Made in England 2006
22 Fret Ebony fingerboard - gets quarterley rubbing of lemon oil.
Two Eggle humbuckers, 3 way swtch, Volume and extra knob to invert phase of bridge/neck pickups independently, no tone knob!!
Nice tuners, stays in tune well, even after a lot of string bending

Very nice sound, although you do need to ease off the volume a little if you want a real clean sound, full volume gives extra kick. Great guitar for blues/rock.
Its used mainly for recording, health problems preclude gigging these days and sounds real good, my main guitar.
Currently used with Native Instruments Guitar Rig 3 - can pretty much achieve any sound.

Very slight fault on headstock, where it looks like one of the machine heads has been tightened too much when fitted. Apart from that, flawless bodywork/neck.
Action was really good straight from buying, although I had to return to shop 3 weeks after purchase to be set up again, but this was due to being kept in a cold shop for two year, then moved to my nice warm house.... temperature change. Since then no problems, stays in tune like a dream,

Very reliable, should last me years to come. Slight wear on frets, not damaged, but slightly dirty looking... but this is to be expected as it played 6 out of 7 days, for around 5hrs a day, sometimes more.
This is the guitar I depend on for all recording that requires Electric, only time I use another guitar is when I require an Acoustic.
Have 5 other electric guitars in my collection, and honestly can say I can't remember last time i played them since I bought this one

Very helpful. I Bought his from a very small music store, in a quiet seaside town where I work. He had had it for two years and didnt even know the model. Originally was for sale for ??800, but I managed to get him down to ??400!!! Contacted Eggle sales with my serial number, and discovered it to be a 2006 Berlin Plus.
Sales guy very helpful, even enquiring whether I got a certificate with it.... I didnt, but have a feeling sales guy might be sorting me out one ;)

Been playing off/on for 20yrs. So far I love this guitar, my only wish is that it has the feature of earlier Berlin models, of the pullswitch on the tone knob to switch between single/dual coil.
If it were lost, I would problably replace it either with a Berlin Pro, or a pre 1996 Berlin. I compared this with a PRS before buying, both sounded good, but for some reason I was drawn to this one.... and so far don't regret my purchase.

Brilliant guitar with an awesome sound, suits all styles and very versatile. Best guitar I have ever played! Better than any PRS!

Guitar has been set up a number of times but the fret wear is minimal for a 13 year old instrument, workmanship is out of this world and it eats most other guitars for Breakfast!

Never needed to use them, even when I owned 3 berlins and an LA but if you want one, buy one pre 1994, as thats when patrick left the company and the quality went down hill!
I have never played a bad Patrick Eggle but some of the newer ones don't have the same quality!

Out of all of my guitars this is the one which has lasted ten years and I would never sell it as it would be almost impossible to replace! Many guitarist has drooled over it and commented on how their Gibson or PRS just doesn't cut it against the Berlin Plus. As I said, I used to have 3 Berlins, 2 plus and one Pro they were all pre 1993 and I sold the other 2 on to other Guitarists for whom Patrick Eggle guitars have changed there lives!

Mines a Mahogony backed A-A-A Mirror matched maple Quilt top, 2 Seymour duncan pckups, 1 volume, 1 tone + push pull coil tap on tone.
Ebony fretboard with falling maple leaves. All gold hardware, getting a bit worn now ( but not beaten up like my old 91 tele). Simple control layout with 3 way toggle switching + coil tap for single coil sounds make this a doddle to play, with a narrow neck for smaller hands and 2 octave fret range.

Les paul, fender tele/ strat it is easy and to hand.
Also great clean but great at ballsy blues and hard edge overdrive with superb pick driven harmonics, and i'm a drummer.
Does not get much better than this for variations simply achieved!
Misses the last bit of Les Paul bottom sometimes - churlish! wot me?

All great when bought 5 years back.
A gentle refret recently cured some minor buzz.
Stays in toon too!

Gold rubs off as mentioned. It should do, this quality needs playing.
gloss finish does dink easy so take care.
Gigs! I use a drum kit. Guitar is for fun, but very reliable, with very occaisional string break.

13 years old. Friendly Co. But not with Mr Eggle onboard. He sold out due to various problems of staff and distribution.

Beats most, excepting the most versatile, custom or just any top flight model. it's way up there not overpriced or over sexed up.
Just great!

UK Built, 1993. 24 fret, tuneomatic bridge, flame(ish) maple on mahogany, ebony fingerboard, Kent Armstrong uncovered humbuckers, sperzel tuners, 3-way switch, volume (pull switch for coil tap) and tone. Finish is a deep honey clear gloss.
Just a plain old twin humbucker hardtail so whilst not bucket loads of features it has everything you need in this type of guitar.

Rock/Blues style through a Boogie V-Twin and a hybrid Fender amp (solid state preamp and valve power stage, I just use the power amp as the V-twin does the rest).
The pots are getting a bit scratchy (a good clean would sort them out I guess) and the tone can get sort of sludgy if you get too bassy but set up right in the middle it purrs. I have often considered fitting some SD pickups, a pearly gates / Jeff Beck pairing or something similar but never got round to it, I suppose this means that I like the sound it makes. I love the sustain and the way you can add loads of drive by just tweaking the volume.

I got the axe second hand so I do not know about the factory setup but everthing is pretty neat still(10 years down the road).
The maple top is not highly figured and the book matching is not perfect (is it ever?) but it still looks sweet.
The only possible fault I can find is that the nut corners are a little sharp so an over vigourous sliding barre cord can make you wince. Other than that everything is very very neat.

Built like a brick sh*t-house. I have dropped it, failed to attach its strap properly ...ooops.... and picked up the case without closing it ...ouch. It has come through everthing without a single complaint.

Playing on and off for too many years to remember. I have owned a Les Paul copy (undisclosed make from the 70's) and a Steinberger GU.
I loved the look at first glance and didn't ask anything once I had heard it. I would try and get the same again if it were lost/stolen, I believe that Eggle went through a funny patch in the late 90's so an early model would be preferred.
It feels right, sometimes you pick up a guitar and everything seems in the right place, (I'm not a fender user but Strat's always seem well balanced even if the workmanship sometimes sucks). The finish is gorgeous, the quality exceptional and the sound is just what I like. I would like to try a PRS to compare (for those not familiar with the Eggle Berlin it's pretty much a UK version of a PRS)but given that I dont have that much cash I have something that gives me pleasure everytime I get it out of the case.

English handmade...the best!
Solid mahogany with maple top, mahogany neck and ebony fretboard, 24 jumbo frets, 1 volume, 1 tone pot, Seymour Duncan Custom Custom in bridge pick-up and a SD '59 by the neck both passive ( active pick-ups suck!). Tune-O-matic bridge (Floyd Rose sucks, use the fingers to bend, suckers!)Sperzel non-locking tuners and a case came with it.
Mine was made in 1992, I've heard Patrick Eggle is no longer involved building guitars, I have also heard the Eggle's of today are crap, so beware when you buy one, it must be one before 1994!

I bought it secondhand it was set in drop D, as I use still.
I wish you could see the maple top on this beauty, especially the ones who bought an overpriced Gibson, hahaha!!!!!!!

It's a great guitar!
Really, this quality no longer exists today (except custom build ones)
