The YR-31 I bought was made in Korea and is a slim round-back with a cutaway. The guitar was manufactured in 2004. The neck width is perfect for me since I have small hands. I believe it is 1 11/16ths. The guitar has a blue finish and a black composite back and sides. It came with an Artec Piezo 2-band Equalizer with bass, treble, and volume buttons. It also has a built in tuner, which is really fun to work with. This guitar has great features compared to my old guitar. Other features are 20 Frets and chrome tuners.

I'm learning how to play a guitar more seriously after many years of wanting to learn. I had an old guitar, and comparing the sounds of the two, the YR-31 really has a nice sound to it. I was looking at some of the Celebrity line Ovations based on my friend?s recommendation, but didn?t want to pay too much for a new guitar, which is why I bought the Peal. I have to say I?m pretty happy with the choice. To me, the Peal sounds just as good or better than the Celebrity Line Ovations, and way better than my old guitar.
Action, Fit, & Finish

The YR-31?s finish is nice with no blemishes. I was quite surprised by the craftsmanship, not seeing it before I bought it, I was a little wary, but this is a very nice guitar and is easy for me to play (or try to play).

So far so good, it came with a gig bag, which helps to keep it safe from my kids. I don?t travel with my guitar too much, but I brought it to the beach recently and it still is holding its own.
Customer Support
:No Opinion
I haven't had to deal with customer support at the manufacturer or the retailer. The guitar is built well and is very sturdy.

Although I've had a guitar for 20 years, I just started seriously learning how to play the guitar and this is the best one I?ve ever owned. I really like the tuner and equalizer, which make this guitar fun to show off to my friends who are thinking about buying one. I think for the money, the Peal YR-31 is a great deal.

This was made in Korea in 2004. It's a nice slim (especially for the typical solid body electric player) roundback cutaway with a spruce top, 20 frets, a super sleek satin finished mahogany neck with a rosewood fretboard and, multi-ply body binding and single-ply neck binding, grover style sealed chrome tuners, transparent blue finish and a walnut sound hole mosaic inlay which gives it a sort of Native American vibe IMHO. It has an active Artec piezo pickup system with a 2-band EQ (Bass, Treble, Volume) and a built in chromatic tuner (which works great!). It came with a nice padded gig bag and a strap (Cool!). I'm giving it a 9 because a 4-band EQ probably would have been nicer, but for the price, this was still an absolute steal.

I'm primarily a solid body electric player who plays bluesy fusion music. I was in the market for an acoustic and I wanted a roundback because they're usually a bit slimmer than most other acoustics and they seem to play more like the electrics I'm accustomed to. I played a bunch of Korean made Celebrity line Ovations at the local Guitar Center but they wanted close to $400 for them which I thought was absurd, after all, roundbacks are primarily molded plastic!. I came across www.guitarvalue.com and took a chance with this guitar primarily because of their 30 day money back guarantee as well as the positive ratings I saw here on Harmony Central for the other Peal models. I couldn't be more pleased! Overall, this guitar's tone is very well balanced and the sound is a lot fuller than I ever expected from the slim body. It's at least as good as the far more expensive Ovations I played and totally blows away those cheesy Applauses that were in the same general price range.

The action is great, the finish is crystal clear, and the binding is nice and smooth. The neck is really fast! Kudos to the artisans at the Peal factory!

I don't abuse my instruments but I do tend to play them pretty hard and drag them all around the house and wherever else I go. It's been fine thus far and appears to be plenty dependable.

Haven't dealt with them. Typical lifetime warranty against manufacturer defects plus I had that guitarvalue.com 30 day satisfaction guarantee.

I have been playing for close to 30 years and have owned tons of gear. This is the first roundback I've ever purchased (although I've played a whole bunch over the years) and I'm very, very pleased with it! If it were stolen, I'd immediately either buy another one or maybe even invest in the higher ended solid spruce top Peal YR-70 model for around another $100 (still a lot less than those laminate Korean Ovations) which at guitarvalue.com had a 2-band EQ w/tuner or 4-band EQ option for the same price! The bottom line is, if you're looking for a great deal on a roundback, you can't go wrong with this YR-31, it represents an excellent, excellent value for the money!
