Features : 9
The features are great for this guitar! Piezo pickups, Grover locking tuners, flamed sunburst finish, chrome pickup covers. The ability to mix acoustic and electric sounds is a simply amazing feature. Accessories include a stereo cable to plug into an electric amph and a PA/acoustic amph, and also a gig bag. I hafta ding Parker for not throwing in a more robust hard case, or atleast pricing the hardcase reasonably.

Sound : 8
Great versatile sound, truly unique with the piezo pickup going at the same time as the humbuckers. Very clean, no noise, but the sound seems a bit light but the strings are only 9's so with thicker strings it should sound better. There isn't a broad enough range of tone I find, it just doesn't have a convincing fat bottom end. This is coming out of a Line6 Flextone mind you.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 6
The action and setup was alright, the finish was beautiful. I got the nice Cherry Sunburst, and this has to be one of the most beautiful finishes I have seen. No flaws in the finish. However, the fretboard is of extremely poor quality. I guess it is an import, so the quality does go down, but my korean made Ibanez has a way better fretboard than this piece of crap. There are scratches everywhere, noticeable flaws all over the neck, and the frets weren't placed into the fretboard very well. And I have never seen a brand-new guitar have so much dirt of the fretboard. The wood on the fretboard seems to be very dry. overall: Fretboard sucks, Body is great.

Reliability/Durability : 7
It is flimsy and light. It doesn't have the spaceage composite materials of the pricier American Fly's but it seems dependable enough. I'd have to keep my Ibanez as a backup though. The battery-dependent piezo could die without notice. We'll see how this baby holds up in a few months

Customer Support : 7
One-year warrenty, but you have to ship it back to Parker for repairs. I have yet to deal with the customer support, but rumor is that they are prompt with emails. Support in Canada is a bit lacking. The Canadian distributor is pretty obscure and hard to reach.

Overall Rating : 8
This adds to my existing collection of one guitar. Oh yeah... one Ibanez Iceman, and a Line6 Flextone amph. They seem to go well together. If it was stolen, I'd save up the extra grand and go for the American made Parker Fly Classic. The quality of the P-44 is a typical import, and isn't great at all. It is however, quite a bargain considering the features. I wish I compared it to the other Piezo-equipped guitars, but oh well. Still like it..

This is a brand new model put out by Parker made overseas I believe. It has 22 jumbo frets.

With the signature capabilities of the high-end Parker Fly- versatility, playability and shape, the P-44 completes the entry level Parker offering joining the P-38 and P-40 models. The P-44 offers two custom-wound Alnico humbucking pickups, a custom Fishman piezo pickup with an active preamp/mixer system and a custom Wilkinson vibrato bridge. The bolt-on neck is maple with a rosewood fingerboard.

Sound : 10
The sound this guitar produces is amazing. The chrome plates covering the pickups makes this unit compare to a PRS, Gibson SG, and a Les Paul. Then if you want to really get some cool tones, flip the pickup switch to the middle position and now you have an amplified acoustic guitar...no lie!

I have it running through an ADA MP-1 and a Marshall MG100CD 100watt head through a Peavey 5150 cabinet, and it wails! The only noise coming from the guitar is from the ADA when the gain is cranked up.

You can get any sound you want from this guitar. I love everything about it.

Action, Fit, & Finish : No Opinion

Reliability/Durability : 7
This guitar is extremely lite and seems like it could get banged up easily when touring.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Haven't dealt with them yet, so that's good!

Overall Rating : 10
I've been playing for 7 years so I can say that this is a great guitar because I've played all kinds. If stolen, I would definitely get another.

I love how this guitar feels and sounds...it is so thick but bright on the clean tones. I hate nothing about it...and my favorite feature is the built-in acoustic pickup.

I basically chose to buy this guitar because no one else out there uses it and the sound is defintely on of its own.

ROCK ON!!!!!!!IT'S NOT DEAD YET!!!!!!!!!
