This guitar was made in 1994 listing for $999.99 with case. It's body and set neck are solid mahogany. Set neck, not neck thru. Rosewood 15" radius fingerboard with 24 medium jumbo frets on an interesting 25" scale. The 3-D Mother of Pearl inlays are attractive and unique having not seen anything like this. Quite of an attractive addition. Schaller(?) locking tuners (six-in-line) and Powerbend III Trem are chromed. Graphlon non locking nut with 2 high output Alnico passive hummers switched by a 5 way selector switch and controlled by 1 volume and 1 tone knob. A good solid made in USA guitar. Double cut away strat style body with contour relief on the back side. A treat to play and wear. Medium weight mahogany body with a maple cap has what it takes for excellent sound.
Sound

I play only older pop, country, rock-n-roll or rock-a-billy and this guitar can belt on my type of music with ease and sound. Anywhere from older Country think Chet to Duane Eddy to Les Paul sounds. Neither strat or tele sound, it has it's own sound. All pick-up selections are quiet with a huge variety or sounds coming from the 5 clicks on the selctor switch, each click is much different from the other. Thin single coil sound goes to full bass thumping on dual hum select. I'm sure that you can find your music somewhere within these 5 clicks. I play thru a Peavey Ranger 212 and a Traynor 4x10, both tube amps with a variety of tone color settings. These twin buckers are the best stock humbuckers I've heard even bettering the Les Paul sound, the Torino has more definition and distinction. Great sustain with character. Roll back the tone knob for more tone variations. Un-limited sounds. great job Peavey!!
Action, Fit, & Finish

Action is typical Peavey great. Meaning low action with a straight neck (.008") at 8th fret gives great fingering and sound. So far I've not seen any flaws or any signs of poor workmanship or cheesy hardware. Top notch thru out. Again, typical of Peavey. I'm sure Peavey has had a few duds but I've only read of them, never have seen one. I play nothing but Peavey guitars and consider them to be the best dollar value out there bar none. If this guitar had a Gibson or Fender decal on it, the price would be $3,000 plus suggested retail. Finished in a beautiful cherryburst with a figured maple cap sets off things. Powerbend III fulcrum holds tune great with it's 3 springs. By the way, this model is called the Impact Torino II meaning it has the Powerbend Trem system. The Impact Torino I is the same guitar but with an adjustable fixed bridge and tailpiece. Think Gibson. Both Impact Torino models are set necks, tho. These particular models were only made in the early 90's and seem very rare. Very hard to find!!

Yes, 100% all the way here. I don't gig anymore but would trust this completely. Finish is great and professional, plenty rugged to get the job done and it'll withstand any reasonable abuse handed to it. I don't think that I'd gig with this guitar, afraid it might disappear or get damaged.

The Peavey people are the best in the business for backing their product. If I ever have any trouble that goes beyond my ability to repair or set-up, it'll go back to the factory whether in warranty or out of warranty. I have this much faith in Peavey products. Original warranty was 1 year.

I've started playing when I was 10 years old and have just retired, so we're talking 55 years of guitar playing. This particluar guitar would be impossible to replace. You just don't find a mint 1994 guitar in 2002 every day. I would like to someday find an Impact Torino I with a fixed bidge. I know where there is a few but getting their owner to sell them is another question. He is the person responsible for for opening my eyes to this model, he bragged his up something fierce until I had to try one. He was serious about their being a great guitar. Thanks Carl. Hey, by the way, you know more than I know about these Torinos, how about adding your imput.
