1982 USA made dual humbuckers, with 2 volume and 2 tone controls that act as a single/humbucking coil split. Turn the tone knobs to 10 and and you have a single coil pickup, the dual coil kicks in at 7. Dual cutaway, tobacco sunburst. Hardtail bridge, standard tuners, maple neck, and 21 frets. Hardshell case that would withstand a nuclear blast. Very heavey guitar, made out of Ash.

For blues and classic rock this thing is great! I use a Peavey Classic Chorus 212, and no other effects. You can get a single coil tele sound, or a real crunchy Les Paul sound. Pickups are warm. I love this guitar!

Action, and intonation was good for a guitar sitting in the case since 1985. Finish was good, with few scratches. Bridge had some oxidation on it, but was fine.

I've been playing for 18 years, and I always hated the T-60; until I played one. This guitar has the weight of a Les Paul, with the vintage feel of a 60's strat. Stays in tune very well, and is the most versatile instrument I've ever own. This one will be buried with me!!

Very versatile, tons of very good sounds !
Using it with Fender Silverface Vibro Champ, Dynacord Eminent II, Echolette M70 and Zoom Fire 7010.
The T-60 sounds great on all of them !
Playin 70th Rock and Celtic Folk Rock (Breton). It fits all my needs.

Very easy tuning, stays in perfect tune, even after a long gig.
Don't know anything about factory setup, bought it used, and the setup was excellent.
This is a "fast finger guitar" and can be used for slides as well.
The guitar is very handy, everything is in the right place.
The only lack may be the weight, but i like the feeling of a strong axe.

Beeing playing for 23 Years. I've been playing very different Guitars.
They are all sold now.
I only kept the T-60 and my 1964th Framus Hollywood, which was my
first real electric guitar.
Theese are very different guitars, I'm very happy with them and don't need and don't want any other.
If one of them were lost or stolen, i would choose the same guitar
for replacement it as fast as possible.

Made in 1979. My black beauty has been in my hands since new. The maple neck feels like butter in my hands. Everything on this guitar is stock as purchased, except for the Schecter strap locks, which I highly recommend. I set this one up my self using a jazz guage of strings. This thing came with a custom fit case that might withstand a nuclear blast. I've played it through a least 10 different amps and am still amazed at the versatility of sounds I can get from it.

Right now, I am musical director for my church. We play just about any style of music. To be honest, I haven't use it much because I play bass or synth guitar most of the time and I miss playing it. I been playing for over 35 years. I have played country, country rock, southern rock, motown, oldies, jazz, R&B and metal. If I can't find a good sound on my strat (which has the roland setup, I usually go back to this guitar. I'm seriously considering outfitting it with a midi pickup.

Well the factory setup was over 23 years ago. Through the years, I've changed the string guages and only had to tweak it. I've never touched the neck rod adjustment. Never needed to. The paint has held up to spending 12 years on stage at least twice a week. One of the reasons Les Pauls have been so popular is because they don't seem to age. If it wasn't for the body style of this guitar, you'd probably think it was less than 5 years old. I'd compare the action to vintage Fender guitars (my first real electric was a Mustang)

Like I previously said this, has got to be one of the most endurable axes ever made! I've seen these guitars look bad, but only when abused. Even the abused ones still play and sound great.

I've been dealing with Peavey for over 22 years. I do sound system consulting on the side. Their factory repair shop is second to none. The parts department is very responsive and I've never been charged excessively high prices for parts. You can call the service department in Mississippi and get solid advice on all their products. I even repaired a bass amp one time. I called for new Pots (volume/tone controls). The service manager told me they were no longer made. He sent substitute parts with a wiring diagram. It worked fine. Most companies would tell you the amp is obsolete and do nothing else.

I own 5 guitars. My Roland ready Strat, a 1983 Ovation Deluxe Ballader, a Yamaha 12 string, and my T-60..... oh and number five I just purchased.... another T-60 (this one is white). I also have a Peavey fretless Foundation 4 string bass, an Ibanez SD885 5 string bass and a newly purchased Ken Smith BSRB custom 5 string bass. I'm not sure why you can still get the T-60 for such a low price, but I have a feeling that's going to change. If any of these guitars were stolen or lost. I'd just find a way to replace them. Things happen for a reason. I have a friend who has a 1965 Gibson 355, a strat and two ovations. Each of my guitars have their own special sounds and features and so does his. We all are unique and so are these guitars. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Beautiful Natrual Finish, Everything is origional on this beast except for the tuners...Unfortunately I had to replace them due to lack of care (from the previous owner), however what origional tuners that did work were exceptional. I replaced them with sperzel locking tuners...they're ok, for an aftermarket. I truely enjoy the looks the double cutaway.

Sceptical friends of mine owning Strats and Gibson guitars are like myself, amazed by the tone. This was my first 'real' guitar and i've gone through many guitars, even a strat!..Even through all that I've stayed true to the T-60. as far as live playing, i would not trade anything for the chance to play the T-60 live. Show people what that guitar is made of! As far as the guitar i believe it is one of the earlier models (6 digit S/N), All knobs (i.e. volume, tone) and switches are very solid.

Guitars: Currently I own a Jackson/Kramer American customised to the hilt for blues, an Epiphone Special....need to get rid of that!,a vintage Pan acoustic (still looking up more info on that brand), and of course my baby the T-60

I bought this guitar in the early 80's, because I liked the look of it, in many of the country vidios that I seen it in. Then when I got hold of one,I then knew why they where all playing them! Everything about my playing improved, way faster action then the 2x8 I had been playing. Fell in love with the range of different sounds that I could get out of it. My t-60 was the all natural wood finish and has held up very well, one nick in the neck where it fell over on stage on a break, that person now knows not to go near a stage!!!!!

If there is a sound that this guitar can't get I haven't found it,or haven't needed it. I was useing the Peavey Musian amp for a while (till my back gave out) Then switched to a Traynor Block amp with a boss super chrouse pedal.

action on the t-60 was as I said great! this was my second guitar that I ever played and there was just no trunning back. The pickups were still set from factory and so was the intonation, the store that I bought it from chould not find anything wrong. Finish...there was only one VERY SMALL thing here, there is one chunk of miss matched ash on the body when they laminated it together, but after a while it just gave it charater.

I played this TANK on stage for 15 years EVERY WEEKEND with NO BACKUP and not once did ever let me down. I also recorded and album with it and had NO trouble with it in the studio with noise I replaced the strap buttons with a product called strap locks just for the conveiance. The hardware is showing a little ware where my right hand rested but other than that no problemo. Even the flight case that came with it survived all those years. With the durability comes a bit of a price, it is a little heavy on the sholders after a few hours, but the pleasure is well worth that discomfort and a wider strap solved the lion share of that problem.

I even own a Gretsch country gentelmen and a Washburn acustic eletric but I will still prefer my Peavey over those two and any other ones that I have played. God have mercy on the poor fool that ever tryed to steel "BABY"( yes I named it!) from me, we have been trough HELL AND BACK together ( plus TWO nasty devorces)and won!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't play gigs, but would use it if I did. Mine withstood 5 years of being stolen, police lockers, etc. without a mark, and they didn't steal the case, either. Peavey was the first that I know of to use urethane finishes, and they are the most durable. The finish has no effect on a solid body, before someone touts lacquer.

I've played for 33 years and am still partial to T-60s. BTW, "T" stood for Todd before I left to become Dir. of R&D for Fender Guitars, Rogers Drums, and Squire Strings. Hartley and I are still good friends and he's one of the finest men I have ever met. It's reflected in how he treats employees and customers.

US made, ash body, maple neck, maple fingerboard, 21 frets, you know the rest from the specs that others have mentioned.
Mine has the natural finish (looks very '70s)
Sting through body - hard tail
Came with sturdy plastic case
I bought the guitar new about 1980 - the serial number is 00642727. I have the Peavey Monitor magazine that has an extensive review of the T series guitars (Summer 1983). In the review, it states that the T-60 and T-40 bass were developed in 1976 (BTW the T stands for Technology Series)
I noticed that one reviewer suspected that the T-60 has a short scale neck, this is not the case. The T-60 has a 25 1/2 inch scale neck (most have a 24 3/4 inch scale).

Everything is covered with this guitar. I bought the guitar after hearing it being demonstrated. The guitarist produced a range of sounds from tele and strat sounds to ballsy Les Paul sound. I don't know why others have not duplicated the single to double coil circuitry in their pickups. Just by using the tone controls you can move from what you would swear is a strat to a raunchy humbucker sound. The phase switch is also very useful when getting into country sounds and very convincing Mark Knopfler sounds.
I only need one guitar to suit the range of music I play from Aussie pub rock and pop of the '70 & 80s to blues and modern rock. I must admit though that I have just bought an American Deluxe Strat but it is really only to spoil myself with a fancy new guitar.

I remember the guitar played well out of the box but I was able to improve the action considerably using the setup instructions that came with it. This guitar has individual string height adjustment at the bridge, the neck relief has maintained stablity and there is a neck tilt adjustment (not bad for a guitar that is over 22 years old). The guitar's electronics are shielded as standard. This guitar fits like a glove. I have no thumb on my left hand and my little finger is about half the length it should be - try chording up the neck with a hand like that! This guitar enabled me to do it. This is a very special guitar.

Just recently got it refretted. No other problems ever. Has been used on stage - I have not played professionally for about 18 years now. This guitar gets played almost daily so I suppose a refret could not be held against it. This guitar has never let me down.

I sent Peavey an email once requesting information on parts availability (just in case because the guitar is getting old now) and they got back to me very quickly. Other than that - I have not had any need for support or assistance. Peavey have all of their old manuals available online - I like that.

Been playing for 27 years. Owned lots of different guitars in the first 5 years then when I got the T-60 I didn't look at another guitar until this year (2002). If stolen or lost - I would cry. I think this guitar is approaching "collector's item" status and mine is in excellent condition. I would definitely replace it, but it would be hard to find a replacement in Australia. Even with my brand new American Deluxe Strat, I will not part with my T-60.

At first sight the 1981 Gloss White T60 looks like a mesh between a Gibson and a Strat, it's body posseses characteristics of both and is suprisingly thin and well contoured. The neck is a thin hard rock maple and features Peaveys dual expanding torsion rods which help keep the neck in perfect alignment and pitch. Sealed die-cast peavey tuners, keep the near 20 year old guitar in perfect tune, string through body/hard tail bridge enhanced sustain and guitar harmonics, wide low frets made chording a breeze and harmonics just lift off the frets. 2 volume/ 2 tone configuration featuring a VCCS(voice contour control system) wiring, which allows the humbicking pickups to spilt into single coil mode(7-10) or go full humbucker(1-7). And an Aluminum/Metal, nut that helps make notes sing and chime.

I mainly play 80's rock-Skid Row/Van Halen, Jazz, BLues, and Satriani. Although the majority of the bands I have named use Floyd Rose pitch bends, nose dive whammy etc..., don't let the guitars some what simple features-hardtail bridge, fool you. The guitar literally shreds and smokes, or can sweetly sing and soar. I use it with a visual sound H20, Ibanez ts9, Phase 90, and line it straight through to a Peavey Ultra 212. The guitar has probably one of the most versitle sounds, it doesn't sound like a Gibson, it doesn't sound like a Fender, instead it sounds like a T60.
