2005 dreadnaught acoustic electric with peizo pickup. 4 band eq.
laminated spruce top. Mohogany back and sides. Cutaway with extra partial fret for high picking. truss rod inside soundhole. Rosewood fret board, with beautiful abalone dot markers. Shiny finish. Rosewood compensated bridge. Metal tuners of nice quality. Neck is average width. Included nice Peal gig bag. This is a left handed guitar. It is very difficult to find a cutaway lefty! Peal also came with a truss rod tool. This is a nice guitar. Actually much nicer than I expected for the price. The 4 band eq pickup is worth the price of the guitar. And in lefty its a dream! Guitar imports have them in stock no waiting!!!! Very nice!

The DC-20 is different in that I've never seen a guitar with anybrand with that extra partial fret at the high end of the fretboard. I cant play that high myself but it looks cool! I'm picky when playing acoustics. I owned a Washburn rarewood that was beautiful to look at. But, I hate playing it! I could not put this guitar down. I played and played and played it. Sound is very nice! When I first opened the box the sound was ok. But the next day when I played the sound was expanded and opened up dramatically. It has a nice balanced sound. A tight bass with sparkling highs which I like. I had a 412ce lefty Taylor and the sound is not quite as rich, but Im telling you; its close enough to be amazed! The guitar is a player, I have never owned a acoustic that I enjoy playing so much. Except, I wanted the Grand Concert model and they didnt have them at Christmas, when I ordered this guitar. When they became available I emailed Daniel at Guitar Imports and did some thinking and decided to return it for the SC-40. As much as I love this guitar the Grand Concert size fits me better. The SC-40 is on the way and I will do a review on it as well. The peizo with the 4 band eq is awesome! This guitar has a rich lovely sound plugged in. It simply rocks! My only complaint was some slight, very slight cosmetic issues. Binding had a small patch where the gloss was missing. And when the guitar arrived one of the pastic clips that hold the wires for the pickup was dangling inside the soundhole. A small piece of double stick tape fixed it fine. For the price, you can't beat this acoustic!

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
As I stated before, a few little finishing flaws. I liked this guitar so much that if Daniel hadnt told me the lefty SC-40 was coming I would have kept it. The action was high when I got the guitar. I little twist of the truss rod fix the problem. The rosewood fretboard was dry, I just sprayed some guitar polish on and and its beautiful. The abalone dots are a nice touch. The binding is nice and the wood on the guitar is solid. This is not a solid wood guitar, but I've been playing for over 30 yrs and find the solid top verses laminate not to be a issue. I base a guitar's quailty on sound and playability, not what is and isnt made of. And like I said before, contrary to other opinion; after opening the box and playing and then playing the next day. The guitar improved markedly the next day. It is a very musical instrument no matter that it is a laminate. Fretwire was smooth, tuning pegs are fine. Nut was cut perfectly. High quality hard plastic compensated bridge. Intonation was spot on.

Reliability/Durability : 9
Yes this guitar would stand up to live playing. Its sounds awesome through a amp. The finish is good. No strap buttons. Easy fix. I cant see any problems with dependabilty. The folks at GuitarImports.com are awesome. I have never seen a better return policy!!!! Who else would notice that the guitar had not been sent out when it was suppose to and freely send in 2 day Fed-ex at no charge? Also, I return it for the new Lefy SC-40. They emailed me a UPS label, I walked in UPS and was out in 30 sec. No charge for returns and they are shipping the new one free. Like I said, if the lefty Grand Concert had not become available, I definitely would have kept this DC-20. Its sounds much better than most of the acoustics in the $400.00 to $500.00 range. The Washburn rarewood was $599.00 that I had. Its a solid top and this one blows the Washburn away in playability and sound quality. I cant reccommend Guitar Imports and their guitars more highly. Best dealer I have ever run across. Internet or local. The hardware is fine. We will see, not name brand tuners, but of good quality. I see no issues here unless your stuck on a name brand. Which I am not. I know from experience that the offshore boxes are a steal. American guitar companies should take note. If the American Name Brand legend would fade a little and people would get educated to see that Asian guitars are a bargain and for the most part made better than the American counterparts. Then maybe the American manufactures would get off there dead behinds and start making a quality guitar again, instead of resting on there old reputation. Then maybe it would worth it to buy American. I get more bang for the buck with a lesser name. As far as I'm concerned Gibson and the like will have to earn my respect to get me to pay that kind of money for a product that is so so anymore. I love the imports. There bargains are out there hidden in names like PEAL Guitars!

The BEST in the guitar business! NOBODY else has a return policy like Peal. Or nicer People like Daniel Limberg. They answer your questions promptly. Heck, I'm even paying this guitar out in 3 payments! How cool is that. They have the most liberal return policy on the Planet! It a win, win deal! I took this guitar to a Luthier friend of mind and he was impressed! Wanted to see a catalog. I do wish they had a printed catalog. Free shipping, wonderful warranty. My new SC-40 lefty is on the way, I cant wait! My advice to lefty and rightys. Try a Peal! What have you got to lose! Guitarimports.com are awesome! 5 star company! I cant say enough good stuff about them. Keep up the good work
Guitar Imports! Im a very happy guitar picker! I'd give em 10000 if I could instead of a 10!

Ive been playing since 1970. Ive had Gibsons, Fenders, Taylors, Martins, Ibanez, Washburn and Dean. Many others to numerous to mention. I would have to call Daniel to get another Peal if it was lost or stolen. I would have to apPEAL to the person who stole it to give it back. :> (pun intended) I love the sound, the feel, the look and the playablity of this guitar. It plays great, sounds great and is beautiful to look at. Plays better and sounds better than several brands hundreds dollar more. I looking forward to receiving the SC-40 and like I stated. I would have kept this one except i wanted the other one originally. It was a hard call...I didnt want to part with it...but I new I would be sorry later wondering about the GrandConcert model. So with a saddness in my heart I shipped it back and Im thinking I will be even more delighted with the SC-40 Lefty! I play blues and old rock, fingerstyle. The Peals are great guitars for the money. I cant recommend them enough! The free gig bag was great and the free shipping and service. Excellent all around.
