No need in repeating what the other eight people have typed in!!
But, it does have locking tuners (don't know the brand)

For me, this guitar has one of the best tones! At the moment, I play classic rock, blues, southern rock... The band I was in before played heavy metal (we covered anyone from nirvana to godsmack) In other words this guitar has some serious versatility!
I went into the music shop looking for a pedal, pulled this guitar off the wall to check out the pedal... bought both!

Perfect action! I usually play with the pickup selector at the 4th position. Playing heavier songs all the way to 5th. This guitar will stay in tune like a son of a gun! I can take it out of the case and it's still in tune from the last gig or practice!!! BUT!! After a string change or drastic change in temperature look out!!! It's a bitch to tune (because of the floating bridge?) I never have used the tremelo. Once I finally get it back tuned up though, it's a champ!!

I have used this guitar many, many times without a backup. I am not scared to play with this guitar without a backup, but, I do bring one every now and then. I have had this guitar for over 4 years now and I can say that it's very dependable! I have never had any work done to it!

What I love about the detonator ax is the versatility, tone, playablity, and good looks. It's my main guitar that I use and I wouldn't trade it for anything... almost!!

the thing that most caught my mind was the blade like pick up in the middle, see other submissions for details.

This guitar has just what i need, my style is mostly metal but i also like blues and some classical music on the sides, with this guitar i can get the type of tone i want for whatever i want to play. the pick-ups are really hot even hotter than the evolution pickups on the ibanez jem555 steve vai model, i think the five positions of the pick up selector are all with the humbuckers turned on both coils, no coil splitting, i'll have to check it out, but i can get some awsome clean sounds out of it, i was thinking of changing the pick ups for a emg-60 on the neck a emg-81 on the bridge and a emg-SA in the middle but i like the way these pick-ups sound even after the abuse this guitar has taken ( bought it used at a crappy pawn shop , more about this later )

I bought this guitar used, from a pawn shop i ripped off by selling them my acoustic thats only 50 bucks worth for 120, and i paid the difference. the guitar was barely used, it even had most of the plastic covering the factory ships it with, some parts were kind of loose and the neck needed to be tighten along with some of the tuners and it was pretty dirty but after i cleaned it up, and i tightened everything up its was just as good as new ( i think ), the finish is i think made of titanium or some thing this thing is made bullet proof, it only has one scratch on it, it had mostly humidity damage and it wasn't really damage is was just dirty and a bit rusty. the is a little hole in the back i don't know what the heck its for but im gonna ask for a booklet for this guitar at peavey and i asume they will give it to me, i've heard good things about peavey. i give it a seven cause i had to do some work on it

this guitar as i said is practically bullet proof, i would consider giggin without a back up but i would bring all the tools i need to change strings and stuff just in case.

i own an ibanez rg220 which is one of the medium quality guitars from ibanez( medium quality becuase of the crappy pick-ups ibanez puts in them ) and i compared it to this one and they are both pretty even, i got the ibanez with dimarzio pickups they are not so harsh, but they drive an awesome distortion, i was planning to use the ibanez for progressive metal where i need more clarity than crunch to play lead guitar, and use the peavey to drive high power bone crunshing distortion, this guitar is set up just the way i wanted, with high distortion pick-ups and solidly built, the only thing i would change if i had the money to spare would be the pick-ups i would put the combination i mentioned earlier, but its not nessesarry at all.

Not sure when it was made. But it was made in the USA. 24 frets, medium jumbo.Solid alder.HSH configuration,1 volume,1 tone,5 way selector. Maple neck(wide and thin)Dark ass rose wood fretboard.Finish is metallic purple.Body style is like another shadow of a strat.Peavey Floyd licensed trem(double locking)Stock tuners.

I play metal\shred type shit. The stock pickups are rather hot. I plug it into a Peavey Bandit 112.I saturate it as much as possible.Gain to 10,Mid scooped,Low to 10,High to 10.Sounds pretty full and ballsey,Heavy even....Bright too.The middle pickup is a doule coil(looks kinda like a Lawrence 250)It has a spanky quacky tone that is quite sustainy due to the blade magnets. The Neck and Bridge humbuckers Have adjustable pole pieces to customize a tone to your needs. They produce decent artifical harmonics, but not Dimebag worthy.

They guitar was nicely set from the factory.Action was nice and low with no Bzzzzzzzzz!Pickups were set well, but I raised them a touch hotter. The bridge was set up floating,I could bury it in china, and then pull it up about 2 full steps!!Pretty gnarly. The finish had a little insignificant dent in it.Nothing to bitch about.

Yes...It seemed stage worthy,I wouldn't be caught dead without a backup. The Lock nut sort of stripped out after a few sets of strings, but I changed it.One pisser about this guitar is that the licensed tremelo has a bit of slack between the bar and the base plate. And it makes this metallic shudder in the amp if you have it too loose. But it is far from awful

I have been playing for close to four years.I am getting a Dime333 pretty soon.I would not go out and buy another one,but I would beat the shit out of the bastard who stole it and make him swallow his testicles.I liked the way it played, but I detest bolt on necks.Better than a Kramer Or comparable to a Floyd Rose Strat.

Alder Body, with enhance cutaway for upper fret access, 24 fret rosewood on maple neck w/micro tilt adjustment, H-s-H pickups w/5 way strat style switch, locking Peavey Floyd Style Trem, Pearloid pickguard. Stock HB's were four conductor, a split switch for single coil mode would have been nice. Guitar did come with the volume treble bypass cap already instralled, which I thought was a nice touch. Alot of manufacturers don't take time for the little things.

It sounds great fpr a rock and roll axe. Distorted sounds were good, but I replaced the two HB's with dimarzio's and now thet're better. Clean sounds also improved with the dimarzio's. I'll rate it an 8 for the stock pickups, but with the dimarzio's it's more like a 9.

Action is great. As good as on a Carvin I used to own. I can't find any flaws with the finish. No flaws that I can detect. I'll detract a point as a can see a gap here and there. Still looks great, but no perfect I guess.

Very Dependable. Standard pitfalls of amny floyd. If you break a string, you're hosed as far as tuning goes. The Floyd is one of the better vquality non original ones that I've seen. Seems very solid and beefy.

I've been playing 20 plus years. Short of a wolfgang, this plays and sounds as good as any Floyd equipped guitar I've ever tried. It's a killer axe. I'm very surprised you don't see more of them around. I purchased this because it was at a good price for a quality american made axe, and I was in the market for a floyd guitar.

About a 94'. Made in the USA. 24 frets. 1 vol, 1 tone, 5-way selector. Humbucker at bridge, double rail at mid, humbucker at neck. Generic. Black flake finish. Mother of pearl pickguard. Floyd Rose locking tremolo. Schaller tuners. Thin scale neck. "scooped" neck joint(for reaching highest frets.)Bolt-on.

All around good sound. Quiet pickups with high output. Very versatile Great for clean, better for high gain leads. Good for different styles, but not everything.

Action and intonation needed a bit of work, but was worth it. Over-complicated floyd rose was a bitch to set up, btu played like a dream when you got there. Beat the hell out of it, always in tune. No finish flaws, great hardware, good wood, smooth frets. Unlaminated neck played super smooth, but not too slick.

One main bitch. The bridge pickup needed to be rewired. Sometimes it cut out, other times halfway out. Probably just a factory flaw. Otherwise very reliable. Good finish. Solid strap buttons, but I installed straplocks. Very solid hardware, all tight. Might need a backup if some tiny little technical thing went out, but probably wouldn't happen.
