesa Single Rectoverb into an old Marshall 4x10 cab with Eminence Ragin Cajun speakers.
The piezo is very bright and vibrant and sounds like and Ovation type acoustic/electric vs. a mic'ed acoustic. Very passable for live work. I would have liked a tone control for the piezo as you have to adjust the amp to get it to sound right, which affects the humbucker tone. I got around this by putting an EQ pedal in line with a setup for the piezo, but it could have been solved more easily with the addition of a tone knob.
The humbuckers are medium output and are EQed to the bright side. They have chrome covers and are very quiet. They have a Thinline Telecaster type tone, very articulate and defined. I will definitely change out the bridge pickup however, for something with a wider frequency range and more output, but the neck pickup is fine.
The body does resonate well and the guitar sounds very vibrant, but I gave it a 7 because of no tonal control over the piezo and the humbuckers being too bright.
The Grovers on it are good tuners but they should have put Grover locking mini's on this guitar, since it has a floating trem. I will change them out eventually. I also swapped out the cream pickup rings and chrome knobs for all black. Gives it that SG look which fits the cherry better IMO.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
The guitar was setup very well right out of the box, although it needed a little tweaking for my tastes. The truss rod was a little slack so the neck bowed a bit too much, which was probably just from the temp change during shipping. There were no high frets and I lowered the action to 2/32 at the 12th fret with no buzzing. The fret edges are well rounded and the crowns are properly finished. The ebony fingerboard is smooth and as fast as anything around. The finish was flawless (maybe Gibson should take the factory tour!!) and I love the depth of the cherry finish, even if it is poly. The nut did have some squeaks and was causing the G and B strings to stick when using the trem. A little filing and some graphite powder took care of that. Intonation was dead on on every string and needed no adjusting.

Reliability/Durability : 5
I see no reason why this guitar wouldn't last a long time with a little care. All hardware except the 3 way switch for the piezo/humbuckers, is good quality. That 3 way is the cheap self contained type vs. the humbucker selector which is the Gibson style exposed switch. The piezo selector is staticy and I have already had to resolder the connections to it. I replaced it with a Switchcraft 3way the second time it acted up. That shouldn't happen on a brand new axe.

Customer Support : No Opinion
No idea...

Overall Rating : 8
I've been playing forever and own alot of high quality gear. I needed a guitar with a piezo for acoustic simulation for playing live and looked at others, but thought that price to quality for this axe was good, so I took a chance. Glad I did! I got acoustic tones AND an outstanding electric to boot. This guitar is very easy to play and with a tweak here and there, is an outstanding axe. I can easily see it becoming one of my main live axes. I will put locking tuners on it and swap the bridge pickup for a DiMarzio Tone Zone. I would recommend this guitar to anyone looking for a fast playing neck with a lot of sound versatility.

I don't know why anyone hasn't submitted any current reviews for the new Parker P44 gtr but here's mine...I recently purchased a brand new 2006 P44. The latest version combines a 2 piece mahogany body styled in the classic, offset Parker Nite-Fly shape and combines it w/a 2 piece bolt on maple neck with an ebony fingerboard that has 22 medium tall frets and the classic Parker "blade-shaped" headstock. The finish is a subtle transparent red. There are no fingerboard inlays which gives you the appearance of the high end, USA made Nite-Fly guitars. There are side markers. This gtr is made in Korea but allegedly is set-up at the Parker plant in Illinois before shipping to the dealers. It has chrome, Grover, non-locking mini-tuners, a traditional non-locking tremelo, 2 Parker Stinger humbuckers w/a coil tap push-pull tone pot, a volume control for the humbuckers, and a bridge mounted Fishman piezo pick up w/its own volume control. There is a 3 way magnetic p/up switch and a 3 way control switch to choose only the mags, both piezo and mags and just the piezo. There is a single stereo output jack but it is NOT a "smart jack" as you may see advertized. There is a tiny, recessed micro switch near the 9v battery compartment in which you can choose between using a stereo cable which allows you to use 2 amps or a combined mono output in which case you can use a regular gtr cable and one amp. Parker includes the trem arm, adjusting wrenches, a stereo cable, a truss rod adjustment tool and an excellent padded gig bag. Possibly the best gig bag I have ever seen without being charged for a case upgrade!

Sound : 8
The humbuckers are mounted using traditional pick up rings w/height adjustment screws. The pickups are totally silent even when tapped. Their nature is to be on the dark side when used in the full humbucking mode. They seem to want you to dial in the high end on the amps eq. They sustain nicely and evenly but don't have wide dynamics especially when using distortion or overdrive. When coil tapped, they are significantly brighter and snappier. Its not really a Strat or Tele tone but a lighter, split humbucker tone. Fairly unique. Almost like a P90 or a mini-humbucker sound. I recommended to Parker that they may want to scrap the coil tap and the 3 way switch and go to a 5 way switch which I find faster and easier to use. The piezo is simply great!! This is part of the Parker legacy. Again, its not going to give you the sound of a miked Martin D28 or a Taylor but it NAILS the Ovation/Takamine tone. Real snappy and bright w/accented picking dynamics. You could definitely fool some people into thinking you're playing an acoustic gtr. Now when you combine this w/the 2 humbuckers coil tapped, a little chorusing and reverb...it is simply the BEST clean tone going. Maybe a little limited and not for every type of music but a GREAT sound. Sounds as good as Parker's USA Nite-fly models especially the Mojo and the M. I may want to consider upgrading the humbuckers eventually.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 8
The set up out of the box was good. The intonation was spot on. The action was of average, medium height. Very playable. The gtr has a graphite nut which was slotted and cut well. The gtr comes w/9's. Cut them off immediately and replace w/a high quality set of strings! The frets were dressed well enough but the edges were on the sharp side. I think once the neck acclimates and gets exposed to some humidity this will change. I would not be afraid to lightly file the edges down. I tweaked the pickup height a little which helped brighten the tone a hair. I also tweaked the high E, B and G string as I felt they were a little low. The fretboard uses a compound radius which starts out at 10 degrees and ends up at 13. The string spacing is wider than you would expect but still very fast. The neck feels alot like a Gibson SG. The bolt on neck joint is tight as a drum. No gapping or shifting. The wood and finish are really nice. Tight grained mahogany w/a wine red transparent poly finish. Well sanded, no stain blotching, no apparent flaws...very well done!! The bridge is nicely made. High quality saddles w/the piezo elements wired in. The saddles adjust smoothly and easily. The truss rod is easily accessable at the base of the neck and Parker includes a steel rod to turn the dial with. Similar to a Musicman truss rod. The trem block is not the best. It's a 2 piece unit that uses 3 springs and a claw. The trem bar just presses into the unit. The trem is ok at best. Mine is a little stiff. It only goes down in pitch and of course is not meant for heavy whammy players. I don't see myself using it much. I have other gtrs w/much better trems. The trem cavity on mine is routed slighty off center and the spring on the low E side rubs against the body by just a hair. It doesn't impede the use of the trem though. There is one large back plate covering the trem and the electronics. I thought there was supposed to be a tiny control to tweak the piezo output but I can't find it. The electronics are cleanly done. The 9v battery has its own easy to change compartment w/a red LED light to tell you when your battery is low on power. Battery life is expected to be around 100 hours. The gtr is very comfortable to play sitting and standing. Its very well balanced. All in all, the Korean builders have finally caught up to the quality that the Japanese builders had established 30 years ago.

Reliability/Durability : 8
Time will tell. I have already replaced the strap buttons w/Dunlop strap locks as I do on all my gtrs. The wood and metal finishes should hold up ok. I always wipe the gtr down before putting it away so that helps. The knobs and the pots seem ok. The output jack and the switches might be the Achilles heel here. The switches are quiet but a little shaky feeling. The jack is not tight and snug feeling. I am a rock-jazz-fusion player so this gtr won't be beat on. I do intend on using it w/o a back up. It should be fine. Again, we'll see how it goes after a few gigs.

Customer Support : No Opinion
No experience w/Parker Gtrs although I did call their mother company once to determine the build date of a used Parker gtr I was considering and the rep was less than helpful. Like every other company, you hear good and bad.

Overall Rating : 8
I have been a pro guitarist for over 25 years. I like to play a variety of different gtrs and brand name doesn't mean much to me. I prefer something unique and innovative and versatile. I currently own a custom Gibson 335, a custom made boutique Strat and a Musicman Axis Sport. I like different tones and between all of my active, gigging gtrs, I can get any sound I want. I would never say I liked something if I didn't. I was also skeptical about spending alot of money on a USA made Parker but this thing is really good. Essentially, this is a high-end, imported Parker Nite-fly gtr at half the price. I can see why people like these gtrs. If anything, the P44 now wets my appetite for a high end USA made Parker. There are some cool features that you can only get on the USA gtrs but dollar for dollar you really can't go wrong w/a P series. It was a good purchase for me. I will update my review after it has seen some gig time.

The P-44 is a great guitar for someine who wants lots of bang for there buck. Bolt on neck ebony fret board two single coil and 1 hb at the bridge whamy bar and of course the pezio pick up. I have an Epi SG-vintage with 57 classics, a fender american with JB in the necik & a screamin deamon in the bridge, a dean caddilac special selectwith SH 59's and a samick Rl 3. this P-44 plays better than all of them.

Sound : 9
lots of veriety in sound because of the pezio. I do wish it had a set neck like its expensive brother the Nite Fly but for the pricer it is a great guitar. the stock pu are good, however i think an EMG setup would really make this guitar rock. I play lots of santana like stuff, classic rock and THE BLUES. The stock pu sound good thru my fender cyber twin but then again any guitar would thru that amp, i also play thru a fender hot rod devill 2/12 thru this amp it sounds a little hollow.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
the set up was very good. pu in a good position.

Parker P44 solid body electric guitar. Heck, I don't know what year it was made, it's new and they came out pretty recently. You can get the specs from the Parker website. Wait a minute. No you can't. C'mon Parker, update your site! OK, physical dimensions are similar to the P38 and P40, different woods and pickups. It's got that crazy Parker body shape but the top and back aren't sculpted like a USA Parker. This one's made in Korea under Parker's license and supervision. Mahogany body with a thin laminate of highly flamed maple on the top. Maybe 1/16" thick? For cosmetic purposes only. Mines sort of a tobacco sunburst. Nice, I guess. Back is a beautiful dark cherry red. Bolt on maple neck with four recessed screws. No neck plate required. Fretboard is rosewood with very close grain and quite dark. Dyed maybe? Very smooth, not quite ebony in feel. 22 nickle silver frets that are probably medium jumbo. Substantial, but not huge. Good balance between slides, bending, and finger vibrato. You know what I mean. Fretboard radius is pretty flat, but not dead flat. I think it's supposed to be a compound radius. Neck profile is slim and fairly wide. Very comfortable once you get used to it. Satin finish on neck. No fretboard markers, side markers only. I think the nut is graphite.

Straight pull headstock design with one graphite string tree for the two high strings. Kind of weird design chromed Grover locking tuners. The strings anchor low on the post, which is good, but the total post height is tall for locking tuners. I think they were designed to give the look of non-locking tuners. No thumbscrew on the back to lock down the string like Sperzel tuners. You just pull the string through and start bringing it up to pitch. They lock automatically. I don't know, had a little problem pushing the string through the post hole on a couple. There seems to be some internal sleeve or cam that doesn't always line up correctly. Once you get them strung the tuners work beautifully.

Two chrome covered humbucking pickups. Supposed to be custom wound (by who?) for Parker with AlNiCo magnets (which kind?). Oh well, they are good. They have a smooth sweet quality for a humbucker. Not too muddy or indistinct. I think the bridge humbucker cover is wax potted but the neck pickup cover is not. Interesting if true, but makes a certain amount of sense. Wilkenson tremelo with Fishman piezo elements embedded in the string saddles and a built-in Fishman preamp with required battery. Three way blade style pickup selector. Master volume control for the magnetics. Master tone for the magnetics which pulls up for coil tap/phase function. Volume for the piezo output and a three way toggle switch which selects magnetic, piezo, or a blend for the output. The output jack is supposed to have the option of using a stereo Y cable to route the separate mag and piezo outputs to different amps, or using a standard mono cable, it routes them together. You control the balance. Whew!

Sound : 9
Very versatile. Many, many sounds available. Volume and tone controls usable through the sweep. Select neck pickup or bridge pickup. Selector in the middle has the two outside coils of each pickup working together. This sounds great. Pull up on the tone control to tap the bridge or neck pickups, or in the middle selected pickup position, puts the outside coils out of phase (still humbucking). Select the piezo toggle to blend in that pickup or select piezo alone. Sometimes I think a tone control on the piezo is needed, but if you want to darken it then blend it with the magnetic pickup with that tone rolled back some. This guitar goes it's own way tone-wise. It doesn't try to be a Gibson or a Fender or a flat top acoustic. You can go thick, you can go thin, you can get an approximation of an acoustic, or a blend. It can be as good as your skill and amplification. It will not hold you back.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 6
Ah, there's always a problem, isn't there? Setup was good, I've done very little. Medium low which is prefered for me. Raised the pickups a little. Came with .09 guage strings which have been changed to .10 guage. Now I'm noticing a bit of a problem with the nut. The B string doesn't seem to be breaking cleaning over the nut and is experiencing a noticeable buzzy overtone. Like a sitar when the string is plucked with medium force. Just a hint of this on the A string as well. G string is just a bit more muted than I think it should be. A bit of a dead spot on the G string around the 12th fret. Some finish flaws. Two areas on the flame top where the stain appears to lack uniformity. Not large, mind you, but noticeable. As is a small spot on the top that looks like a tiny waterspot. Back side of upper horn has some sort of black "something" embedded under the finish. This would be nitpicking, but hey, it's there. I've got to dock some on the finish. This is billed as a premium Korean made guitar and will normally set you back around $800. Note that these are mostly small finish problems. The fit is excellent and the action is very light and easy.

Reliability/Durability : No Opinion
Reliability? I've only had it a couple of months. Ask me in a couple of years. It is light but seems very solid. The trem bar attachment concerns me since some folks complain that the nylon bushing wears out. It slides in then tightens with a small allen head bolt. Hopefully, the Fishman pickup/preamp system will stand up over time. I can't really see anything else being a problem.

Customer Support : 4
What support? Actually haven't used it yet. The lack of updated info on the website for this model is not looking good. Registered online and haven't heard a word back. Maybe they save the red carpet treatment for USA Parker owners?

Overall Rating : 8
I almost forgot the mention one of the best features of this guitar, the tremelo/vibrato/whammy...whatever you want to call it. Very smooth, very large range of effect, so far trouble-free, and IT STAYS IN TUNE. That's right, even with dive bombs, I just can't hardly knock this thing out of tune, even trying. Third Stone From The Sun, baby! The trem mechanics are pretty standard. Mine is setup floating with three springs.

You want a light, comfortable guitar with an exceptional amount of resonance and sustain? This is it. Want the ability to get a variety of sounds (I'm talking good ones)? Here you go. Switch to a usable acoustic emulation? Yep. Don't want to follow the pack and the "me too" crowd? I'd say so. Do I wish it had stainless frets, a composite fretboard, exotic body construction, and looked more like a USA Parker? Of course, but then I'd have to save a lot more for a used Fly Deluxe.

This is what seperates the men from the boys. This guitar is easily one of the most, if not the best guitar in this price range for playing all types of music. I'm not the most knoledgable when it comes to active and passive pickups, but these give more output and tone than any guitar i have ever played. The construction of this guitar allows me to raise the pickups as close to the strings as i want (don't raise em too much) unlike other guitars (ehem, ibanez). I usually find that i have to lower my guitar volume when i plug into an amp with another guitar (not a problem any more! i have 3 amps!) I have honestly never played on a guitar with more output (well i have, but they were active pickups that were horrible on cleans, and were WELL past this guitars price range). This guitar has plenty of tone to go along with the high output. Like others have said about parker guitars, turning the tone knob to the max gives TOO MUCH TONE. well its not actually too much that its unpleasant, just out of the ordinary(this is what makes this guitar so different, and thats y i like it). It gives the guitar a much more trebly sound than any other i've heard. however, if you do not have a good amp for cleans, maxximum tone may cause some break up in your cleans. If you turn it down a bit it gets a tone like any other guitar out there with humbuckers. The tone and volume knobs on this guitar give a smooth degree volume and tone. its not like most guitars where it goes from, barely audible, to max. I have good equipment i use which brings out the hybrid sound of this guitar. I use a PEAVEY 5150 II 120W Head w/Tubes (For Ultra Gain lead, and dirty cleans) through a MARSHALL1960A cab, A RANDALL RG100SC 100W combo (for cleans, VERY nice cleans, read the reviews, and for lower gain distortions, or high gain distortions at non lead volumes). My randall has built in chorus as well. I also use a MARSHALL MG30DFX for practice. It has some effects, and i actually like some sounds it gets, but haven't tryed it out with my band, plus i'm not sure if 30 Watts would be audible at all. This guitar fits ANY music style well, except it won't get u a fender tone (OBVIOUSLY cause it doesn't have any single coils) however the piezo acoustic pickup can serve as an excellent substitute. If you use the piezo with the settings you normally use for your regular pickups, you'll find that its not as acoustic sounding as you'd like, however when hooked up to an amp thats eq'd differently it becomes frighteningly similar. Its certainly a plus to this guitar. It won't sound like an unplugged wooden acoustic, but it sounds exactly like an amplified acoustic electric, which is how its supposed to sound. Its the acoustic sound without the lack of frets and without the difficulties of bending strings. I recomend this guitar to ANYONE who wants to get out of the ordinary and sound good. Its defenitley one of the best guitars out there.

Action, Fit, & Finish : No Opinion
Actions shouldn't be much of an importance if your a good guitar player. This guitar has good action, not GREAT but this doesn't feel necessary to me. Finish is really nice, Good for the price range. It has grover tuners and stays in tune as just as well as any guitar with grover tuners can. the bridge is a wilkinson tremelo, which works pretty well and doesn't knock the guitar right out of tune, like most floy roses. The guitar is really thin and light, which is great for me.

If this guitar were stolen, i'd either get another one, or go for a higher class parker (not because i'm dissatisfied, but because i would simply want to take the next step up and try out an american made parker) I play chili peppers stuff, creed, system of a down, metallica, rage against the machine, fuel and lots of easy stuff i picked up when i sucked like nirvana stuff. My band is pretty succesful and we hope to start recording soon. I'm sure it will be time well spent. the money was sure well spent, i don't think there's a better guitar out there for the money (however schecters look pretty enticing)

I've only owned two other guitars, a squier and an Ibanez S470. Well naturally, i got my ibanez because i need to play on better wood than a my first squier, so i bought the S470. It was good, but not GREAT. I've had the parker for about 6 months now, and i run it through a ZOOM GFX 8, DIGITECH RP200, and a CRATE GX65. I play Rage against the machine, P-roach, nirvana, creed, chili peppers, led zepplin, metallica, fuel, and some black sabbath and this guitar suits them all. This guitar is definetly great and it gets a crisp warm sound. The Humbucker pickups have massive output if you raise them. The guitar is a little bit more trebly than usual so the cleans have a bright sound and the distortion really rings out. It has a great bottom end for palm muting and makes the most of ur distortion on power chords. There is no mudd at all on the bridge pickup and can give u a dirty sound with a touch of overdrive. The neck pickup sounds quite cool, it isn't noisy at all so i like to use it for solo's when i can. It has a mellow jazzy feel. Wah kicks ass on this guitar with tone all the way up on the bridge pickup. I do wish there was a single coil on this guitar however, like my ibanez (h-s-h), but the piezo pickup makes up for it. At first, i was dissapointed. It didn't sound much like an acoustic at all. but once u turn turn the amp volume up, the acoustic characteristics really come out. This is where this guitar really shines. i can record my self playing stairway to heaven, and i honestly can't tell the difference between me and jimmy page. the only problem with the piezo pickup is the battery and the fact that it buzzes sometimes like acoustics do. so it has the same difficulty of playing an acoustic (without the bulkiness though). The Volume knob actually swells in (To a degree)! Unlike most other guitars which basically have 2 stages of volume on the knob. Overall on sound this gets a 10 because what it does, (just about everything) it does well.

whatever, i hate it when ppl complain about the factory set up. If the factory sux then just adjust ur guitar, thats not a reason to pass up on a guitar. The action is average, better than my Ibanez, but this isn't much of a factor too me. The grover tuners are great. I can bend like a demon and never lose tune(well not noticably). changing tunings is not annoying either because the bridgedoesn't take long to adjust to tension, almost as easy as using a tuneomatic. One complaint i have a about the bridge is its useless whammy function. although the grover tuners can stand bending, the fall out of tune with excessive use of the whammy bar. there's no locking nuts or nething(STUPID). This renders the whammy bar virtually useless. again, i don't mind this much because i use the digitech whammy pedal, which sounds way cooler than a real whammy. the pickups have chrome covers, which are really cool, and the finish is just a piece of beauty. it is kind of weird though, because my guitar looks black in the day, and a purplish black at night. It stilll looks cool though. The guitar is very light, i think most of the weight is from the 9V battery. The neck is wide and easy to play on. (it will actually improve ur playing if u haven''t played on one like this before) i can now bend more without bumping into other strings like was the case with my ibanez. The neck is rosewood however, which i am quite bored of. because of the annoying whammy bar and average finger board, it gets a 9.

this guitar is light, but built like a rock, i jump around with this thing and i never lose strings or tune, if i had to choose a guitar to use without a backup, it would certainly be a parker. I don't think this thing well fair well if u give it a bad drop though. and the rosewood finger board is not for eternity either. this is a sure thing for live playing, but the fingerboard is notsomething that will last for nearly as long as the rest of the guitar, so i give this a 9

i sent them an email when i first got the guitar, and it took them 2 months to reply. their response was very helpful however

i've played several guitars. This baby easily outdoes my friends $1000 gibson. it has excellent harmonics. it gives you a comfortable feel, NO gibson or les paul can give u. and the price paid, is another reason to smile. you get the most bang for ur buck. its not commonly played, so it sticks out when seen on stage. in addition, it has a piezo pickup, with which u can mix acoustic and electric sounds, for unlimited possibilities! It is definetly one of the most versatile guitars out there. If this baby had a single coil and set neck, there would be no stopping it. although i gave other sections less than a 10, i cannot emphasize enough on the value u get from this guitar, so i will give it a 10

This Guitar suits my music style perfectly. I generally play alot of slower rock but have the need for hard rock in my songs also. I'm using a Fender HotRod Deville 2 12" for my amp which absolutely brings out the geat hybrid sound of this guitar. I'm used to playing Fender Strats so at first it was more of the full lower treble than I was used to until I flipped the switch and combined the pickups. Love it!

From factory this guitar was setup pefectly for my taste (got lucky I guess)
Pickups are perfectly adjusted also (again got lucky)
I didn't have any flaws in the arrival of my guitar from my retailer.
The finish was beautiful!

Reliability/Durability : 8
As far as the reliablitlity its hard to answer that so soon but it seems to be very stable and strong built. I hoping that it won't be like all my strats and the strap buttons come loose!
