Lots of tones available thanks to the S/S/H configuration. Excellent quality. I've run this through big and small tube amps as well as new digital modeling amps. Love it. Bright and clear for all clean playing. Overdrive ??? tweaking is a must. It's a bit crisp but dialing in takes time. Upgrade to "real" Duncans or even Fralins will solve any tone issues on the overdrive end. However, one of the best clean tone vintage sounds out there.

I did the set up. It's perfect because I know what I like. Adjusting the action and intonation was no problem. This is a bolt neck. The pocket could be tighter but for it's age you have to consider a robot never touched this guitar. Therefore, hand work was required back in the day. It's actually nice to see character flaws with any older model axe.

Rock solid. Will endure evil to evangelical and all that's in between.

Peavey still continues to offer support, advice and general help. I'm sure there are some horror stories but I can put too much burden on Peavey for a 20+ year old guitar.

All vintage guitars eventually reach a premium collectibility level. This one is not there yet. Maybe if there's more reviews available it would increase its value. I really don't care anyway. Unfortunately, this site contains lots of bogus reviews... especially for new products. You can tell most of the time when someone is bullshitting you just to make a buck.
Who cares what gear I have. I'm not better than you if I have tons of nice gear. I'm sure you have your own style. And hopefully, that style will sound good playing any guitar thru any amp.
Honest reviews still exist. This is a great guitar for the price... and my paid price is honest. If you pay too much for something, sometimes you wind up convincing yourself that it's better than what it is.
If you find one of these hiding at a pawn shop for a couple hundred, buy it.
