I play everything that could fit into the general category of "rock". This guitar is wonderful for everything that is in standard or dropped D tuning. But it is tremolo equipped so no dropped tunings. The Dragon IIs are nice, Ive quite warmed up to them with time. They can be split for the thinner single coil sound. Good bass from the neck, good crunch from the bridge. Very impressive tone control. Compared to the competitors - this guitar is the bees knees. The rosewood neck adds to the sustain.

As I've said in other reviews, this is a high-end PRS. In other words:
Finish = flawless
Action = perfect
Top = Stunning

Tuners are the best in the business. Trem is the best in the business. The pickups are top notch. I'd gig with it, no doubts. Do, actually. This guitar will go to my children, or to my grave when I die.

I have owned loads of guitars, currently own 3 PRS - this is the best guitar I own or have ever owned. The popcorn maple quilt top is stunning, the finish and hardware are flawless. The solid IRW neck is incredible, for sound, playability (nothing compares to a rosewood neck)...This guitar will never be sold. There's really nothing much to say here except this is, with no exaggeration, an incredible guitar.

I play classic rock, blues and country and this guitar excels at the rock and blues stuff .The solid rosewood neck gives it a darker richer sound than a mahogany neck guitar,not better just different (in a good way).This guitar sings .Probably the best sounding PRS guitar I own and the rosewood neck feels like silk in your hand .
I use Line 6 modeling amps .

I've been playing PRS guitars since 91' and they always come set up perfectly and this one was no exception .Pretty much flawless .It has a decent maple top for a non ten top and the black sunburst finish looks like glass .

Never had to deal with customer support but I've met Paul Smith and he's a very nice guy who really cares about his product and the people who use them .Saw him at a PRS dealer in Maryland and he gave me 2 free upgrade kits for some of my older PRS guitars and signed my guitars etc.

I'm 37 and have been playing since the 3th grade .I own many brands of guitars but my PRS guitars are usually the one's that get used the most . If I had one complaint it would be the price of PRS guitars .I hate to bash them because I am a big fan and they do produce a superior product , but it seems the bigger and more corporate,they get the higher the prices go .they switched to CNC machines in the mid 90's to produce the guitars but still charge 'hand made' prices .I'm sure they have high overhead with advertising and what not so that get's handed down to the consumer .what are ya gonna do,it's the way of the world .there's always ebay if you don't wanna pay for a new one .
