Simple oil finish on a cherry red stained body (mahogany?).
Glued in maple neck with ebony fingerboard and small offset dot inlays.
Wilkinson trem (VS100, I think), Sperzels tuners.
Came with Eggle embossed Hiscox flightcase.
Sound

Kind of bright sound, but very clear and ringing definition on both pickups. It isn't really like a Tele, but I like Teles and I like this guitar! Not very high output but well balanced.
Action, Fit, & Finish

Fabulous playing action - everyone who picks it up thinks it is fitted with nines, but they are tens. Excellent, clear definition all the way up the neck and across the strings. Very well finished and a delight to hold and play.

Not overfinished (I hate dripping lacquer) but still looks sound after eleven years of use. But never gig without backup! Never let me down, but that will happen when I just take one guitar, won't it?
Fingerboard has coped with use far better than any of my other guitars (USA Tele and Les Paul Standard included)

Friendly site, but no need for support so far, so who knows?

Fantastic guitar. Rare, cool, useful, fun, irreplaceable. Use it more than any other guitar I have or have had (if you see what I mean!). I wanted a basic New York, but wound up with this exotic thing because they were going cheap when there was a panic about Eggle's future just before Blade/Levinson got involved. I'd get another one, but where from?
I just hope that one of the frequent rumours of the return of Patrick Eggle Guitars turns out to be true. Soon.
