Paul Reed Smith Guitars McCarty Custom with 10 Top

Second year of production1995.A custom ordered PRS McCarty w/a 10 top of honeyburst magnificently quilted 3-d maple and natural maple binding.they did not grade tops on a scale of 1-10 in 1995,but this one rates at least a 15!!!!!This guitar also has abrazilian rosewood fretboard and abalone birds that are real fiery. two nickel covered humbuckers,and a stop tail wraparound bridge with a toggle for switching the pickups. the tone knob pulls up to split the coils but i dont use this feature because i play metal and have no use for single coil pickups.kluson vintage style tuners w/nickel covers and pearloid buttons round out the beautifully finished and satin smooth neck .the guitar is signed by paul reed smith on the back and denotes this guitar as a custom order.it also has schaller strap locks on it (in silver),and an anodized steel jack input cover.the knobs are aged tinted amber speed knobs,the guitar came w/an all leather case and all the hang tags,warranty, (i bought it new/custom ordered directly from the factory)and adjustment tools.

it suits my style great,although i must admit i own 16 other guitars and they are all JACKSON CUSTOM SHOP GUITARS.This guitar is the closest i'll ever come to owning an all vintage old gibson,although this guitar is ALOT BETTER than any gibson ever made .i know ...because i have had em and sold em all.i am using a custom audio electronics 3+all tube preamp made by bradshaw,and a rivera power amp.also a bogner 101-b ecstacy head and 4x12 cabinets loaded w/vintage 30 celestions. the sound of this guitar is full of warmth and character.the effortless feel to the neck is great and the hardware ,construction,and overall workmanship is all top notch.it can get me all the sounds i need and then some.i like-no LOVE all the details and sounds this guitar has. they really got it right w/this one. i have played others but not as nice or refined as this one.

it was set up high when i got it,but i adjusted it to my liking w/no hassle whatsoever. i also intonated it for 9-42 d'adarrios.the pickups had to be adjusted along w/the action but no big deal.the top on this guitar is absolutely STUNNING......REALLY.the 3-d quilt is an unbelievable sight to behold. atop like this is now a 500.00option,and i asked for a quilt but did not expect this one! what a mind blower.it should hold up under all playing forever as long as i take care of it. just like any good guitar.

i would think this guitar will out last me and my wife will pass it on to my son!all the hardware and components are top notch and should last forever.i use it almost every day and play out w/it alot and see no problems at all...although i am careful.
