Well the chief feature of this Mark Tremonti signature model PRS is it's pick up's, are cranked and powerful sounding, with cove neck humbucker and open bobbin bridge like ole Jimmy Page's LP back in the Zep days, but more aggressive modern tone. The other distinctive feature is the up-routed trem which is not commonly found. The ink dye color and honey gloss finish are a PRS trademark and looks beautiful - (hang on wall as art). The wide neck allows easy finger board access and the slightly thiner 60's kind of neck makes play fast easy. The truss rod cove has Mark Tremonti name, and PRS provides a second blank truss rod cover with the guitar, nice touch if you don't worship the dude.

Sound : 9
Aggressive sound, with great trem dive bombing available with little tuning issues.
Good reang of tones when vol knobs turn down a bit.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
Flawless as in all PRS higher end goods.

Reliability/Durability : 10
Because of the beautiful gloss finish, one tend to handle with extra care to not nick the finish. The overall craftsmanship is very carefully executed, a PRS trade mark.

Customer Support : 10
PRS enjoys an enviable position among manufactures in this regard. My hat's off to Paul, whom I talked to on the phone in 1980ish and have watched the product line ever since, which only gets better all the time, with a wider range of product offerings all the time.

Overall Rating : No Opinion
The Tremonti is a bit like a swiss army knife guitar, does a lot, and if you solid trem this guitar is for you. If EVH were looking for an axe today he'd go for this.it.

2007 PRS Mark Tremonti, 22frets, set up like a gibby but w/PRS vol/tone config, the covered neck and open bobbin bridge give this guitar that ole Jimmy Page vibe, more on that later... mahogony neck and body with carved maple top, single cut, classic PRS bird inlay fret markers, this one is orange sunshine dye high gloss finish, very pretty indeed, innovative low mass tuners and HERE'S THE BIG ONE, a PRS trem, but with up routing (I believe this is the only PRS product outside the custom shop that provides an up routed trem), this whammy bar dives and flies with little tuning impact, very true. Overall a pleasure to look at and hold.

Sound : 8
This guitar with some Mark's pick up design is edgey, powerful and a step beyond sweet PAF, and but the aggression is more pleasant than some past PRS guitars (even the best have growing pains), dialing in voume and tone makes this guitar very versitle, and when played thru a decent tube amp and cranked a bit, (Matchless) then look out, you begin to feel the sound of that tempting rule the world kind of thing, you surf this guitar as much as you play it, especially given the stay tuned whammy. Modern edgey tone, a please to play. (An 8 because I'm old school and biased that the best tone was in the classic '59 Gibby LP's and early 60's Fendr Strats.) THat said if EVH was shoppin' today for that wanger he'd find this Tremonti suit and wear it out.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
Could you ever fault PRS with craftsmanship errors of any kind... can they keep this up on all their products? I hope so for all maner of player. They have the art-of-guitar locked up at the Smithsonian, or certainly should have. Wood, finish, ink dye colors, craftsmanship, feel, playability, intonation, just simple exquisit!

Reliability/Durability : 9
These are a bit delicate, if you are the type to worry about dings int he finish, but hey, nothing really lasts for ever, so go ahead and ding, it builds character, man. Look at those rugged Stone's faces, you think they ever cared about dings?! I digress, overall build is very solid, set neck guitar very solid, and tuners that stay tuned given considerable whammy wailing.

Customer Support : 8
Never had to contct PRS with anything, but have chatted with PRS reps in the past which was pleasant and informative. The PRS dealer was very no hassle straight.

Overall Rating : 9
1968 I rented my first humbucking Gibby E###, and was hooked; forever looking for the razor's edge of guitar tone. This leads to marrying and divorcing quite a few axes, due to this life long mission. That said nothing beats Fender and Gibson vintage reissues for tone, custom shop if u can afford it, but PRS makes modern day classics and they have dailed in some great features in their current product line up. Just check out the Tremonti, or the mellower classic LP-like 245. Best value out there and it's nearly art work. Play today my friends.

2002 Tremonti Signature Model (pre-lawsuit and pre-tremelo bridge). All black high gloss finish with maple binding. Locking tuners, fat neck, bird inlays with "Mark Tremonti" inlay at the 12th fret. Covered Dragon 2000 pickup at the neck (see below) and the custom Tremonti pickup at the bridge. Volume and tone control for each pickup and 3-way toggle.

Sound : 10
At first I had to fight this thing to get the sounds I wanted. Right now I'm just playing through a Mesa Triple Rec with a Mesa 4x12 cab, a Morley wah in front of it, with a Boss chorus in the FX loop (clean channel only). The neck pickup was so much hotter than I was used to at that point that I had to roll the gain way back to get away from the white noise. When I finally found the sweet spot on the gain and got the amp EQ'd right, the guitar took on a life of it's own. Every bit of attack, tone, and character comes through under moderate to high gain rhythm playing (Metallica, RATM, STP, Green Day, Alter Bridge, Nickelback, and the like), and leads are scorching and razor sharp anywhere on the neck, especially with some wah action. I had to wrestle the amp again for a good clean sound, but once that was solved this axe shined again. Very warm and bright sounding with either pickup...great with finger picking and strumming alike. The volume and tone controls are great. Without changing any amp settings, I can toggle between a sweet warm blues tone (neck) and a balls out rock sound (bridge), which of course if the idea behind any PRS. The thing just sounds bad ass.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
I got the guitar off ebay. As the previous owner was more of a collector than a player, the guitar lived under a bed (or something like that) for a good 5 years or so. When it came to me the finish was still flawless, and the action was already perfect, low and smooth up and down the neck...true to PRS' reputation. In fact when I took it in to the shop for a routine checkup, I asked the tech there not to mess with the setup at all. I won't award a 10 here since technically this guitar is used and 7 years old.

Reliability/Durability : 10
I haven't done any gigging with this thing, but it's seen plenty of action in my living room thus far, and there haven't been any issues. Everything I've ever read said that PRS guitars are as road worthy as anything, and I don't have any reason to question that based on what I've experienced with this, my first PRS.

Customer Support : 5
I e-mailed customer service with a question about the pickups that were installed in the guitar, and the customer support manager could not answer the question (see overall rating for story). How could this be?? Luckily it was not a life threatening issue. If nothing else, I got a response very quickly.

Overall Rating : 10
This guitar seemed like a natural upgrade from my last one; custom built douple cut rock/metal suited axe w/22 frets. Gibson neck/stop piece, and EMG 81/85 pickups. Awesome choice! Initially I noticed that the guitar had a Dragon 2000 pickup at the neck. As I understood it, Tremonti's always came with the Tremonti custom treble and bass pickups. Apparently not the case? From reading other reviews on this site I see that several other guitars made around the same time came with the Dragon pickup. Unfortunately, asking PRS customer service yielded no answers. Assuming that the guitar simply came with the wrong pickup installed, I swapped out the Dragon for the Tremonti bass pickup, with surprisingly noticable results. With that issue settled (at least in my mind), this is one amazing and powerfull axe. In fact, the quality and performance of this guitar have made me a better player in the 4 short months I've owned it. This is simply an awesome axe in my opinion, as a Tremonti fan, and now as a PRS fan as well.

Made in 2007 with a one piece flame maple 10 top.
2 Volume 2 Tone knobs, 3 way pickup selector
Tremonti signature pickups are well voiced and can cover sounds from jazz/blues all the way to metal. The bridge pickup is very hot for a passive pickup and neck has a little less output, more of a vintage sound. My guitar came with the whale blue finish and featured a ten top flame maple 1 piece top (unbelievable looking!)
The new tremolo system is awesome, you can divebomb and whammy all day and thing still stays in tune perfectly. The neck is just right for me, not too thin and not to thick. Overall just a beautful instrument.

Sound : 9
Like I said it can cover everything from blues to metal. Ive tried it on various amps and it definately sounds great with a nice tube amp. However, I do run it through my solid state line 6 practice amp and it sounds great plugged into that too. The pickups are pretty quiet and are very hot for passive pickups. Before this guitar I used active pickups and it has taken a little time to get used to the passive pickups, but the tone is superb and is so clean and clear.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
Came set up perfectly, everything was just right. I was lucky enough to get a 1 piece ten top, and let me tell you it is breathtaking. The bridge was set up perfectly as well. The only thing I adjusted was the action, as it was a tad high for my taste. The neck was perfectly straight and the fret work was great too. I still don't know how get those inlays to be so perfect, they are perfectly flush and there are no seams at all, its perfect. When spending this much money on a guitar I feel that all of these things should be perfect, however with many other companies they sadly, are not. PRS makes a great quality instrument and the fit and finish was perfect.

Reliability/Durability : 10
Definately a reliable and well made guitar, could withstand endless amounts of live playing. Definately dependable and is now my number one guitar!

Customer Support : No Opinion
Haven't had to deal with them so I honestly don't know.

Overall Rating : 9
I have been playing for a long time and have owned various other high end instruments. While some of the other instruments had great and comparable quality to the PRS, such as my ESP custom shop, they just didn't sound as good or feel as good. If this guitar was stolen or lost I would probably cry because I don't think I can afford to buy another lol. I love singlecut guitars and the bottome line is, if you can afford to get one this is the best single cut guitar available. I know, I have played pretty much every single cut out there, and this one has more features and just stands above the rest. If you have the money go for it, you won't regret it.

Mark Tremonti 2007 Model. This is the 2nd version with the trem and Wide Thin Neck. Features the full size single cut body with no weight relief chambers. This one is kind of heavy, 9.5 lbs. The neck is also more along the regular profile not really a typical PRS wide thin at least at the lower frets. Features 2 volume, 2 tone, 3 -way switch, locking tuners, Tremonti Treble and Bass pickups. Mine is a not a 10 top, but still a pretty good amount of flame on the Black Cherry finish. I'll give it a 9 because coil taps would have made this more versatile.

Sound : 10
I play everything from metal to blues. This thing can cover most of those bases. The treble pickup is hot and can get the modern metalish sounds really well. I'm a big Alter-Bridge/Creed fan, but this guitar can get much more than just those sounds. I also play a lot of Ozzy/Sabbath/Metallica/Maiden, etc. and this guitar can do most of the old-school metal sounds as well. The bass pickup can do a really great clean sound and it's pretty clear, not muddy. That being said it can do a nicer bluesey tone as well. I have owned several Les Pauls over the years and this one can easily cover those sounds. The bridge pickup is a little too hot for a great clean for country or jazz, but with the volume rolled off it can easily cover clean classic rock or blues rythem.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
The guitar was setup perfect. No action or neck adjustments needed. The factory 9s were okay, but I prefer 10s on most of my guitars especially if I tune down to Eb. Only took a couple of turns on the claw adjustment screws to level out the trem. The finish was flawless and no defects that I could see with the workmanship. Fretwork was also flawless. Just what you'd expect from PRS. Never had a Gibson I could say that about.

Reliability/Durability : 10
Don't think I will have any issues with relability. With the trem, I'd always want a backup for string break-age or tuning issues.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Never dealt with them.

Overall Rating : 10
I've been playing for 17+ years now and I've owned a lot of guitars. I've had 4 Gibsons, 81 Les Paul Deluxe, 89 LP Custom, 2 98 DC Standards. This guitar blows all of them away. I also own a Heritege CM H150 LP Copy (Class of 59 Model) with Korina body/neck and Brazilian fretboard. This guitar can easily hold it's own with that guitar with regard to everything except weight. I also have a PRS Hiland, and a Edenhaus Custom Strat. This guitar has become my new favorite for Metal/Rock. I'd certianly buy it again if something happened to it. PRS is certainly expensive, but you do get what you pay for. Compared to Gibson, there models are a much better value when you compare the workmanship, playability, and sound of the instruments.

This guitar is a beauty...flame top, single-cut with the Phase II locking tuners...this is the one with the tremolo that you can pull up...totally stays in tune even when I try to do some bombs or wails using it. The wide-thin neck is similar to the necks on LP 60's necks...the PRS neck, however, is a lot smoother to play on; doesn't feel as rough and impersonal as a Gibson does. I've played Gibsons and they just don't bond with you. Came with a nice hardshell case...looks like I'm carrying some very important stuff in there...25 inch scale guitar with two volumes and two tone controls. You can make this thing sound like a strat if you want to. The tremonti picksups are very powerful, yet clear and give excellent sustain. To my surprise, however, I was so happy to get this thing that I didn't notice one of the tuning pegs has some wear underneath it...like the polish is coming off or something..so I am contacting my dealer about this to see if they can do something. I'll contact PRS next...

Sound : 10
I play mostly lead/rhythm for church rock band. This guitar gives me the power I need plus the versatility when i need to do leads. The treble pickup sounds clean and very well-defined. When I play low, I get the power I need, but don't get the muddy growl that I used to get with my Gibson (Raw Power Model). It sounds powerful, but clear. Very nice.

Through my rig, which includes a Boss NS-2, line 6 DM4, Fender Tuner, Boss Chorus, Ibanez Weeping Demon, and then the Line 6 DL4, this things is quiet. No hisses or pickup noise at all. But most of my guitars come through pretty quiet anyway.

I really like the neck feeling buttery smooth and the tremolo on this guitar. The only thing I would complain about right now is that damned tuning peg with the finish coming off. I hope I can get that replaced or something.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 8
Other than the tuning peg showing a little wear, The action was pretty high, but not bad out of the store. HOwever, the dealer I bought from set it up for free. Wow...They did a good job. It's perfect right now. Pickups were also adjusted. Everything else is beautiful on this guitar. Everyone knows the reputation PRS has for making beautiful guitars. Everyone who has sseen this guitar just stares and stares...it's a work of art almost. Too bad it'll get scratches, etc. because of use. Oh well, there's more to come hopefully. I'm only

Reliability/Durability : 9
Haven't used it yet for gigging (will use it in two weeks), but it's pretty light compared to my LP. I'll definitely be using this more.... No back pain :)

Of course, I wish I can protect this thing from scratches, but just naturally, I think it'll scratch.

Customer Support : 9
Well, havent' heard back from PRS regarding the tuning peg. But I just got off the phone with the dealer and they suggested i bring it by for them to take a look at it. It seems they stand by PRS products. We'll see. Other times i have emailed PRS, they're pretty good about getting back to me.

Overall Rating : 9
I would definetly buy it again....maybe a different color this time. I've been playing for about 6 years, and I have played Ibanez Jems, Gibsons, Fenders, and Fernandes Elites (which are pretty good because of the sustainer system) and this PRS is now my main guitar. I love the look, the sound, the PRS heritage and the evolution that this guitar has taken, especially with the up-routing on the tremolo.

Features : 10
Great, you can get tons of different sounds by experimenting with the pickup selector and the volme and tone knobs. I prefer the les paul style individual volume and tone to the master volume found on most other PRS's

Sound : 10
This guitar has a really good clean sound. But it shines at moderate to high gain. the neck goes from clean to moderate gain and the bridge can do clean but is made for high gain. I have tried other PRS's (custom 22/24 Singlecut) all good but the tremonti sounds the best to me. It can do anything from jazz to metal and everything in between. My only complaint is when you roll the volume off on the neck pickup it can get a little too bassy for my taste.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
I got mine used there were a few dents but overall good condition. The inlay work on this guitar is amazing you can't tell the inlays fromthe fretboard. The black finish looks very classy/classic to me.

Reliability/Durability : 10
Seems solid. Gigged with it once without backup and it did fine.

Overall Rating : 10
The tremonti isn't cheap but is definatly worth the money. It has tone perfect for my style which is sort of blues to hard rock. If it were stolen i would be really mad because i had to work hard to get this guitar, but i would buy it again if i could save up the money. PRS has great quality control so you really never get a bad guitar. I highly recommend the tremonti.

See the PRS website for exact specs...mine is the Platinum finish...came with a hardshell yada yada the usual! It has the Tremonti Treble in the bridge...nice pickup....2002 made in USA Locking PRS tuners...great adjustable bridge.....mine had the tonepros posts installed....sweet! I love buying guitars from people who know what they r doin!

Sound : 10
This review is for a 2002 PRS Mark Tremonti Singlecut in the Platinum finsh. I play a Rock/Hard Rock...I am using the Tremonti through a Mesa 3ch Triple Recto/Marshall 1960 cab setup into a BBE Sonic Max to a Rackmount ISP Decimator. The sound is very crunchy and well defined. The cleans are very full and defined. The clarity that this guitar shows is just great! Very happy with the overall performance for this guitar! The PRS pickups are not super noisy but do produce that great Mark Tremonti "crunch" that I was looking to get. I also Play a Custom shop Les Paul Custom w/ Emg's and these two guitars work well together in my setup. No real dislikes yet..I have only had it a short time but it is a great piece.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
Since this was an Ebay purchase I can't really vouch for the Factory setup. I will say that the previous owner too very good care of this guitar and it arrived to me in great condition and a good setup. This is a PRS...the Finish smokes my new Gibson Custom.....So sad...but good for PRS!

Reliability/Durability : 10
The Tremonti will definetly withstand a live setting....the hardware seems strong and sturdy...this is a very very well built instrument. THe Finsh is awesome...I love the Platinum...anyone can get a a Black guitar. I would trust to gig it without a backup...I would still take a backup though.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Nope Never had to deal.

Overall Rating : No Opinion
I have been playing on and off for a few years and I own way way too much stuff...I am very pleased with the Mark Tremonti. The best part of this guitar is the overall look and feel. The birds on the fretboard are a great touch to this guitar.....the only gripe I may have is the Vol./Tone are switched around from the style of my Les Paul....I'll just have to get used to it or get it reset-up. I bought the guitar b/c for years I have wanted a PRS Tremonti...and now that my bitch girlfriend is gone I got one! If it were stolen I would be really broken up....then I would slowly torture the person who stole it.

This is a top-quality, American made guitar. It looks like a Les Paul redesigned by a slightly more advanced civilization. It has a ton of balls. Every note is rich and creamy, yet articulate and clear, and power chords hit you like a dumptruck. It has the most crushing gain of any guitar I've ever played, but somehow, the clean tone is delicious. You usually get one or the other - I don't know how they did that.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
Perfect.

They blacked out Tremonti's name on the 12th fret too. Nothing against him, just don't want to look like a fanboy. I am a professional.

Reliability/Durability : No Opinion
It looks like it's biult like a brick shithouse. Other reviews have complained about the finish, claiming it is thin and easily chipped, but I'd rather that than the thick, tone-killing poly that is standard on most mass-production guitars.

Durability - I have not gigged it yet, right now it's the hotel guitar, so I can't say. It's not right for the gig I'm in at the moment, but it's just a matter of time before I find the proper setting - probably hard music.

Customer Support : 10
Excellent. I am an endorsee though, so I'm a bit biased.

Let's just get this straight - they don't pay me. I'm taking the time to do this review for free, because I like this guitar. I've gotten guitars from other companies that were crap. You won't see me gushing over them just because they were free. Who has the time?

Overall Rating : 9
I don't like the layout of the tone controls. If you are or have ever been a LP player they are counter-intuituive. I'm thinking of switching them to the LP layout - apparently that is a common mod on this guitar. Also, I can't use it with the violin bow bc the top is a little flatter than a LP and the volume knob gets in the way. Probably not a problem for you.

The tag says "02-20-2003", black finish (very nice!!), excellent pickups, bird-inlays and a Mark Tremonti inlay on the 12th fret... I think all the features have already been pointed out.

I like the 3-way toggle switch, which I find a lot easier to use then the 5-way rotary on my Custom 22. The 5-way rotary offers a couple of nice switching options, producing sweet clean tones, though...

One thing that takes a little getting used to, are the volume and tone controls. Controls for the bridge PU are located too far away, IMHO...

Sound : 10
I play mainly alternative rock. Think of bands like Creed, Pearl Jam, Bush, etc. This guitar gives me the exact tone I want! Compared to my Custom 22, the Tremonti has more low-end punch, more sustain and just basically sounds better (smoother, warmer) when playing single notes.

I use a Mesa Triple Rectifier on a Brunetti XL Cab (V30's) and this guitar really gets things going! Cleans are very good (warm and full), but hi-gain playing is what this guitar is meant for!

Basically: if you play a lot of guitar-driven rock, want a guitar that performs very well overall, but really rules when switching to hi-gain, then this guitar is for you!

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
Since I bought it used, I can't really say anything about the factory set-up. IMHO this guitar lives up to the PRS-standard! Finish looks excellent, guitar feels well-balanced... I don't think it's ever going to let me down. Fender and Gibson can learn a lot from these guys...

Reliability/Durability : 10
I haven't tried it live, yet, but I see no problem in doing so! Solid mahogany, solid strap buttons... Only thing I really have to worry about is breaking strings. I think I can really depend on it!

Customer Support : No Opinion
Never dealt with them..

Overall Rating : 10
I have been playing for 10 years, now. I own a Fender Big Apple strat, a PRS Custom 22, Mesa Triple Rectifier, Brunetti XL Cab and a PRS Tremonti Model! :) Only thing I can say is, I wish I tried this guitar earlier!

I love this guitars' looks, sound and feel! It really rocks! No complaints here!

I bought this guitar used, so to me, it's gruit value for money. A while back, I thought about buying it new, but changed my mind when I saw the price-tag... I know it's Tremonti's signature guitar, but at that price... I'd rather buy a standard single-cut and put in the Tremonti PU's!!

2002 model, black finish, wide-fat neck profile, custom Tremonti pickups, bird inlays, locking tuners and an adjustable stoptail bridge. Singlecut/Les Paul-style body shape.

This guitar is pimp. The finish looks awesome, and minor pick marks are easily buffed out. I had originally intended on buying the platinum version, but ended up changing my mind. Black looks awesome, but anybody who's ever owned a black guitar knows that they're a pain to keep clean.

Sound : 10
I play a lot of rock and metal, mostly Creed, Metallica, Godsmack, and I mess around with a little bit of bluesy stuff. This guitar is perfect for what I play. But then again, it should be, since it was designed by Mark Tremonti for exactly that kind of music.

I'm running it through a Peavey StudioPro 112 right now, and have been for about 8-9 months now, but any day I should be getting a new 3-channel Dual Rectifier. The sound is pretty damn good, considering I'm running a $2000+ guitar into a $300 amp. Single notes played over ringing chords get a little muddy, but I think that reflects more on the amp than the guitar.

The pickups in this guitar are metal pickups, face it. The bridge pickup is insanely hot, and is perfect for heavy distortion. "What If" and "One Step Closer"-style harmonics come through very easily. Clean, it's a little too bright for me. I do pretty much all of my clean tones through the neck pickup, which is incredibly full-sounding, and not at all overly trebly. If you've ever heard Creed live, that's pretty much the kind of clean tone to expect from this guitar.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
The only problem I've noticed so far with it is a little bit of fret buzz, but it's only really heard when played unplugged. Everything else about it is flawless, from the paint to the natural binding and the bird inlays, everything about this guitar is visually perfect.

I'm not sure how the guitar came from the factory, because the shop did a setup on it before I picked it up. Intonation is spot-on all around the neck, deviating 2-3 cent at the most, and the only time I ever have to tune it is when the seasons change.

Reliability/Durability : 9
I've bumped the headstock on this guitar once, and it shows no marks from it. Hopefully the rest of the guitar will hold up the same way, but I realize that dings are an inevitability, especially if gigged regularly. I wouldn't ever gig without a backup, in case of string breakage or whatever, but I can't see any problems with this guitar. I've yet to play a gig with it yet, though, so we'll see.

Limited lifetime warranty on the guitar. I've e-mailed PRS a couple times about various things, and they've always been very quick and helpful. Haven't had to deal with them in regards to the guitar yet, though, so I can't give them a perfect rating yet.

Overall Rating : 10
I've been playing for about a year and a half now, and I'm starting to upgrade a lot of my equipment. My first electric guitar was an Ibanez RG520 that I got rid of because I hated the neck, and then I bought this. I also own a Peavey StudioPro 112, which will be getting replaced with a Mesa Dual Recto within the next week. I also have an Alvarez AD60SC, and a Morley Bad Horsie wah.

I don't think I could ever play anything but a wide-fat neck now. Anything else seems too small in my hands, even though my hands aren't huge. The only thing I wish this guitar had was a tremolo option, and I'd buy another one.

If someone stole it, I'd beat them down with an iron bat. This guitar is awesome. No need for anything fancy here, this thing's just a balls-to-the-wall rock machine.

i play the 2001 version of the Tremonti, it has 22 frets, tremonti pickups, maple neck and body.

Sound : 10
This guitar is amazing, i run this threw a line6 POD, then through a marhsall JCM DSl 2000 super lead, the guitar gives that nice crunch that your lookin for when playing hard rock, it mostly has a rich full sound that gives you a great metal outcome.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
this guitar is virtually flawless, i love everything about it, the pickups were adjusted and fine tuned perfectly, i would say this is the best guitar i have ever bought

Reliability/Durability : 10
This guitar will withstand anything, the hardwear seems like it will last forever, and the finish is even better, it doest seem to scratch at all and will hold up under any conditions, i would depend on this guitar over any other one.

Customer Support : 10
ive never had a problem with the guitar so i would have to say it is excellent

The model I played is a '00 or '01 I think. The guitar was made in the USA. It has 22 Large Frets. The neck also has PRS bird inlays and a Mark Tremonti logo at the 12th fret. The top is solid maple and the back is mahogany. There are 2 tone and 2 volume controls along with 3 way toggle switch. The pickup config. is dual humbuckers. The neck pickup is a chrome-covered PRS Dragon 2, while the bridge pickup is a Tremonti Model. The PRS pickups are passive. The neck is mahogany. The finish is gloss black. Les Paul type body style. The bridge is a wrap around stop tail. The tuners are 14:1 PRS locking tuning machines with ebonized buttons. The neck carve is a wide fat neck carve.

Sound : 10
I play alot of Metal and Rock like Metallica, Incubus, Creed, Megadeth and a bunch of original work. I run it through a Mesa/Boogie 2x12 cabinet with black shadow speakers and a Crate GFX 12OOH head. I use a Boss CH-1 Super Chorus pedal occasionaly. The sound is extremely quiet...this thing can really howl and scream when you want it to. The sound on clean is quiet and very full. On distortion this guitar screams. Its excellent. The guitar has a wide range of tones. I like everything about this guitar.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
The guitar was set up perfectly. The pickups were also perfect. The guitar had some glue marks from the frets but nothing major. Everything else was great.

Reliability/Durability : 10
The guitar would more than withstand live playing. I would use it every night defintely, because I wouldn't need another guitar. The hardware will last. Everything will hold up. I would replace the strap buttons with schaller strap locks, just because thats what I have on all my guitars. I could definitely depend on it. I would never play a gig without a backup.

Customer Support : 10
I haven't dealt with the company. The warranty is 2 years.

I have been playing guitar for 4 years and I own an Ibanez RG470, an Ibanez RG220, a USA Jackson Randy Rhoads RR1, and an Ibanez MAE-S60. I play through a 1970 Yamaha Combo that I modified from 100 watts to 200 watts. I use a BOSS Metal Zone, a BOSS CH-1 Super Chorus, a Dunlop Cry Baby Wah, an Ernie Ball Volume Pedal, and a Morley Bad Horsie 2 Wah. I also use Seymour Duncan pickups and Monster Cables. If it were stolen, I would definitely buy another one. I love everything about it. I compared it to other PRS's and Les Pauls and it blew them both away in sound and looks.

Everybody knows the features. Black, Singlecut, solid maple top on a mahogany body. Awesome Guitar. Sold an amber Les Paul to get mine. Glad I did it.. I have a telecaster, I play it only because of the perfect neck. The Tremonti is the only LesPaul set neck that I personally have run across that is close to my tele neck in playablilty. I found mine from a poor guy that was getting transferred from New York to a one bedroom apartment in Japan and was unloading alot of great gear cheap. I got lucky.. I love this guitar, and It will remain one of my "treasure" guitars forever.. just like my ash tele. The others may come and go, but this one stays... I am giving a 9 in this category, just because the mother of pearl birds on mine seem a bit bland.. no real grain or color, and sort of plasticky looking. 3k guitar oughta bleed richness.

Sound : 9
WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOA!
Do you rock? Do you play clean AND distorted? It does both great. Never noisy, real balanced sound.. my amps sound great with the eq knobs set on 5, dont have to compensate like with my tele. Real good variety on the sounds.. but you wont easily run up on a "twang" sound with this guitar.
I like it because it doesnt push my amps as "easily" into distortion as my old LesPaul.. The paul seems to always want to distort when the amps are cranked, even a little.. this guitar seems to let the amps play clean, loud, a little better...

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
perfect, everything.. action a tiny tad high, but you gotta live with that dropping that e string. it was set perfect for the kind of music it was designed to play. no flaws when I got it.

Reliability/Durability : 10
seems to be a mule.. The gloss paint sure makes me paranoid, though.. i almost want to put a paul pickguard on it.. strap hangers are solid, seems very dependable.. the paint seems thick, but it IS black... I am a long way from being good enough to play in front of a crowd, but my buddy (with his 59 historic) keeps begging me to take it to a gig to play it. (not that he would leave the 59 with me for the night.. lol)

Dunno.. cant imagine needing them

1 glorius year. am std tele, ovation ac/el balladeer, reverend slingshot (p-90s), cheap jasmine/takamine acoustic (my very first one). Currently saving for a natural prs swamp ash w/ stoptail. (I love those necks!)
I rate this a fantastic value at the price I paid. 1695 + shipping. I dont believe I could go a 10, if I had paid 3k +, it might have to be an 8. Alot of money for a CNC manufactured, assembly line painted guitar.

2002 Model, US made, Mahogany Body and neck, Rosewood Fingerboard, 2 humbuckers two volume and two tone knobs, 3 way pickup selector, tune o matic bridge, locking tuners, 10 inch radius neck with wide fat neck carve, all black with black hardware..... Real Classy looking!!

Sound : 10
I play in a cover band which does everything from Creed to Fuel, Nickelback, Hoobastank, P.O.D., Linkin Park, Puddle Of Mudd etc.... You get the picture!!! Amplifier wise I am fortunate to have just purchased the new Line 6 Vetta Head with the Line 6 Vetta FBX Foot Controller, and two Line 6 Vetta 4/12" Cabinets with specially voiced Celestions running stereo left and right. The only other piece of gear I run into the amplifier is a Sony Wireless unit. That's it!
This guitar just brings out the best in the Vetta amplifier. It's a really stellar combination. The cleans are crystal clear and pristine, and when you kick this baby into the overdrive models on the amp it's just pure ecstasy. Warmth and sustain for days with the fullest body of sound I have ever heard. Provided I don't break a string I can usualy do a whole show with this one guitar. Great job PRS!!

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
The setup out of the factory was O.K but the truss rod had to be adjusted because during shipping they leave them loose. Other than that the action was ultra low the pickups were at spec as far as height adjustment goes as was string tension. Before I took it home Randy from Guitar Center checked every nook and cranny to make sure it was ready to roll with no defects and no visuable scars. I really love the neck on this guitar. For a neck its size it plays like butter.

Reliability/Durability : 10
I have a PRS Mc Carty that is now four years old and has been through the mill and is still kicking. That alone should tell you all you need to know!! As long as I don't break a string I use it for a whole show. The only thing I did was put schaller locks on it thats it!!

Customer Support : 9
Haven't dealt with them yet but I have heard really good things!! Warranty is 2 years. For a guitar of this price I feel it should be like the Gibson Lifetime warranty.

Overall Rating : 10
I have been playing guitar since 1975 at the young age of 6 yrs old and I am now 32 married with a five year old little girl who wants to start playing too. A lot has changed over the years and through it all I finally am satisfied with my gear. IT TOOK almost twenty years but it was time well spent. If it were lost or stolen I would collect the insurance money and go get another one pronto.
TAKE NOTE PEOPLE: PRS offers for sale its pickups online and when I checked to pick up another Tremonti humbucker to dump in an old Hamer I own guess what, they don't list it. After some digging I have come to find out that the so called Tremonti pickup that PRS puts in this model is nothing more than the GIBSON T - 500 HUMBUCKER that comes standard on the Gibson Les Paul Classic coincidentially the very same guitar Mark Tremonti used before switching to his signature PRS.
So then why did I buy it over the Les Paul Classic?? Well for one, the Gibson Les Paul Classic I already own and as hard as I play I have to retune it time and time again and believe me I tried everything to fix this problem. Second, I really like the neck pickup on this guitar as it gives me great versatility. And finally when it came right down to it, this guitar was much better balanced than the Les Paul Classic ( don't get me wrong I love my Les Paul) and overall it just played much better and easier than the LP Classic. And to boot the Gibson 500 T is right there in the bridge and that pickup just screams. Go check one out and put it up against a Les Paul Classic. You'll see immeadiately what I'm talking about.

Made 11-01 in USA. 22 frets. Only available with a black finish (1 of 2 issues I have with it). 2 vol, 2 tone, 3-way LP toggle. 2 PRS Tremonti model pickps - PRS told me bridge is like a HFS and neck is like a PRS7. Les Paul body style. PRS adjustable stop tail. 14 to 1 low mass locking tuners w/Ebonized buttons. 10in radius
Rosewood fretboard, Mother of pearl bird inlays; special Mark Tremonti 12th fret inlay, Wide-fat neck carve only.

Sound : 10
Really suits my music style, which is heavy rock. I use an ADA MP-1 with a BBE, 31 band EQ and BOSS digital reverb. Something new in my experience is that the middle position offers a reasonably acceptable clean sound. This guitar really needs some standard PRS push/pull pot action to give it a total range of sound (my other major issue).

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
The set-up only needed the slightest tweaking, but I'm really anal about that kind of stuff. Everything looks great with some of the best workmanship I've seen. It fits really comfortably. The mandatory black finish is my biggest thing, as black is so hard to maintain. C'mon PRS, give us some options.

Reliability/Durability : 9
The hardware appears really durable. I always put Schaler strap buttons on all my guitars. I feel it will be very dependable. I feel I could use it on a gig w/out a backup. The finish really appears solid and that it'll last a long time. I'm used to bolt-on necks and feel like I have to pamper this guitar, especially as much as it costs.

Customer Support : 5
I want to put a push/pull pot on the bridge pickup and discovered the diameter on their pots is larger than standard. So I contacted Customer Support a few times by e-mail and by phone to see if they carry the correct size. E-mail was always responded to, but some of the answers were not complete or not all the questions were answered. When contacted by phone, they took several days to answer, citing having to do inventory. Honesty, I just dropped a nice chunk of change on their product and as a customer, I really expect the best service.

Overall Rating : 9
I've been playing over 15 years and I own other guitars including original Kramers, ESPs, Ibanez, Fender, Music Man, Charvel, Washburn, and Hamer. Before buying this guitar I wish I would've thought about buying a regular Singlecut model and installing the adjustable bridge. If it were lost or stolen, I would replace it with a regular Singlecut model. I love the sound, the craftsmanship, the hardware and the electronics - the black finish is my only complaint. I really can't compare it to any of my other guitars, as this is a LP-style shape and all my others are Strat-style. I'd like it to come with push/pull pots, but I can always install that myself.

2001 Model, made in USA...single-cut solid top with Black finish & cream binding...looks beautiful...Neck has 22 frets...feels short making it easy to play. The neck has a shallow curve and fits nicely in hand--it's easy to reach any chord shape and easy to move up and down the neck quickly. Bridge is PRS fixed bridge--guitar never ever goes out of tune, even after playing hard--this is helped by locking tuners with great gear ratios--never have to turn it more than 1/8 to get a whole step lower or higher. 2 pickups: Bridge is a chrome-plater PRS Dragon great for round, full clean tone; treble is Mark Tremonti's custom pick-up (no cover)--it has amazing warm crunch that is crystal clear and not at all fuzzy. Searing on lead...both have individual volume and tone controls, plus a 3-way selector switch...comes with tools for setting intonation , etc...wish it had 24 frets so I'd have 12 more notes to play on it.

Sound : 10
Fits my style just right--perfect for hard, guitar-driven rock...this is how Creed makes that fat, warm crunch (listen to Creed's "What If")...sounds great without much processing...I'm running it through a Line 6 POD into a Marshall JCM 900 stack--awesome crunch...clean tone is clear & full, bass pickup never sounds overdriven when playing clean, but treble pickup will add extra presence/ brightness if overdriven clean tone is what you're after. No unwanted feedback--never noisy...it's the tone I've been after.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
Action is super low & super fast...it practically plays itself...one suggestion--if you drop D alot, set the string height on the low E a little higher so it doesn't buzz at the nut when you do drop it...factory set-up included 9 gauge strings--I had 10's put on so the thicker gauge might account for the buzz at the nut when I drop D, so maybe using the 9's would eliminate the prob...anyway, can't hear the buzz through the amp and sounds perfect in standard tuning.

Reliability/Durability : 10
Well built...tight and flawless...everything is designed to increase playability...finish is flawless. Strap buttons are really solid. Would definitely paly without a back-up.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Haven't had to use it yet...guitar is new, but is warranteed.

Overall Rating : 10
Been playing for 13 years...own a Marshall JCM 900, Line 6 POD Pro with POD footboard (with switchable effects, volume, WAH pedals)...would definitely buy this guitar again. Love the treble pickup crunch and the fast action....the tuners and bridge are rock solid...it's like a perfect Les Paul--one with better balance, better tone, and lower action.

This is just an observation, but the Tremonti models are cheaper than the normal singlecuts. Not cheap as in the poorly made sense, but cheap as in the price wise sense. If you just want a Singlecut PRS and dont mind another guys name in the 12th fret, get the Tremonti model. The bridge humbucker is hotter than the stock PRS SC bridge, too hot for me.

i took a road trip with my dad and my friend to guitar center in rochester, ny. great place, adam the salesman was the greatest guy.
this is a 2001 model, mad in the usa of course. looks soo nice and shiny. im not gonna describe how it looks, you can see that on the official prs site. 2 volume and 2 tone knobs,3 way switch on upper part. same as a les paul except the pickup controls are swtiched. the pickups are: dragon 2 in neck, and tremonti pickup in bridge. im pretty sure they are passive. not quite sure of the woods. prolly mohagony. singelcutaway of course(my fav) its heavy but not as heavy as a les paul. perfect. prs wraparound bridge(great), amazing locking tuners. the neck is amazing, wide and flat. low action comes with case and everything. i love the stuff i can do with the les paul style controls. toggle switch cutting off and all that stuff.

Sound : 10
this guitar kicks so much ass. suites my style perfect. i like creed, godsmack,311,incubus,metallica,hoobustank, etc. im using it through a mesa boogie rectoverb 1x12 combo with a morley bad horsie wah in between. thats it. this guitar puts out so much crunch and low end i had to adjust the amp eq from where i had it when i had my les paul. not noisy at all. a lot quiet than the les paul, doesnt feedback usually. the modern setting on the rectoverb just blows the house down, so much great low end great highs, and even with little mids its very crunchy. the tremonti pickup is very hot and high output. sounds great distorted and clean. but better dirty. the neck pickup is very full sounding and well rounded. a perfect match. this guitar will blow you away

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
the guitar came with perfect intonation, great strings, great pickup adjustment. the top is flawless. the guitar was flawless.

Reliability/Durability : 10
if this is good enough for mark tremonti then i guess its great for a long time live. the guitar is solid built great. hardare is real solid. the finish is great and cleans up real nice after playing. i replaced the strap buttons right away with shaller strap locks, but i could tell that they were great. i can always depend on the gear i got. its perfect. i would definetly use it without backup, i have to i dont have anything to back it up with. lol

ive been playing about 3 years. i won a mesa roctoverb, this guitar, a morley bad horsie wah, a dod dd-3 delay, and a dod fx747 flanger. if my guitar was stolen or lost i dont know what i'd do, but if i had the money id get another one. i love the everything about the guitar. but i wish the tremonti pickup was covered kinda. and i want to put my name in the 12th fret. i compared it to a gibson les paul custom, a prs singlecut, a custom 22, a prs mccarty. this kicked their ass through a dual recto half stack. i wish both the pickups had coil tapping. that would be the ultimate. a maple or ebony fretboard would have been nice. but it looks and plays great with the rosewood

Luckily, one of these showed up at a local music shop around tax refund time. Great sounding guitar. This thing sounds bigger than it really is. The Tremonti pickups are very meaty, and truly muscular. The sustain is slightly above average It feels like a perfect playing Les Paul with a faster neck carve. It is easier to play than that of a Strat-style, or even a Les Paul, because of the low action and fatigue reduction It has a standard 3-way toggle on the upper bout, 2 tone and volume knobs, stop tailpiece, 22 frets, wide-fat neck carve, 2 humbuckers (truly big-sounding), standard Les Paul wiring, and mother of pearl inlays (Tremonti's name at the 12th fret).

Sound : 10
If you play any type of hard rock, or metal, than this guitar is well worth the purchase price. The pickups do not feed back on most tube amps (think Mesa Boogie Triple Recs, Marshall JCMs, and sound very muscular! If you have ever heard Creed live, or Metallica live, than you know the chunky attack and smooth decay I am referring to. The tone of the entire guitar is superb, with a nice neck joint that adds a little sustain. Expect your clean tones to sound thicker in the bridge position, and glassier in the neck. The cleans don't have to be turned down on the guitar at all. Overall 10+ rating! Try this thing and you will see. Very huge sound for anything you want. Try keeping the stock Tremonti pickups or you won't get the best sound out of this. (Don't worry, you actually will WANT to keep the stock pickups! They should be available by themselves!)

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
Nicely built. Nice neck joint, low action, no fret buzz, great intonation, perfect paint job PRS guitars are known for quality construction. The fretbaord is flawless, and the paint job is superb. The switch and knobs work tightly, and are accurately placed. The action is low, and does not buzz at all. Barre chords and string shredding licks will easily be played on this guitar. Bookmatching is not visible (balck finish only). No adjusting necessary. The nut is well placed, and the tuners keep their place. Overall, worth the money.

Reliability/Durability : 10
Anyone who really likes a big sound should be happy to use this guitar live. Every aspect of this guitar seems as if it will hold up to years of vigorous play (providing you don't set it on fire...). Any finish will scratch if you are not careful, so that is normal. The strap buttons are solid and reliable. I would not be afraid to use this live with no backup.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Warranty for 2-years. No problems yet.

Overall Rating : 10
I have played for years now, and like this guitar overall. Like I said before, it is best used with tube amps that deliver alot of hard distortion. The cleans sound good, so don't worry. this guitar has plenty of headroom, and will give output where you want it. Pedals and rack effects sound more defined with this guitars pickups. The best thing about this guitar, is that it sounds so big. Turn the tone knobs to 10 and volume knobs to 10 and crank out some seething tones.
