Bought mine new, but distressed. Paid a mere $40 for it because of scratch and dent and an ill fitting arm-rest (which imitates the shape of an acoustic guitar) Active electronics, apparently they now sell more than one model of this since there was another the dealer had with more inlays, although not terribly well executed or designed.
Sound

Surprisingly good sound through the piezo pickup, full, rich, good bass; sounds much like an amplified acoustic. I do blues almost exclusively, so the acoustic like sound and the high action are not a problem.
Action, Fit, & Finish
:

Action is a tad high and not easily altered. That is a serious flaw, the lack of an adjustable action height and adjustable harmonics. Frets are excellent, as good as a top end Fender, smooth as glass, not a sharp edge to be found anywhere. Wood is plain (in both neck and what passes for a body).
Reliability/Durability
:
5
The plate holding the battery in was broken and non-repairable. It appears to be a consistent problem with the guitar. The design of this plate is seriously defective. Apparently just about everyone who owns one complains of this flaw. Otherwise reasonably durable, although the finish seems thinner than one would want for a travel guitar. Neverless, the Aria version is like $400 in a discount outlet.

Trying to get the batter plate replace, but I am not having much success. There is apparently a decent sounding warrenty, which unfortunately does not cover anything which is actually likely to go wrong.

Own and play many instruments, now own five guitars plus a bass. I love the cheapness, the easy of transport and the ability to think of something else when traveling with it. I sure as hell would not want to do this with my customized Fender. Would like to see it more durable, with a decent, heavily padded gig bag.
