Features : 10
Two humbuckers and a single coil in the middle. A push pull pot brings in some single coil options. Not much you could want on a 12 string that is not there. 6 distinct and totally usable sounds.

Sound : 10
Really wonderful range of 12 string sounds. The electric 12 string is much under-rated instrument which has its own character, and does sound so much richer than a regular electric with a chorus pedal.
People always reference 60's music for some reason, but this is a very versatile guitar that sounds great on a wide range of styles.
This is by some distance the most versatile 12 string i have come across.
You can go from big chime and jangle to a very natural and near acoustic sound at the flick of a switch.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
Lovely set-up, this is a premium PRS guitar, 10 top, fancy fitments, birds etc. I don't think they have made them in a lower spec options.
Superbly well made, the headstock is a work of art in itself. Top is a wonderful piece of maple, which really adds sparkle to the sound.

Reliability/Durability : 9
A very tough guitar, beneath its film star looks. Would be durable, but I always worry about marking these fancy finishes, and they do show the knocks and and bangs.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Not dealt with them.

Overall Rating : 10
A wonderful guitar. I am usually one of those suckers on Harmony Central who has finished up paying more than all the other reviewers, but i got very good price on this one. That's because there is a limited market, and a well made high end guitar like this is going to be a tough sell.
If you can score one at a good price, jump in. Its way more flexible than a Rick, and much easier to play if you have adult size fingers.

Features : 10
October 2004, early production model of PRS' new 12 string, made in Stevensville, Md. Quilted maple top (option, flamed maple standard) on one-piece mahogany back; one-piece mahogany neck with Indian rosewood fretboard. 22 fret neck is slightly wider than 1 11/16 "wide-fat" with nice oval carve, just perfect to fret string pairs without deadening other strings, but not so wide you can't barre or reach low E. Pickups H/S/H, toggle for standard humbucker positions, with "pull-up" on tone knob that adds choice of split coils and middle single coil Fralin. One vol, one tone knob. Regular PRS sculpted double-cutaway shape with perfect stain and finish, perfect fretwork you expect on a high-end guitar. Lightweight "Phase 2" locking tuners solve the dreaded string-change. Beautifully machined wrap-over stoptail/bridge, with twelve individually adjustable saddles for perfect intonation.

Sound : 10
I am a rock dinosaur, play mostly unaccompanied, mixing chords with single notes. I have played 12 strings since 1972, have several vintage and modern 12s. This guitar has an amazing range, from deep-throated humbucker bellow to delicate single-coil bright. Chords are never muddy or harsh, thanks to unique intonation. Split coils and single come alive with booster pedals and other effects. Thought I'd miss the "round" tone of semi-hollows like 335-12, but PRS' choice of woods and pickups sound just as rich. I play through small tube amps, a Univalve and a Marshall Studio 15. Strum a chord, and the thing purrs in your hands, with sustain forever.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
I can't find a single thing wrong with this guitar. Low, even action out of the box, no fret buzz, smooth fret ends, superb paint/stain/clearcoat in Dark Cherry Sunburst. Pickups just right, I tried tweaks up and down, but the factory setup is best balanced. Just what a hand-finished, carefully inspected instrument should be: a work of art. This represents a whole lot of money to me, and I would be royally ticked off if it was disappointing. Or just return it.

Reliability/Durability : 10
Nothing fragile about this guitar, made to be played, for a very long time. Have just had this one a month, but based on my '97 Custom 22, even the finish is durable. They will both outlast me.

Customer Support : 10
Have met Paul and many of his workers, a great, friendly, and skilled bunch. Customer service has answered questions quickly. Have never needed repair, under limited lifetime warranty or otherwise. Magdon Music has a reputation for taking care of customers, and most PRS dealers have similar rep.

Overall Rating : 10
Think there's no such thing as a perfect 10? Meet my PRS. Been playing about 33 years, starting to get the hang of it. Own several other guitars, 6s and 12 strings. I put deposit down late January, received it in October: I cannot imagine putting up a LOT of money sight unseen for any other brand, but past experience with PRS made it a safe bet. This is like choosing a mate, stunning good looks never hurt, but I am going to be living with this long-term. With this one, I can play it and stop shopping. It fits perfectly, sounds like nothing else. If someone made off with it, I would consider investing in firearms, and get it back. No jury in the land would convict me.
