i dont know what year it was made, probably 2000-2001. made in vietnam but dont seem to ruin it much. 24 frets i think (i dont normally go that far up) its a nice finish on it. although sometimes the selector is a little dodgy but its good to go. tuners a little rubbish but easily repelaced. pickups work well but i would have preferred flat instead of staggered. good neck, frets buzz a little too but its only noticeable at a loud volume. it came with a case, nylon strap, and tremelo.
Sound
:

i play anything from punk to metal, bit or rock n roll and it copes rather well id say. it has a good sound, sometimes a little twangy but nothing to worry bout. its definately bright. i like the bridge pick up, i find it great for offspring.

it was set up expertly from the factory and sounded great just out of the box. ive adjusted the pickups but fora starter they are good. a really good black paint job.

ive been playing 2 years and its worked really well for me in that time, i have a dodgy old acoustic and it wins to that hands down. if it was stolen id get something else but thats jus life. i love it cos its my first electric. my mate has a yamaha pacifica and i prefer mine to his and he payed #185.

What the other kids said. Most likely Korean/Taiwanese/Vietnamese/whatever produced guitar, just a simple strat copy. It has a nice, playable neck, great finish (the asians are good on finishes) the rest is explained by the other reviews here. Very nice beginner.
Sound
:

Typical strat sound, nothing new. Good for grunge like nirvana & pearl jam. The pickups aren't all that, but passable. I dont like the volume levels on it sometimes and it doesnt handle the sound well when on high gain & distortion. Clear sound is nice however, especially the middle pickup excels. The buzz is just nothing but horrible. the strings buzz like a bumblebee, especially the lower strings.

everything plays well and average, the action is pretty low and very good actually. pickups were A-OK, no problems. the but and tuners hoiwever had some flaws, the nut making the strings ring a lot and the tuners having a damn hard time keeping the strings in tune. they were loose to tune as well.
The finish is magnificent, and stays to this day, even though ive had this bugger for 3 years. the asians really have a thing for finishes.

Lasts like a mofo, its solid and well crafted in that matter. the strap screws areloose, and i had to get new ones after a few months just cause they kept slipping off, so did the strap itself.

Overall, its a very presentable beginner electric, for those kids who want to take it one step further. The neck is great and playable as an ibanez, which is imperative in a beginner. Its not too much to keep though, and after 2 years you might as well sell it to someone else to enjoy and get a new, better one to move up to the intermediate stuff. Otherwise its a really cheap, usable and an allround usable axe.

This guitar was made in japan in 2000(I think)
Its a pretty basic guitar but still its a good all-rounder.
Basic strat body style, has a maple neck with rose wood finger bord and a satin body finish.
5 way selecter, volume and tone controls.
Great for $250 Aus Dollars.

This guitar suits alot of different music styles from stuff like hendrix to heavy metal.
You can make some great sounds with this baby, not to much variety though.
I've never had any dislikes for this guitar, it's great for a beginners guitar

Guitar was in intonation, pick-ups where at a good height there weren't any flaws in the wood although the neck finish could be a bit smoother.

This guitar has been realiable for me it was my first guitar and played my first gig with it.
Had it for 5 years now still seems to have a good finish, the strap buttons havent come out.
I feel i can depened on this guitar, ive played at many gigs with out back-ups, but now I use it as a back-up.

I've been playing for 5 years now and moved on from my peavey to a pacifica 604w which is also great value for a more intermediate guitarist and should be considered.
I have a strong feeling that ill keep it for life, and if it where stolen i would defiantly consider a new one.
This guitar is a great beginners guitar great things can be achieved with it.
There's no doubt about it this is really great value and im surprised it hasn't got a more expensive price tag on it.

I think it was made 2001, 21 fres, white, three S/S/S, 5-way switch, Vietnam production. Solid top, i guess you know what we're talking about ... No fancy things, just basics.

You know, i bought it for 100 Euro new in a store. I have gear like fender strat, gibson les paul, jackson an i find myself sometimes (yeah, often) playing this small cheapy peavey. It sounds OK. No wonders, just a brave Strat sound. Don't expect the fulminants. It is OK, it sounds good. Clear, sparkling, some twang, everything is there. No miracles, just solid solid work. The most important thing for me is - it has a gibson scale, not fender, and as i am primarily gibson player, i don't have to switch to another , u know, frets distances, so on. I play like it was my les paul's neck, what comes out is Strat sound. (OK, there are differences - the peavey has a flat neck <<which is very very nice!>>).
Yes, indeed - thin neck, not wide, flat. Good

Very good. I'm pretty strong guy with full power and able to pull 1/2 up on, say Epiphone just by holding the neck to tight. This won't happen with this one, albeit you wouldn't expect it just by watching. It looks small, fragile. It is not. Very solidly built. Nice finish, very clean. I gonna give it a 10. At this price, it's unbelivable.

i' ve been playing for 15 years, rock, metal, blues.
If it were stolen i would try another one (i mean from these peaveys) and buy it.
My favourite feature is - u play the gibson "mensure" on a strat.
That's wonderful.

Probably made 2001, in Vietnam, 21 frets, solid top, 1 volume, 1 tone, 5 way selector switch. Just he ones that came with it on the pickups, presume its Peavey's own. Passive electronics, i dont wanna pay for batteries!Maple neck, Rosewood fingerboard. I got a bag, 10ft cabel, and strap with it.
Sound
:
9
ITs a good sound. Nothing really wrong with it. I'd get the frets done if i were you, cos it buzzes a bit. I've nopt got a great amp so its hard to REALLY tell. it can make some good sounds. It can nail the offspring sounds, through to jimi hendrix style. I like it.

I got it all set up nice and pretty!everything was ready straight out the box! ITs really good set-up.

The strings lasted 3 months before one broke, pretty good considering i paly quite hard and often. feels like it was built to last. the fingerboard fades where u play more, but i like it so i don't mind. Strap tends to come off a little more than i would like. i can depend on it. always works. but ive not done a gig yet!

It doesn't have a lot of features, its more of an beginner guitar. Three single coil pickups, no humbuckes. What i like about it is that it has a nice neck adjustment design. Instead of having to use a certain sized allen rench to adjust it you juist use a little metal rod to turn this little wheel at the bottom of the fret board not the top. It has a rose wood neck that is pretty good, not the best. Overall for a beginner guitar it's pretty good.
Sound

This guitar sounds a lot like a strat. At first it was a little noisy and had some feedback, but i tweaked it a little and it doesn't seem to bother me anymore. It has a very nice sound. I have a multieffects pedal and it sounds good on most of the effects on the pedal. It has a good sound overall.

When I got it was fine, except the neck was adjusted a little high, but that is the place i bought it fault. Everything else is fine. The paint held up great. I bang my guitar into everything and i don't even have a scratch on it.

I wouldn't see why this guitar wouldn't be great for live preformence. Very reliable. The strap buttons were fine, but i reaplaced them with snap on strap hooks for safety because my guitar kept slipping off the strap.

The guitar is great for a beginner. I am now looking into buying a new one that has a little more features. Once you get better at playing you won't want to use this guitar anyomore, but if you are just starting out it's a great deal.

This guitar was made in 2000, Taiwan as I recall, but I could be wrong. Truth be told, I don't know much about what it's made of, but whatever it is, it works.
21 fret neck (maple?). The finish on the neck feels wierd, but I have grown to like it. The neck is one of the guitar's best features. It's pretty thin and just feels right.
There are three single coil pickups, a five way selector, and pots for volume and tone. There is a plain old tremolo on it, but I have never used it. The tuners are well made for a guitar this cheap.
The body is double cutaway, but rather different than anything else out there. Peavey is good at that. There really is not much to this guitar, but that can be a good thing.

I would not recomend this guitar for metal. It just won't do the right sound. For anything else (jazz, surf, alternative...), it does fine. I mostly play stuff like U2, Sixpence NTR, King's X, and Room Full of Walters on it.
This guitar's best sound is a clean one. It is absolutely beautiful on the clean channel. Just gorgeous.
The rear pickup is twangy and jangly at any tone setting and I plan to replace it. The rest will likely stay. I really like the middle pickup and I use it more than the other two. Note that when two pickups ar on, they hum-cancel. Also not that the pickups are fairly quiet by themselves. As long as I don't get near a CRT, the are almost silent.

Factory setup was perfect (Unlike the Steinbeger GT I traded for the Peavey), action low...it was perfect.
The finish is nothing special, but it looks neat and there are no flaws in it (Again, unlike the Steinberger GT I had).
If I seem disillusioned with a ceratin guitar here, I was. This new one is SO much better.

I have not played it at any gigs yet, but I will soon. This thing seems to be pretty tough and I have no doubts about it at all. The strap buttons are HUGE. It took some work to get the strap on and unless I try, it ain't coming off. I have had no problems in the two months I've had it.

I've been playing for over three years now. I play through a Fender Automatic GT but I need a bigger amp soon.
If this guitar was stolen, I would replace it ASAP and beat the SOB who took it. The neck and action are what sold me on it. I was looking to ditch my Steinberger and looked at other low-end stuff from Yamaha (I almost bought the Pacifica 112), Ibanez (blah), Epiphone (50/50), and Squier/Fender (yuck).
I plan on replacing the bridge pickup with a Seymore Duncan Hot Rails. I may replace the rest with Duncan or Fender Lace units.

my set up is the peavey-ibanez phasor-ds1-crate gx15r. has really nice clean sound. my playin style is a kinda punk/indurstrial mix and this guitar does not always work in distortion. the bridge pickup is not connected to the tone knob so it is always really bright. and the rest of the pickup positions sometimes dont sound bright enough. the tremelo does a good job.
