This is the best looking all mahogany guitar I owned in my life. I have owned about all you can imagine. The finish, quality of wood and hardware is top notch. These are really underrated. I sold two PRS since I own this one and bought two other Peavey. Mine was built in 2006 and seems to be better looking than the new ones.

This is a great sounding guitar. I like especially the bridge pickup. What attracted me to this guitar is the TWO Volume knobs. You can get about any type of sound from this guitar. The only thing I will do is to get a Neck pickup I can Split.

Best bang for the buck. The guitar is very balanced. I am used to Stratocasters and when swithching to short scale and PRS there is always something bothering me in term of comfort. Not with this one. The perfect Humbuckers equipped guitar. I am already looking to buy an other one as nice.

Made in 2007 in Meridian, MS. It is a Sunburst finish and appears to have a solid slab of mahogany for the body. Set Mahogany neck with 24 frets, and rosewood fretboard. The neck profile and body fit is the best I have ever played! It allows for you to use all the frets with ease. Schaller tuners. 24.5 scale. 9-42 strings. Alnico PU's, according to Peavey's CS dept.

I have owned many guitars and this compares to a PRS and LP with regards to sound. It is very warm, even with light strings, yet heavy sounding. The output is about a medium I'd say. It fits me perfectly!

Mine is a blemished model. That is what I was told and why I paid a great price. The only blemish I could find is the where the rosewood fretboard meets the neck. There is some extra glue to fill a small gap that wasn't sanded evenly. Other than that, this model is flawless!

Everything is as good as it gets. This should last a lifetime. It's built as good as any guitar made today.

I have played for over 20 years and have owned many, many guitars. Gibson, Fender, PRS, Washburn, etc. I bought this guitar because I love the body design. The neck fit alone is worth every penny! I must applaud Mr. Peavey for the updated design. It really makes a Les Paul feel like a piece of furniture and outdated IMO. Don't be fooled into thinking that this guitar isn't built as good as a Gibson or PRS though; it is! The body and neck is CNC cut/routed, frets put in by a machine and the rest is put together by hand. I would pay the $1200 asking price, although I didn't because it was a blemish model at the store.

Peavey humbuckers are really nice with good output. I don't go for hi-output p/ups so these are just what I want. I play in a praise & worship band doing Travis Cottrell, Hillsong, Chris Tomlin, Paul Baloche, Israel & New Breed, Lincoln Brewster, etc. Humbuckers are quiet. I run direct w/Tri AC for my "amp" & a TC Electronics Gmajor for effects. It suits what I do fine. I don't expect it to do Strat sounds with a mahogany body, 24-3/4" scale double humbucker config! No surprises here. I just got the gtr so I'll do a follow up later. This is a "first impression" review.

Factory setup is good & on the low side with a little relief higher up on the fingerboard. I'll be setting the neck for less relief in it as I like my setup pretty straight up & down the fingerboard. Pickups are not raised all the way up which is good. I'll be adjusting these as I get more familiar with what it does. As they came, the height is fine. Mine is a two piece back with a two piece top. It is really nice. The trans-red finish looks very thick & "candy" like. A great finish that shows the grain really well. The Schaller tuners are great & the volume/tone controls work with a great feel. Hardware is good stuff, too. Peavey builds a guitar as good as anyone. No more PRS for me.

I think this will stand up to live playing quite well. It'll be put into service this Sunday. It will be my main gtr. With it's light weight it'll be a pleasure to play on stage after hoisting a 9+ lb McCarty. I will gig without a backup. Finish looks durable; time will tell.

Peavey service is great. I have dealt with them, through dealers & calling them myself. No problems ever, in my experience. Peavey service was one of the main reasons I got this gtr. It was a major contributing factor.

I've been playing over 30 years. I own a PRS McCarty which will be sold soon. I'm acquiring other Peavey strat-style guitars for alternates/backups. If lost or stolen I'd replace it with the same thing. There's nothing on the gtr that I dislike. It doesn't disappoint me at all. I'm very relieved to finally get something that feels this good when I play it. It simply works & I really like it. And the fact that it doesn't say PRS on the headstock brings me great joy. Why? Because Peavey makes guitars as good as PRS but gets blasted for fmany obscure reasons. I've decided to stop contributing to "headstock envy". I've been wanting one of these HP Signature Select guitars for a couple of years & I finally got one. My hope is that kids & other players that see me play in church will be attracted to Peavey guitars & I can share my experience with them. They'll see & hear mine in action week after week, spreading the Peavey word & spreading The Word. That fires me up.
