I got to know through a friend of mine who suggested to try these guitars by Peal Guitar, China. Since it was a direct factory it costed me $150 + $100 shipping + $150 Custom clearance in India.
Sound

It's not the real Martin D-28 but it still captures the tone and feel of it.

Too much of fabrication. All the guitars by Peal are typical chinese quality guitars and cannot beat the craftsmanship and sound quality of American guitars. I have 12 guitars and I admire the American guitars, they play Superb

I had a terrible time with Mr. Kwon who runs this company. I had placed an online order with him in March 2008 through Emails and paid money through Wire transfer. I was promised a time of 60 days (i.e May 2008) to produce the order with shipping to India.
To my surprise after inquiring from Mr. Kwon in April I get to know that he has not even started producing my order because of Factory problems like funds, Quality issues etc etc and he would delay shipping by one month (June-July '08) or so.
He kept on delaying my order till September and finally sent the shipment which i received in October. I received only 5 guitars instead of 6 ordered and out of these 5 I received, 1 was of wrong specification. When I questioned Mr. Kwon He gave the same reply of quality issues, production issue etc for not making the sixth guitar. When I asked for a refund of that guitar (which was a double neck acoustic). He told me that he will try building that guitar again and if he fails then he'll refund. I agreed but to my surprise again, he was unable to make the guitar and promised for a refund within 2 weeks (by November 2008).
Now, when I emailed him after 2 weeks he said that he cannot pay because of limited funds with him and will pay in a months time (December '08). He didn't refund the amount and I asked him again then he said he'll try making payments but not sure by when. It's end of February 2009 and he has not refund the amount and neither indicated a proper time line.

PLEASE BEWARE OF HIM. HE'S A THIEF AND PUT CUSTOMERS IN TROUBLE LIKE THIS. HE SHOULD BE LEGALLY DRAGGED TO COURT AND HIS FACTORY SHOULD BE CLOSED BECAUSE OF FRAUD.

I guess this guitar was made this year, 2006 in South Korea. It has 20 frets before body. Solid Sitka Spruce top. This is an acoustic guitar. The back and sides are ribbon mahogany. The fretboard is rosewood. It has maple binding around the body, neck and headstock. It has the Satin finish. It is a dreadnought style. It has opalescent tuners. It came with a really nice gigbag.

I play bluegrass and it is great for that style. The sound from this guitar is great. I can't wait until it really opens up.

When I got the guitar the action was set low which suited me fine. I haven't found any flaws.

I think this guitar can withstand as much as any other dreadnought, probably more. It seems that everything is well put.

I have been playing guitar for about 50 years now. I have a Fender American Deluxe Strat and an Epiphone Double Neck SG. I must admit that I have not played either of these guitars since I received this D-28. It's addicting. I would replace it with the same guitar, absolutely. The sound is awesome. I was looking at a used Washburn and a new Guild. I have played some Martins. I once owned a 12 string guitar that was made in South Korea. It had a fabulous sound. That's why I considered something from Korea. They have the experience and the price is not outrageous.

2004. Yangja, South Korea. 20 frets. Solid spruce-top. Artec pick-up. ~ volume, bass, middle, treble, & presence. Config.?? Active electronics.
Body: Back & sides: solid (nice & heavy) rosewood!!
Neck: Solid Mahogany.
Fretboard: Rosewood.
Finish: looks transparent but I'm not certain. I sanded the neck off. I hate finish as it tends to slow me down.
Body Style: Dreadnought, cutaway. I replaced the pegs with ones made of brass. Tuners look solid~ goldish. No name.
Neck is "normal" solid mahogany.
Came with a nice black hard-shelled case.

It really suits my style, which is a folk, folk-rock celtic feel. Sort of singer-songwriter stuff. I love the fact that it is heavy and solidly made. I use it with a zoom 5052 guitar pedal. I just sold my amp and am upgrading next week. It has a bright sound, but over time I'm hoping that it mellows out. It should get better with age. It has good natural resonance. It really fits well with my style.
One friend commented that it has a bit of a classical feel.

When I bought it, the action was very low. It was perfect for me. The pick-up is fine. No problem. It is a well-built guitar. I was/am very impressed with it! There no flaws. Built solidly.

I've been using it in gigs and it's been standing up really well to the test of time. I've been using it at gigs without a back-up. Very dependable.
One small problem. Due to the dryness of Korean winters & ondol heating, and other stupid factors, there is a crack in the wood next to the pick-up. I called up the president of the company and he said that the wood used was originally for without a pick-up. Ususally if a pick-up is included, they use a stronger piece of wood around the pick-up. Understandable, yet unexcuseable. Need to get it glued next week. (Got the humidifyer on!)

I've been playing guitar for 28 years. I've got 6 acoustic guitars and have gone through many others over the years. I also play the mandolin. I'm in love with this baby. They're hard to find, but they're really a gold mine! I was lucky to get it on sale at a fantastic price. What a deal! I fell in love with it on the first strum. With all real wood you feel the music resonate on your belly. Awesome sensation!! I really love the sound it makes. To me, it sounds about as good as a Martin D-28. Call me crazy, but this is a nice guitar.
The only thing that I hate is the brown inly around the whole. I hate brown. But that's pretty superficial, really.
BTW, They usually go for much more than what I paid. I guess I'm just a lucky bum!
