China Pearl, 5 way switch w/ 2 buckers and piezzo - etc. etc. Mine is butterscotch

Sound : 10
I just have to say that for the price range these are in they are incredible. I just strum that acoustic and it keeps on going. Pretty brite sometimes - an EQ of some type, or running through an amp as opposed to direct to board is sometimes helpful. But it is very very nice. Sounds like a Taylor? Not hardly, but we are talking about a Tele that you can just start strumming and... the tingles start creeping up your back as you finger a few acoustic notes. It's really nice.
The humbuckers venture closer to single coils at times than most buckers do - body makup probably. They are pretty good - far above average for a guitar in this category. The 5 way switch has a lot of variation in the sound. Heavy distortion? Sometimes it sounds better than my Gibson SG. Country twang? Hit that bridge and mix just a slight bit of the acoustic in - heaven.

The pickups don't match my best heavy guitars for pure LP Type smooth tone. But they do the job descently and sound good in lots of situations.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 8
It's not an expensive guitar - came with one knob loose which was a no brainer fix. Mine barely comes into intonation on the bridge - almost too close to the neck. Finish is fine and the butterscotch looks good.
Neck is very nice - no buzzes, snooth, beggs to be played. I wouldn't set it super low, simply because of the strumming you might find yourself doing in acoustic mode.
Doesn't come set up. It is not a light guitar - helps the tone I would think.

Reliability/Durability : No Opinion
No problems so far. Don't expect any factory service of any kind. There are electronics - so that means they can fail.

Customer Support : No Opinion

Stolen? I would just whip out the back up version I am about to buy in another color. Honestly, I could gig forever with only this guitar if I had to - and I wouldn't cry a bit.
The overall look of the guitar is something I do enjoy. The headstock, the little curly q up at the very top, it's just a little something but it's nice. The pickguard has a kind of western feel to it that is appropriate for tele.
Buy it while you can.

Made 2008 in China. Has the ACM piezo embedded in the Graphtech saddles. Strung through body. Solid Alder with clear natural finish, maple one piece neck, and reosewood fingerboard. Has black bindings on body and black headstock. Has two humbuckers with coil tapping and 5-way swich, vol, tone controls for magnetic pups, and a volume control for the piezo. Hardtail bridge. 3 way switch for magnetic/magnetic-piezo/piezo combinations. You can also blend as much piezo you want simply by dialing it in. Three ply black pickguard. No case, or else i'd give it a ten here.

Sound : 9
The humbuckers are ok, untill you crank it, then then you need to dial back the tone a tad to get rid of the ice-pick-in-your-ears sound. Otherwise, they sound good, about like a good Epiphone, but not on par with Gibson buckers, way better than you would expect for a two hundred dollar guitar. The piezo blew me away. I have a small Fender Super Champ XD with the acoustic sim. I switched on the piezo by itself, played for about an hour, then realized I still had the blackface channel on the amp! That's how good this piezo is. The 5 way switch takes some bite off the pups as you would expect and does not add much hum when tappped. Overall a very good sounding ax with almost any combination of heavy to acosutic tones you can imagine. It has incredible sustain for such a cheap guitar and sounds great with my TS-808, and the built-in distortion on my amps. Not excatly a perfect match for my Vibroverb, but well suited where volume is not an issue. I would give it a 10 if it had Gibson Burstbucker Pros, which I may add later. For now I will enjoy this setup.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
I do not have any fret buzz or intonation problems. All I had to do is lower the pups, that's it! Action is good for a low priced guitar, in fact it's great! Frets are very smooth, I could swear they have been rolled and polished, but I know a guitar made in China would not have that level of detail. The body is flawless, just some excess polish. I can't find a knot anywhere in the wood, Alder is not supposed to anyway. Beutiful light wood tone, neck is playable all the way up and very smooth. Frets are rather smallish. Now I will give it a 10 because I did not have to do much set-up.

Reliability/Durability : 9
I use this as a backup, and people are floored when they hear the acoustic-like tone coming through a Deluxe Reverb. Cheap electronics, neck is bolted on with 5 bolts, kinda odd, but has no effect on the tone. The tone is so good but the neck is too thin for me to play any length of time, my hands get fatigued.

I have never dealt with Peavey, this is my first guitar from them, but I have owned two tube amps and they were built rock solid.

Overall Rating : 10
Been playing 25 years. I have owned 50+ guitars. A dozen strats and Les Pauls, a few Taylors and PRS models. This is a great buy right now at Musicans Friend for two hundred dollars. I have another piezo-eqiupped guitar that cost 5 times as much, and this sounds better acoustically. The humbuckers are a little to bright for me. Humbuckers on alder is not a good combination. This guitar is worth 3 times what I paid, so I ordered two more! The others are black and white. I played an Epiphone Ultra II about 3 times now, just to make sure I compared them with each other. The Peavey beat the living crap out of the Epiphone and sebt it home with a bloddy nose! The Epiphone costs $700 and is extremely heavy, and you must turn the guitar over to reach the tiny knobs which are not notched to see the settings. All the more reason I ordered two more Peaveys. I still have enough money left over for a pedal! I removed one of my other guitars from it's case and gave it to the Peavey. A standard les Paul case will fit, although the guitar is shaped like a Tele.
