I believe this was made last year, 2005. These came from the Peavey custom shop and are increasingly becoming harder to find. It's ok since I got mine. It has two Peavey made Humbuckers. They are very quiet though so good news there. Also has 2 volume and one tone control with a Les Paul type 3-way toggle switch for pickups. Mine has the gloss black finish with Ebony fretboard and real Whiskey Barrel trussrod cover. The volume and tone nobs have "Old Lucky 7" embossed on them as well. It is a single cutaway style guitar like the famous Gibby Les Paul.

Sound : 10
I have been playing for 17 years and adhere to Punk and most upbeat rock playing. I deviate very little. Sometiems I throw a little lounge jazz in to break it up but...this guitar almost threw me off at the store. Looked like a ridgerunners dream. The hillbilles Les Paul I suppose. But, after playing it a few times at the music store I work at, I came to love the instrument for the sound I could get out of it. It has a very, very warm tonal quality to it. The bridge pickup is pretty good but the neck pickup actually sounds better for most applications. This says a lot since I have only used my neck pickup a handful of times in the 17 years I have played. The body is nice and thick so the sound resonating from it is hugemungous. Very thick. I liken it to a Les Paul Studio mixed with a Fender Tele type of sound but nothing like either. Well, prolly more like the LP than anything else but not quite. The greatest thign about the pickups is the absence of ALL noise. Now, I am an avid Peavey-Hater but this really turned my prejudice around. Maybe I wasn't playing the right peaveys.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
The neck is very fast. I love the finish. I was goinf to buy the newest Les Paul Special but decided on this one. I fell in love with the LP because the action was so beautiful but was pretty convinced with a little tweaking of the bridge on this, I could get the same thing. I did exactly that. This thing sounds AMAZING. Very easy to play. I did also raise the pickups a fraction of a turn but this is just my preference so no worries here. Stock, everythign is great. Play around with things a little and you have the best value for the money available.

Reliability/Durability : 9
It is a very well made instrument. I did buy it with a little nick on the bridge pickup cover but no biggie. It seems solid as a rock but I've only owned it for a few days so will have to withold judgment for now. I am pretty sure I could gig with this without any real serious issues involved.

For a decent alternative to an LP, I would give this a try. This guitar isn't for everyone but I think Peaveys Custom shop tried to make it as widely accessible as they could for just about all styles of music. Wouldn't do Jazz but this thing could burn a "blues" club stage right down. Probably the warmest sounding guitar I've ever owned. I have owned a few such as Schecter C1, Gibson Invader, Ibanez SZ520, etc. Not a fender guy so don't ask. I would have appreciated a less "T-Shirt ad" kind of finsih however I do like the Jack Daniels stuff on it.
