I went into my local music store www.soundsgreatmusic.com looking at semis. I checked out Epiphones, Gretsch, Ibanez, Yamaha and Gibson then saw the Peerless guitars.
First of all they look fantastic, I really liked the Renaissanceat first, but as soon as i saw the Gigmaster custom i was hooked!

It looks pretty much like a Gretsch White Falcon, and i believe it has the same pickups. From what I can gather Peerless used to make guitars for Gretsch, Ibanez and others and then decided to make their own guitars branded as Peerless.

The body is beautifully bound with abalone (?) and has all gold hardware, it looks proper bling! I've had more comments about this guitar than any other i've ever owned, seriously everyone loves it.

I bought it to have a different sound than my strat or Les Paul for clean stuff, but i tried it out with some dirt for a laugh and it sounds HUGE! Seriously it will do claqssic rock all the way up to Metal, i played Tool on it in drop D and it sounded epic, full of tone and crunch which really surprised me.

It has a master volume control, plus a separate volume and tone for each pickup, which is cool for setting a level between the 2 then using the master for an overall level.

I play everything from Floyd to U2 to Metallica. This guitar is obviously made for Jazz and blues which it excells at, it's just full of tone, but it's real advantage is how good it sounds for rock. I did a show with it 2 weeks ago and used it for 3 Foo Fighters tunes and the audience said of my 3 guitars the Peerless looked and sounded the best.

The neck pickup is lovely for soloing, really rich and full but full of dynamics, and the bridge pickup can be as bright as you want but never harsh, it's really easy to control.

Overall a super versatile guitar, i could play pretty much everything on it

Really nice to play too, perfect frets and finish, no issues at all, really nice dark rosewood board, not a cheesy dry one like on some top name brands ahem...

Excellent machine heads and the Bigsby is great (if a bit of an arsehole to re-string - but all Bigsbys are like this).

Everything feels solid, and it's extremely comfortable to play both sitting and especially standing as it's so light.

Reliability/Durability : 9
I'd use this at a gig with no backup no problem.

It's solid and sturdy - i wouldn't want to drop it as it's hollow but the hard case it comes with looks like it's worth ??200 on its own!

I've only given it a 9 because the Bigsby means it can go out of tune easier than a fixed bridge, but no more than any other Bigsby guitar.

Absolutely superb, the original guitar I bought had a dead fret which i didn't notice in the shop. Anyway I called the store and within a couple of days the guy from Peerless drove up to the store to meet me with another brand new Gigmaster custom. he was really apologetic and really went out of his way to help me.

They seem like a company that really cares about customer service and getting themselves a great reputation which is really refreshing - i wish all guitar companies had the same attitude.

Overall Rating : 10
When i saw the Gigmaster Custom i asked the guy how much it was expecting to hear ??2500 - seriously it looks expensive. When he told me it was ??489 i couldn't believe it, so I played it and within 15 minutes i'd bought it, and I NEVER buy guitars without a lot of research, but this one was just awesome and I've not regretted it for a second.

First off this guitar is a beautiful work of art!! I have the Gigmaster Custom which is all white with gold trim everywhere! pearl inlays, bigsby tremelo and grover tuners! It is a guitar very much like Gretsch White Falcon! 2 humbucker style pick up ! clean tones are beautiful and mellow too but on the rock style its shreds!
i love the feel of this guitar right out of the box was ready to play! the neck is very smooth ,feel great in the hand! the pearl trim and F'holes rock!!

This is the best i can say ! once you play it you'll be in love! for blues jazz and for me its rock it works well! it has a few uncontrolled hollow body hums i personally havent figured out how to remedy cause i play heavy crunch tones and get that killer feed back! so if anyone can tell me the best way to cut the feedback a bit in the rock modes please let me know!dont get me wrong this is a awesome axe i havent quite mastered the tone control! lol i know all u guys who play hollow bodies know what i am saying and laughing what a novice lol!
