I have just got the Korean SC Solid Top... What a solid guitar with all of the features I was willing to pay 200 more for in a brand name guitar (Alvarez, Martin, Ovation, Ibanez)... Beautiful in looks, I was a little disappointed in the plastic ring with inlay around the soundhole, but what the heck...

I play 80's rock and needed some acoustic sounds for some of the 80's ballads (Time for me to Fly, Every Rose has its Thorn, etc.). Playing through our band PA and practice with a small Marshall Amp with Digitech pedal. Sounds a little tinny right now, but will replace strings, pins and need to shim low E string (buzzing at 11 thru 14 fret). EQ seems to offer lots of sound variations, more later...

Yes, I have noticed some buzzing on low E at 11 thru 14 fret, but am going to shim upon replacing the strings and pins. Everything else seems perfect, looks (no cracks or scratches), finish (nice and shiny), no complaints on the smaller neck (smaller than my electric Epiphone Les Paul)... Will examine closer upon string and bridge work...

To me, this guitar seems solid as a rock. Tight seams, great binding, good weight, not too heavy or light. My only complaint is no upper strap button, but I'll fix that...

I will be calling the company soon about the low E buzz, but don't feel any great need or worry about the guitar in general... With this warranty I feel pretty happy right now...

I have to say that this guitar is impressive for the low cost. Solid, Sweet sounding, and good looking. I've been playing for about 30 years off and on, singing longer and am happy so far. Lost / replace, Stolen / prosecute... I played Martins, Ovations, Alvarez, and Ibanez before looking at this one and the Alvarez was my favorite. I went with this one because it had more features than all of these for 100 or 200 bucks less. I own an Epiphone Les Paul, Takamine low end Acoustic, and this...

I bought this guitar and kept it for 2 days before I returned it. First off, the guitar is very shallow...not at all an "auditorium" or "concert" size body. Secondly, there was no abalone inlay around the soundhole...what was around the soundhole was a thick plastic ring with fake abalone plastic melted into it. You can't tell from the web pictures that this plastic crap is around the soundhole. Nor can you tell that the body is as shallow as it is.

The sound is very flat and tinny...there is no bass tone whatsoever. It didn't sound much better amplified.

:

The action and finish on the guitar were not bad...no complaints here.

I think that the plastic ring around the soundhole would have caused a buzz due to vibration over time. Overall, the guitar didn't really seem like a real guitar due to the poor sound quality.

The company dragged their feet when it came time for me to request a return authorization. Then they dragged their feet when it came time to credit my refund...I had to call them 4-5 times throughout the return process. They did live up to their "no risk" trial offer...the whole ordeal cost me $0.00 (and a little agravation).

This might be a decent guitar for a young beginner (the small size and low action might aid in the learning process); however, I find it hard to believe that anyone who has played other acoustic guitars would consider this a viable instrument.

Features--This guitar has everything I could ever want...from the Soild top to a really nice sounding EQ! I have owned other guitars but i have not gotten as much bang for the buck as i have with this guitar. The cutaway is cool and looks nice and Peal even added some extra frets over the ovalized sound hole, and it looks cool! I give the features a 10++++++

It sounds perfect. i got the guitar on Monday and it is friday and I have barely put it down. I plugged into my Marshall adn this thing screams! It has a bright, but still pretty full sound and with the black diamond strings it sounds seriously perfect. I also put in brass bridge pins and they seem to help the guitar ring out forever. they were the best $10 I have spent in a long time.Another 10 here too.

When I changed the strings i lowered the action a little more. It came with low action already, but now this baby feels like an electric. I can play for hours on end and it does not even phase me. perfect actoin after 10 mintues of adjustments. 9 here since I tweaked it a little myself.

5 days straight with no problems, but this is not enough time to really tell. By looking at it and the nice finish I am guessing this thing will last forever. I got a killer warranty though just incase it doesnt. definite 10 here so far!

Not sure why some reviewers gave this a 10, not, the bass strings have no volume and a very "tin-ny" sound that usually comes from a pine top. teble strings have a bright sound

Action was not that good, neck is narrower than normal, making it harder to play, had two crack in top that were sprayed over, so they knew of the cracks and just sprayed it anyway. good fit otherwise.

when I took the guitar out of the hardshell case and tuned it,the action was very good. i was very impressed with the way it played.recently I traded in a martin d-18 that I had been playing for over thirty years for a fender stratocaster which I love but I missed the acoustic guitar. I found your offer very tempting. this is my first acoustic electric guitar and so far I love it. thanks

Made in 2003 in Korea, 23 frets, solid spruce top, volume control and 4 band EQ piezo, Mother of pear inlay, Mahogony sides-back-neck, rosewood bridge and fretboard, natural finish, Ivory ABS binding, concert style with cutaway, and sealed tuners. The neck is very playable, not too fat or thin. Included was a tuner and gig bag. Not included is a front button for a strap. No problem, I drilled into the flat area at the base of the neck parallel to the neck at about halfway through the body. Balanced!

I play folk/rock/blues/new country. At 53 I've been playing since 1961. When plugged into an old fender M-80 with celestions I have to set the volume on the clean channel to 1. I also have an 88 anniversary Ovation and the Peal is much more responsive. It could be due to the change in technology since 88. Response seems to be even across the spectrum. Intonation is correct. From crisp highs to dull lows this guitar delivers.

The action on this guitar is set low. In fact possibly a little to low. The bottom E string did not resonate after the 12th fret. I placed a 1/8 X 1/2 inch strip of aluminum foil folded 4 times
in between the piezo and the ivory in the bridge (to maintain surface to surface contact). Result - perfection up to fret #23.

This thing is solid as a tank. It has chrome tuners. Gold always looks bad over time (I also have a 1992 40th aniversary Les Paul with gold hardware). The finish appears to be some type of durable clear polyurethane. I've only had this thing a couple of weeks but it seems very durable. Maybe not, if I keep playing it 3 to 5 hours a day! :>)

Ordered over the net and did not want service or support, just the guitar please. I have set-up or otherwise modified every guitar I have ever had. This one required no more than a few days to size it up and get the feel of it and then a new set of strings along with the foil shim. If you must have someone hold your hand go pay at least twice as much for a box of equal value in a music store and feel comfortable if you can. Rated 5 for who cares.

I have already discussed my profile and other instruments. I would absolutely reorder tomorrow if something happened to this guitar. The size is just right. The body is not so thick that I have to "reach" around it. With the 23rd fret actually over the sound hole the first position is easily reached. I do not wish I had bought another brand accoustic-electric. I can think of no features it lacks. After recently purchasing a Schecter C-1 Elite I decided to search the net for other Korean made guitars with a lot of "bang for the buck." As far as I know Peal guitars are not sold in stores. I'm set for years to come. Look on E-bay for the Paul and the Vation! I do not own or otherwise have financial intrests in guitarimports.com or Peal guitars but wish I did. Maybe they will go public! I will not add my email address since the only one I have is at work and I must work when I am there to afford these toys. I did however squeeze in the review. Other reviews? I will check back periodically.
