What a gem! Beauty mahogany set neck & body. Nice maple cap, not too fancy, but looks damn good, sounds fab. Quality hardware, unbelievable "3D" neck inlay, eack inlay made from 3 pieces of Mother of Pearl. Really great craftmanship. Probably the best that Peavey ever produced!

What can I say, this guitar is way fine. Beautiful to play, the neck is full and plays like butter. The pickup selections go from a delicious single coil sound that puts most strats to shame. The humbuckers can produce a sweet jazz tone or a completely rockin' full on crunch & sizzling wail. No need to change the pickups on this baby. This is a PRS with Peavey's name on the headstock.

I have to say that there have been very few Peavey products that I have been impressed with. This certainly is an exception. I can't find anything not to like about this guitar! Quality USA workmanship throughout, I have played many PRS's that don't have the vibe of this guitar.

I can't forsee any problems with this Peavey wonder. I think that Peavey has a decent rep, their website even has a downloadable manual for this model!

I have been playing professionally 25 years, live & studio. I was looking for a PRS type guitar and had been trying PRS's, Dillions etc. This Impact Torino took the cake.
Shoot, one friend of mine payed twice as much for his bolt on PRS, another buddy has the top of the line PRS custom and frankly neither of us could find much to substantiate the massive price difference. Not to dis the PRS guys, they make fine guitars.
I can't get over how versitile and excellent this guitar sounds.
Bravo Peavey! (I never thought I would say that!)

The Peavey Impact I models were made in 1993-94. These guitars have a set neck, not bolt on or neck thru. The I means this model is a hard tail, the II is a trem style. It is made in our good Ole USA down in the Delta of Mississippi. What a great guitar this is, made from solid mahogany including it's neck with a pair of tremendous sounding stock humbuckers, beautiful sounds via a 5 way selector. The rosewood 15 inch radius fingerboard has 24 medium frets on a 25 inch scale topped by a Graphlon nut and Shaller 3x3 locking tuners. The strat styled body is contoured for rib and forearm clearance, making for a comfy guitar to play. Its color is called a mahogany burst that lets the wood grains show thru. The pickups are passive high output Alnico magnet loaded hummers controlled by one master volume and one tone control. The chrome bridge is an adjustable fixed Gotoh with chrome tailpiece assembly, similiar to Gibson's Tune-O-Matic. This set up is one of the best for tone in my books for a hardtail. Frets are medium jumbos. This gem came with it's original Peavey hardcase.

This suits my music style perfectly as it sports a pair of the best wound stock humbuckers Peavey has ever made. I use either my Peavey 2x12 Ranger or Traynor 4x10 amps and this guitar has a wide variety of great sounds with it's 5 clicks, going from a thin but not brittle single coil sound to a rich and full bass thumping version of Duane Eddy. I use Everly Nickle Rockers (09-42) only on this guitar, which give this solid mahogany guitar a menu of sounds that'll run the gamut for any sound or any music chosen. The amps, strings and guitar compliment themselves to a T, I couldn't improve this sound any with custom wound pickups. All switching is graveyard quiet. I am perfectly one happy player with this great guitar. I also own an Impact II with the trem, also a great guitar yet I prefer the hardtails. No dislikes at all here, great job by Peavey.

I bought this used from Freedom Guitar in San Diego, Calif and when it arrived I wasn't pleased at all with it's intonation. I called Matt and Dewey at Freedom Guitar to tell them something is very wrong with it's tone. They suggested that I take this guitar to a professional setup man and we'd split the repair bill which we did. All of the saddles on the Gotoh bridge were installed from the factory backwards, once the was corrected the guitar tuned and intonated beautifully. I would not sell this guitar for any amount of money now, what a tremendous find and I thank Freedom Guitar for packing it well as it arrived here in the midwest in great condition via FedEx ground. Everything else on the guitar was perfect, just the intonation snag.

This gem will be playing in the next century I can almost guarantee that. Hardware and finish is top notch, I've already installed strap locks and yes, I'll depend on this Impact to gig without a backup any day and any place. Super well made plus a collector's item on top of it all. What a find!!

Peavey people are the greatest to deal with, that is why I play only Peavey guitars. Repairs are not necessary at all unless the bridge saddles are in backwards. Apparently this guitar was never set up right from day one, and I am one thankful guy because this guitar has a lot of fret wear left appearing that it was never played. Maybe the saddles were the reason??? This is all my gain and I'll take it gladly. Original factory warranty was 1 year but it's a Peavey product. Built to last and sound great!!

I've been playing guitars since the late 40's, have owned or played them all practically. I own 8 other Peavey guitars, 1 Peavey amp and 3 Traynor amps and that makes up my taste is music. I play older ballads, think Sleep Walk to Guitar Boogie Shuffle with a lot of Rock-a-Billy think Johnny Cash thrown in. I grew up with this great music and never out grew it. If this guitar was stolen, it would be impossible to find another. These were only made in 1993-94 designed by J. DeCola at Peavey (I think) and Impacts are not very plentyful at all. Yes, I would like to own another 1 or 2 but try and find them. These Impacts outdoes Les Pauls and PRS guitars but at a fraction of cost. I do wish the Peavey people had bound the peghead and body, they bound the neck only, which did perk the appearance up but a full binding job would really look great and rich. This guitar is great enough to warrant full bindings, placing it right up there with the Gibbies, Gretsches, etc. It already is up there with them in sounds and play ability. Nice job Peavey and JDC.
